Evening / Late Night Games Open Thread
I was frankly shocked that no such thread was currently up as we're typically so conscious of the slate. No matter, a few notable ones:
Florida State / Oklahoma State - currently 10-0 FSU with the first quarter nearly over.
LSU / Wisconsin - this should be an interesting one. I think it is the only SEC / Big Ten game scheduled this season.
Oregon / South Dakota - Prediction? Pain. No, seriously, the line has Oregon winning by an amount yet to be computed.

Vanderbilt isn't bad either.

After Vandy's performance against Temple the term is describe them is awful.

From all accounts their coach is a good person, and they always seem to be a bridesmaid. Tons of tradition, cool unis - likable team. For us older guys they probably had the best college player of that decade - Herschel Walker. Seems like UM and GA should have crossed paths a lot more in bowl games over the years in FL but alas...
Somehow we've only played them twice, 57 and 65. Really hope Brandon can get them on the schedule like in the 2050s or so.

I also don't hate Vandy, probably because they don't seem to have typically obnoxious SEC fans.

Good job by the Wisconsin D

I think I read every skill player LSU had last year on offense went to the NFL. They bring back their OL.
Meanwhile Wisconsin lost a just about their entire front 7. Lots of newbies out there.

Evidently Gordon is the "one player" who can match SEC speed. What SEC knob slobbing!
August 30th, 2014 at 9:25 PM ^
Let's go Wisky! Big Teeeeeeen!

Go Wisco
August 30th, 2014 at 9:25 PM ^
Yeow.... Wisconsin has some serious speed coming out of the backfield.
August 30th, 2014 at 9:25 PM ^
As the one person in the B1G that can match the SEC in speed.
Oh maybe Love can, too.

ESS EEE SEE SPEED

Only took 5 minutes in Wis-LSU game for that cliche to rear it's ugly head commpliments of ,ironically, Speilman.

I'd like to think that a Wisconsin win would help change the narrative of SEC conference power, but it'll just be explained away or ignored. Especially with Spielman in the booth.

BIG 10 SPEEEEED
August 30th, 2014 at 9:29 PM ^
I'm calling it now. The curse of ESPN to the SEC. All this knob bobbing and the two finalists are not going to be SEC teams. This is going to be a good year. The SEC has not looked like world beaters with the exception of A&M and Georgia.

Is it just me, or does nobody on our team look even close to Wisconsin RBs in terms of speed and strength?

Johnson and Hayes are not that fast, no.
August 30th, 2014 at 10:18 PM ^
Hayes is fast. Johnson, I'm not quite sure about, but he showed some burst this afternoon.
August 30th, 2014 at 9:32 PM ^
It's just the SEC aura making them faster. They'll be way slower when back in the midwest. But, yes. Maybe not stronger, but faster for sure.
