Drinkwitz will not stop harping on Michigan

“If we’re gonna really have hard conversations, let me ask you this. If a team in the playoff has a star player get injured, are they gonna be removed from the playoff and then we put Florida State back in?” Eli Drinkwitz said on SiriusXM College. “That, to me, was complete nonsensical rationalization. I know I’m an SEC guy, but that one bothered me a whole lot.

“And to not factor in, maybe, a team having an unfair advantage in some of their games, it just seemed like, to me, we were picking and choosing what lens we were gonna look through.”

I know a lot of you believed he was taking a shot at Ohio State with his "joke" on the selection show and not Michigan, but he sure does seem to have a lot to say about Michigan this year.

This was his comment on Ryan Day:

“I think he’s a tremendous football coach,” he said. “I have followed his career. I have a lot of respect for the way he’s gone about his business, working out from Boston College, from the NFL having opportunities there to being the offensive coordinator at Ohio State. I think one of the elite coaches in college football. He does a tremendous job offensively. He’s one of those teams that I like to watch and see what they’re doing because I know they’re always on the cutting edge. And I have a tremendous amount of respect for the person that he is as well as the football coach.”

Why wouldn’t we. I’m sure Ryan Day overnighted ours to Saban. The big difference is Saban will let his team speak for themselves when the balls kicked, Day tried hamstringing us a month before. Fuck anyone who wants to use the sign BS. Like Sanders said. You could have our whole playbook, but you still gotta stop it. Just as we knew McCord was gonna pass to MHJ the last drive, we stopped it.

You could have our whole playbook, but you still gotta stop it. Just as we knew McCord was gonna pass to MHJ the last drive, we stopped it.

This is essentially the case in every sport! Gibson’s famous HR? He knew what pitch was coming on that count. NBA with 5 seconds left? Everyone knows who’s getting the ball.  “Just try and stop me”

I’m sure it’ll be Devin Brown. Somehow he lost the qb battle to McCord but is the more athletic of the two. How McCord was a 5 star recruit is beyond me? Did the scouts ignore his piss poor mechanics, lack of being able to scramble even a little? JJ may have had a rough last month of the season, but thank goodness we didn’t have to face him in a buckeye uniform.

You seem equally worked up about my pointing it out.

Anyway, in the last thread, my only point was he was taking a shot at Michigan (even if poorly done) and not OSU, while a lot of people insisted otherwise. That's still my only point.

So my beef is with other posters on the board, not Drinkwitz. As for why I'm posting about it on the board now, well, I was done reading about Ja'Corey Brooks in the portal, I guess.

His previous comment was a joke, not a shot a Michigan.

His first comment in this thread is a shot at the BS playoff committee and I like it.

Drinkwicz is a good dude. Not sure why you think he has something against michigan.

For the last one, he has no beef with Day and he’s not going to give Ohio any ammunition either.

"Not sure why you think he has something against Michigan."

Who do you think he was referring to with this statement—Eastern Michigan?

“And to not factor in, maybe, a team having an unfair advantage in some of their games, it just seemed like, to me, we were picking and choosing what lens we were gonna look through.”

This statement is a disingenuous swipe at Michigan; Drinkwitz knows damn well that whatever information Stalion obtained from his rando pals recording games was of limited benefit, compared to all the information that's obtained via NCAA-approved methods, but he's going to parrot the narrative pushed by ESPN and its shit-flinging fellow-travelers in the media that Michigan engaged in hugely important skullduggery.

I fully agree with you Don. When all of this first broke he was one of the ones taking shots at Michigan during his interviews. None of them were outright aggressive and were framed as jokes but he definitely seems like someone that thinks this is the 'worst thing ever' considering how many jokes and comments he's made about it.

He is probably lobbying to be Ohio State’s coach if Ryan Day leaves or gets canned.

Actually not a bad strategy.  He would get a huge pay raise and get to coach a bunch of 5 ⭐️ players.

The school going into the missionary position on this situation means that everybody gets to take their shots at us. I'm sure there's some moral superiority "National Champions of Life" thing that we're going to promote in the meantime, so I'm just gonna let it roll of my back.
