this is such a weird off-season
August 11th, 2018 at 5:50 PM ^
Just saw the breaking news flash on the ESPN ticker as well. I think there is little doubt that he will get fired over this. Sad series of events.
August 11th, 2018 at 5:50 PM ^
If only Maryland had a rabid fan base, then Tom Herman's wife could be to blame.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:00 PM ^
There were a few on Twitter blaming the anonymous players, but... most are pretty apathetic—living out here in Maryland, there are more PSU folks.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:04 PM ^
few people on twitter
aka Will Muschamp
August 11th, 2018 at 6:09 PM ^
Well, what happened with Jordan McNair is just a bunch of innuendo. Until the anonymous staffer goes on the record, we can't know for sure that McNair actually died.
August 11th, 2018 at 7:04 PM ^
Was about ready to neg, and then I read the whole thing.
August 11th, 2018 at 7:24 PM ^
I have a hunch that a college football world where intimidation and humiliation aren't allowed to be used as coaching techniques is one that Will Muschamp does not want to live in (or would be able to find a job in).
August 13th, 2018 at 12:54 AM ^
She sure looks good. I believe she really likes to hit the sauce unfortunately. I think it will negatively impact the career of Texas Tom.
August 11th, 2018 at 5:51 PM ^
The Big Ten East, everybody!
August 11th, 2018 at 5:51 PM ^
Let's see how soon 11 Warriors can relate this back to Harbaugh.
Too late
August 11th, 2018 at 5:53 PM ^
You mean former Meyer assistant at Bowling Green and Florida?
August 11th, 2018 at 6:02 PM ^
It's somehow bizarre that Durkin worked for Meyer, then Harbaugh, then Meyer, then Harbaugh, 4 different schools with some stops in between. He left Stanford before Harbaugh's last season for Meyer's last season at Florida. I'm not sure which of those was more foreseeable.
August 13th, 2018 at 12:47 AM ^
I was reading an SB article on this. They mentioned Meyer but didnt mention he was actually on Harbaughs staff longer. ?
August 11th, 2018 at 5:53 PM ^
Lmao. Do they realize that Durkin and the S&C coach worked under urban?
August 11th, 2018 at 5:57 PM ^
Rick Court went to MSU too
August 11th, 2018 at 6:47 PM ^
They should worry about their glass house and their god coach hired Durkin too...
August 11th, 2018 at 6:54 PM ^
LOL to any OSU fan who thinks they can claim the moral high ground over most any school right now.
August 11th, 2018 at 10:03 PM ^
Who cares. You guys are on the verge of losing several players for several games due to shoegate and Urban is about to reinstated. And of course you're on course to lose seven straight games to OSU so there is that.
August 11th, 2018 at 10:50 PM ^
I just wish we could have a camera present when reinstated Ohio State coach Urban Meyer sits down with a single mother who suffered domestic abuse & wants to know why she should trust him to help her son to be a better man than he is.
August 11th, 2018 at 11:32 PM ^
Okay. But he'll always be a liar.
Who is going to trust him moving forward,? You?
With your daughter? Son?.
Just shaking my head here.
August 12th, 2018 at 1:11 AM ^
Don’t shake your head. Just know that you are a better person than that poster and urban Meyer. They are both shitty humans
August 12th, 2018 at 12:03 AM ^
Fuck off, cooler pooper.
August 12th, 2018 at 1:27 PM ^
wow!!!! hgb4529 , you are so cool. 12 years old, right?
August 11th, 2018 at 5:53 PM ^
2/7ths of the head coaches in our division are on administrative leave. I'll put money on Durking being the only one fired.
August 11th, 2018 at 5:55 PM ^
Most likely
August 11th, 2018 at 6:41 PM ^
And you could argue that the guy in East Lansing should be on that list and at the very top of the "should be fired" list as well.
August 11th, 2018 at 7:02 PM ^
Please explain why Dantonio should be fired
August 11th, 2018 at 7:14 PM ^
Are you really that naive? Dantonio makes Urban Meyer look like an altar boy. Besides having blood on his hands for all the assaults, he is a master of turning his head the other way and third chances. Mark Hollis didn’t run away for nothing. Despicable coach working for an even more despicable university.
August 11th, 2018 at 7:42 PM ^
He is really a fucking TROLL!
August 11th, 2018 at 8:58 PM ^

Come back when you are finished.
August 11th, 2018 at 11:10 PM ^
You just asked an MSU fan to read, how long are you willing to wait?
August 13th, 2018 at 1:02 AM ^
This. Totally agree on Dantonio. How does he get away on this?
August 11th, 2018 at 5:54 PM ^
What a mess college football is in now.
Now we also have a "shoe" issue - waiting for mid-season suspensions of key players...I hope not.
I'm hoping the bad news ends and we have a great season but I keep dreading the next news cycle.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:05 PM ^
UM needs to do a thorough, honest, but quick internal investigation so that if a player is involved they can self-impose suspensions. If they do that, then the NCAA will be slow to make any adjustments to whatever they find. I would be sad to read that any of our best players would be that dumb, but if they messed up, they need to be suspended for as many games as they f’d up. Some UNC players got 4 games, some 2. If Meyer gets less than fired, any suspension is moot.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:28 PM ^
Two UNC players only got one game each. For this kind of case the NCAA has guidelines based on the amount of money involved. I'm curious why they had that much difference.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:35 PM ^
I agree wholeheartedly because it is the right thing to do, but the NCAA has demonstrated that the next best action is to deflect, deny, and change the news cycle.

I remember when people wanted to give the death penalty to a school when students sold their own property...
what a weird offseason

The shoe issue is bothering me. After what happened at UNC this could be a sheet storm.

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out.
August 11th, 2018 at 5:56 PM ^
u beat me by one second!
August 11th, 2018 at 6:04 PM ^
This Rick Court guy makes Mike Barwis look like Bambi. And Durkin never seemed like the type that would run a program in this manner. He got fired up on the sideline as Michigan D coordinator but otherwise looked like a softy. Shows how off my impressions are.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:06 PM ^
Leave me outta this
August 11th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
Sorry, Bambi. I didn't mean to offend you. You are so sweet though...my daughter loves you.
August 11th, 2018 at 7:31 PM ^
Hi Bambi! You’re a deer, right? Say hi to your mother for me!
August 11th, 2018 at 6:08 PM ^
I just put the pieces together: Head S&C coach Rick Court is a former Michigan State baseball player (can someone confirm was he a team captain?). Rick spent time training me in the offseason when he was catching for MSU and I was still in high school. At that time (20 years ago) he was a very nice guy and I couldn’t imagine him allowing the toxic culture being discussed but he also looks very different and people change a lot.
August 11th, 2018 at 7:32 PM ^
Roids are a helluva drug.
August 12th, 2018 at 12:39 AM ^
He never hinted at anything like that to me but it’s entirely possible. If not around 2000-2001 perhaps later when we weren’t in contact.
August 11th, 2018 at 6:14 PM ^
The Big Ten East is killing it this offseason.
OSU - harbored a wife beater
MSU - harbored a molester
Maryland - killed a player
Rutgers - credit card fraud
Michigan - possible Sneaker enterprise
Penn State - yeah that last scandal's gonna count against them for awhile
Alright Indiana. You're up Hoosiers.
