Dee Hart - Final Decision Next Weekend
I didn't see this posted, but if it was already, my bad.
Anway, Dee says he'll make his final decision after his visit to Bama next weekend. He will also see Bama play Arkansas this weekend in Fayetteville, Ark. Apparently he said that there is "no leader". Also, Bama's #1 option? (Isaiah Crowell) is leaning towards Georgia, at least according to this.

Come on Dee. Go BLUE. For your future!
September 26th, 2010 at 10:57 AM ^
Last year, there were two recruits that Webb back-tracked on, and changed his "gut feeling" about. Take that fwiw, my gut can't take this anymore, I want him to Go Blue. kthx
September 24th, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
If he goes Blue, then great for him. If not, then I wish him the best of luck but I won't lose any sleep over it. UM is going to win with the players who want to be here, and I do not care who those people are right now.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:48 PM ^
Haven't we heard that one from him before?
September 24th, 2010 at 10:49 PM ^
Dee will see us shread BGSU and understand what his role will be next year as a RB. "Dee"nard will be the new saying.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:49 PM ^
I kinda hope he chooses Alabama, because I like the other RB were recruiting a teeny tiny bit more.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:54 PM ^
also, pass the pipe, man... you're hogging it.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:03 PM ^
Wait, that was sarcasm, right?...
September 24th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
I'm pretty sure that he has promised both Alabama and Auburn that he would give them a visit. He seems to have good values and be a (young) man of his word.
At a time not too long ago, most would agree that he was a UM lock. I bet he is getting tired of the recruiting process and it is starting to wear on him.
Therefore, he decides he is ready to commit to UM but wants to stick to his word and schedules his final visits very close to each other to give them a fair chance. He announce he will commit after his last visit.
He goes blue but also sticks to the promises he made which will also mean that once he commits he will stick with his commitment.
I know that this is optimistic but its not unrealistic.
September 24th, 2010 at 10:57 PM ^
The judgment that he was a UM lock was based on him (and his Mom) telling UM-affiliated people that he likes UofM. He's also telling Auburn people he likes Auburn and Alabama people he likes Alabama.
The assumption that he was a lock is what you're building the rest of your conjecture off of.
September 25th, 2010 at 4:04 AM ^
lean instead of lock. But yes, that assumption is what my theory is based off of.
Like I said it is an optimistic perspective and yes, he may or may not have passed that pipe... its Friday man... Haven't you seen Roundtree's favorite movie?
September 25th, 2010 at 1:06 AM ^
The thing your leaving out is every recruit gets five official visits, it means nothing if someone wants to use them. Put yourself in his shoes...would you use them? Specifically in the case of Alabama and Arkansas...he has a teammate committed to both schools! So once again, your a high profile recruit in high school and can go check out other schools with your buddies (ie: Hasean Clinton Dix came here with D for the UCONN gm)on their dime...I say why not? I mean seriously he is on a pretty stacked high school team with D1 recruits all over...their friends, schools are going to offer players to try and get that crown jewel (ie: Auburn offering everybody in a Dr Phillps uniform). With him speeding up his decision, it would not be suprising if that works in UM's favor...probably means his mind is made up, and these visits are just that...visits
September 24th, 2010 at 11:26 PM ^
If he has his decision made before these next 2 visits, it seems like the decision would be in favor of the schools who he has seen already, that being us and auburn I guess. So unless he really really loved his auburn visit I would think we're looking good here. Although I know nothing more than the average mgoblogger so I could be way off.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:48 PM ^
I'm trying to think positive here but Auburn and Alabama will be fresh on his mind especially Bama who he will see two weeks in a row. Does anyone know if Sam Webb still has his gut feeling about Dee?
September 25th, 2010 at 9:27 AM ^
Anyone feel free to add or correct, but if I heard right, Sam gets his gut from talking to the recruit or his close family/friends to get his feeling. He doesnt rely on any of the recruiting services. Sam was wrong once and it was with Parker. Parker called on signing day and said that he couldn't come to Michigan, it was too far.
As for last Friday, I think Sam said he hasn't changed his feeling, but you don't know what this week will hold.

I have no worries.
Dee Hart would look great with Denard Robinson. Denard knows this, Dee knows this, RichRod knows this, we all know this.
What we don't know is if that is what Dee Hart prioritizes. He is clearly a strong family man and a kid who loves how and where he grew up and is proud of that. I wouldn't be surprised, and quite frankly would fully understand if he ended up at one of the three A's down there.
Michigan will be here with arms wide open waiting for Demetrius Hart until early February. We just wouldn't close the doors on a player like this in September, even if we were to land him. Dee Hart's commitment continues on until the LOI is filed.
September 24th, 2010 at 11:48 PM ^
I wonder how many touches a game he will get with 'Bama. Not that the Nicktator has ever lied before.
All of these kids have inflated egos. Wait until he steps up to D-I. Things change.
With or without him, MICHIGAN will prevail.
September 25th, 2010 at 1:06 AM ^
Sounds harsh but I actually agree with this...there is no better situation for him than Michigan
September 25th, 2010 at 2:05 AM ^
No one is locked into any school until signing day regardless of when they make a verbal commit. i won't get too high or low however he announces. DRob wasn't our first choice in QB recruit and that has turned out pretty well! Go Blue!!!
September 25th, 2010 at 2:56 AM ^
He already announced that he's graduating early. So signing day isn't as germane. I don't like where this is going.
September 25th, 2010 at 2:17 AM ^
......him showing up at the Big House for the Iowa game - after he commits to one of the other southern schools.
And yes, I would ride the Official Visits until that bus stopped and let me off.
Winning fixes everything; Having a coach in the Driver's Seat is better than one in the Hot Seat; Having multiple players on your team from Florida (surviving MI winters) can't hurt either (especially this guy).
September 25th, 2010 at 3:44 AM ^
I hope he made up his mind months ago and will be attending UM. May be he is just going on his recruiting trips to Auburn and Alabama to be with some of his high school friends.
What ever Dee's decision, best wishes for a successful collegiate and pro career! Though I hope he picks us!!! Pleas be part of the dynamic duo with DROB!

Initially I thought the same, that the O was too reliant on Denard. But, most of that probably stems from Denard still getting use to the offense. He has opened it up alot more and will continue to do so.
September 25th, 2010 at 9:07 AM ^
hope for the best
words to recruit by
and, just maybe Dee is aware of the WSJ article about Saban. Just maybe his parents are, as well.
Just sayin.

If you are a huge football fan and had the opportunity to go to a top notch game on someone else's dime....be catered to hand and foot...get your ego pumped up with everyone there telling how awsome you are and how much they want you.....
Even the most leveled headed young man would not pass up the opportunity......
Dee, and his family, will decide what is best for him....
If it is Meeeechigan......GREAT....
If not, thank-you young man for your consideration, best of luck....
Dee, come to Meeeechigan...you and Shoelace would be the best 1-2 combo in all of college football. And the best part is, after Shoelace graduates....oh yeah we have Gardner to come take over.....
September 25th, 2010 at 10:02 AM ^
Do we have a Plan B??
September 25th, 2010 at 10:18 AM ^
Looks like Dee had another big night last night. I couldn't find official stats, but he is in some of these highlights with nice TD runs.
September 25th, 2010 at 10:51 PM ^
He says he's deciding next weekend because he knows where he's going. Got to be Michigan. Thats pretty obvious. It's a lock in my eyes. He wouldn't be sure of Bama being he hasn't made the visit yet and his mom didn't go with him to Auburn. He's just taking his visits. Relax.
September 25th, 2010 at 11:19 PM ^
you better KNOCK ON WOOD
September 25th, 2010 at 11:33 PM ^
has Dee's mom visited Auburn? I assume so, but if she hasn't..... Hello Dee. (yes I did knock on wood)
September 26th, 2010 at 12:09 AM ^
Getting Dee is a big deal, obviously, in and of itself.
Just as big, IMO, is beating out Auburn in a recruiting battle for a kid from the south.
Auburn, like us, is a program that is trending upwards.
Furthermore, we're in the midst of another recruiting battle with them, for Kris Frost.
Getting Dee - not just for the sake of getting Dee, but these other reasons - would be a huge win for our program and coaching staff.
September 26th, 2010 at 12:19 PM ^
I've been following both teams' recruitements of Hart.
Dee Hart will commit to Michigan.
Bama is getting Isaiah Crowell.
If anyone is a real threat to Michigan in the Hart sweepstakes, it's Auburn, not Alabama.
