I just saw that the announcement will be carried live at 7pm. Here is the link
Deanthony Arnett announcement live on MLIVE
lot of msu insiders think they are on the outside looking in and that it comes down to michigan and tennessee (brain fart).
That way if they get him, they can act like they pulled a major coup over us and own instate recruiting. If they don't get him, well, he's just another big one that went to "greener pastures." (No pun.)
I felt like we had a good shot at him too
I personally don't understand why someone so enthralled with the limelight would want to play for a school where entire stadium sections are empty for a conference game, even one when they have a rare, legitimate shot at a B10 championship and BCS bowl, but I don't pretend to understand the thought process of a high schooler.
That won't be true much longer if Subway has anything to say about it.
Filling our stadium, one 6 inch delicious Italian sub on wheat at a time.
Not sure who will
I think Arrnet will be a pretty good player......but Im glad he didnt commit to michigan.....id rather have watkins. Not only do i think watkins will be a better player but stealing 5star recruits from the state of Florida will help our recruting in that state every year.
Home town book it
Delta College. Book it
the fightin' armadillos
Has a lot of perty ladies
Take it with a grain of salt.
I am going to say he chooses Michigan. Guy seems to have a sense of humor, likes to have fun, and if I were him, I would find the prospect of playing for Dantonio like spending 4 or 5 years with the Assistant Principal.
I would think if he wanted to have A LOT of fun, playing for Dantanio would be the way to go. I mean, if you screw up it doesn't really matter, and you won't have to put up with any discipline.
Well, yeah, but Sparty shennanigans are cruel, unfortunate shennanigans, whereas no co-eds were actually harmed in any of Arnett's shennanigans.
Perhaps, but don't assistant principals occasionally discipline students? I think your comparison might be a little insulting to many assistant principals.
...I'm an assistant principal, and I'm a delightful fellow. It would be a treat to spend time with me. In fact, I am around me constantly, and I'm very happy. It is almost entirely do to me...you know, being pleasant.
If he chooses Michigan, consider it Rabacked.
If he doesn't, I'm just pulling something out of my ass.
God, i hope you are right. But I have been burned too many times to put too much faith in DA at this point.
Don't really care. I think Magnus had it right yesterday.
My guess is MSU, and that's fine. I don't think any one player is that important. Remember the whole Tyrelle Pryor drama?
You do realize that our team would have been much better with Pryor over the last two years, right. This year that is probably a toss up, you have no clue how he would have looked in this system.
If we would have been better the last 2 years, recruiting would have gone better and we would probably have seen the effect of having an elite prospect like Pryor but on the defensive side of the ball....If that makes any sense?
That makes no sense but the extra period on your ellipse is pretty snazzy.
i think you mean ellipsis...
he could be referring to a decrease in frequency (extra period) used to draw said ellipse. twohooks is probably just a math or engineering major and wanted to throw you for a loop.
The "You have no clue how he would have looked in this offense" argument goes both ways, but I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that we would have been better off with him. Do you remember his freshman year? Lots of freshman mistakes. Last year, still not that great. This year, he's finally starting to be consistent. Plus, last year and the year before, he was surrounded by better players at OSU. Plus a much better defense. I think you're giving him too much credit for the team's success. I don't think he could have carried this team on his shoulders and taken us farther then Tate or Denard. He's just not that good.
And if it does, is that a good thing, or a bad thing?
One in the hand...
...the lady's reaction is priceless.
I don't think it will have any effect on our chances with Sammy. But, if you had to choose between the two, I think you'd want Watkins.
Watkins is the more talented receiver and that even if you took Arnett, you would need to make room for Watkins no matter what.
I'm really hoping Watkins comes here. Sounds like a hell of a player.
I read on more than one post that Arnett's decision to come to Michigan if he does choose us will not affect Watkins decision. Clemson has 2 other highly ranked receivers in their class and Watkins is still strongly considering them along with Michigan.
No effect. Take both
I think most "insiders" figure he's going out of state. I'd say tennessee since he's said in the past he doesn't want to play in a spread. If he sticks in state, I highly doubt it'll be MSU. Word is D'Antonio was giving him some negative recruting line against Michigan, and he's cooled on MSU as those things have been proven incorrect.
That the University of Denver will be joining it will delay DA's timeline at all. Should be interesting.
Or this is an intentionally ridiculous comment by someone who doesn't really care where DA ends up.
Arnett has had fun with the recruiting process, including his tweets over the past week. I say he comes to Michigan, otherwise he was just being Hart-less.
I'm guessing Tennessee, and that he will be taking an official there this weekend, contrary to what he tweeted. I'm guessing that him "cancelling" this weekend's official to Tennessee was another way of trying to trick people, along with those silly videos.
Don't be a butthead. It wasn't DA that said that. It was the cameraman who I think is DA's brother.
Yeah, but if you're "DickRod" would you still want him? Is it too late to call it off? Or do you just make him run 100 sets of stadium stairs once he gets here?
