| 7 weeks 2 days ago | maize? |
Since we are the lower seeded team, does that mean we will be wearing maize again tomorrow? I hope so. |
| 15 weeks 20 hours ago | I love Mgoblog, |
but the majority of you have to stop getting your panties in a bunch. The only difference between these jerseys and our normal maize ones (which are amazing btw) is that the Michigan and number are not filled in with blue. Is that really the end of the world?
Stauskas and a couple other players have already voiced their opinion on the shoes, calling them "cold" (that means he approves of them). If the players like them and are excited to wear them, what's the big deal? Beat Ohio! |
| 15 weeks 4 days ago | If I'm not mistaken... |
they actually do mandate that the numbers are different/stand out from the jersey in the NCAA Rulebook. I don't have the direct citation in front of me, but technically all teams that wear this type of uniform would be in violation of this rule and the opposing team should be granted 2 technical free throws before the beginning of the game. No ref has granted these free throws this season, but it is in the rule book. But we all know how good the NCAA is at rule enforcement... |

already won it earlier this year in NYC! |
| 17 weeks 3 days ago | Same division |
Michigan and Ohio MUST be in the same division. 1. by being in separate divisions, it becomes a competitive disadvantage for both M and Ohio because we would still have a protected crossover game every year, where others in our division would have protected crossovers against crap teams, making our strength of schedule more difficult year in and year out. 2. the obvious possibility of back-to-back games which has been discussed. 3. it makes the rivalry mean so much more. 4. It works because if MSU is not in our division, they could still be our protected rivalry game. The only rivalry game we could lose out on every year would be the Little Brown Jug -- does anyone care THAT much? Proposed divisions (the same as umbig11 proposed above actually now that I look at it): East : Michigan, Ohio, Penn St., Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Purdue West: Michigan St., Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois The reasons why I like the division matchups and think they are good for the conference are as follows: 1. It allows the major programs, Michigan and Ohio, to get yearly access to huge markets and alumni bases in NYC and DC, which is good for the BTN's prospects and the many thousands of fans of either school on the east coast. (while also keeping Penn State in the mix in the east -- something they really want.) 2. it protects all the rivalries in the Big Ten, when considering protected crossovers as well. 3. The competitive balance is still there. The East has 3 traditionally great programs, and the West would be anyone's division on a yearly basis.

| 17 weeks 4 days ago | this team. |
This team, man. This is the kind of game that wins Big Ten championships. Going on the road and winning at Minnesota when they don't come to Crisler this year = HUGE.
I just posbanged the shit out of everyone, hope you enjoyed. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | almost.. |
I agreed with everything you said until "I would not have been surprised if they had won the game and not ended up being number 1."
The only undefeated team in the nation coming back from a 24-point deficit to win on the road against a top team in the Big Ten. There is no chance in hell we wouldn't have been ranked #1. Every team goes through rough patches throughout the season, and I am proud with how this team bounced back, on the road, and gave Ohio everything they could handle. I do agree that this loss will be a wonderful learning experience for this team, and knowing Beilein, it will help them improve in the future. |
| 18 weeks 1 day ago | Fair |
I think this is fair considering how the (meaningless) polls work in college basketball. I am not losing any sleep over being ranked #5. All we have to do is take care of business and everything will work out in the end. What truly matters is getting that #1 or #2 seed in the tourney, and I think we are in a very good position to accomplish that goal.
Thursday's game is going to be just as difficult as yesterday's was. This is the Big Ten. Beat the Gophers. |
| 19 weeks 4 days ago | no |
the way you have it set up, the North division is the Division of Death. Who headlines the south division? Nebraska and a sanctions-destroyed PSU? No thanks. |
| 19 weeks 5 days ago | I'd like insight on this too. |
I'm wondering this too. He has official visits scheduled for TAMU and Notre Dame in January already, but he has not announced where he will take his 5th and final visit -- you'd have to think we are at least in the running for it. It has to help that Shane Morris is his QB in the Under Armour game. You'd think Shane is recruiting him hard.
Tremendous? |
| 19 weeks 6 days ago | The picture, from now until April... |
I'll leave the tagline up to Brian |
| 20 weeks 21 hours ago | yeah, but |
what about the talent he had this year? This team was preseason #1, all the talent in the world, and ended up 7-6. He won't have plenty of time if this continues. |

USC looked atrocious and has carried themselves terribly the past few weeks. Everything Kiffin touches turns to shit. |
| 20 weeks 3 days ago | yeah.... |
the day we've ALL been waiting for, that's for sure. I can finally sleep at night. |
| 21 weeks 1 hour ago | loved my gift |
got one of the very sweet WE ON shirts the bball team wore at the preseason NIT in NYC. two thumbs up. |
| 21 weeks 4 days ago | I'm sure he's a great guy and punter, but |
that is one HUGE forehead! |
| 21 weeks 4 days ago | prediction: |
Michigan - 23 Cocks - 21 |
| 21 weeks 4 days ago | Penn State and Nebraska?? |
I don't think so, seeing as they're in separate divisions. If this gets changed, I could agree. I think Nebraska is more likely to adopt a strong rivalry with Michigan instead of Penn State. |
| 21 weeks 6 days ago | 78-46 Michigan |
78-46 M |
| 21 weeks 6 days ago | in other news... |
Good to see NC State leading Stanford by 9 with 6:00 to play. On a Tuesday night with no other meaningful sports on, WOOOO former opponents! |
| 22 weeks 4 days ago | well.. |
What about the travel distance now for Nebraska fans? The travel to Michigan and Michigan St. are no picnic -- you're definitely flying. And what about the distance between divisional opponents Penn St - Wisconsin. Or Wisconsin - OSU. Or Minnesota - Michigan. Or Minnesota - Michigan St. These are all really long drives as it is. I don't think knocking the inside-outside lineup due to geography holds much weight compared to what we already have now. |

| 22 weeks 6 days ago | really great story. |
I got chills reading this. Onions were cut. |
| 23 weeks 3 days ago | whew |
First time ever? watching Womens' Volleyball and it is pretty damn entertaining. Michigan dominated the first set and somehow pulled out the 2nd set after being down 3 late. Sparty NO! |
| 23 weeks 5 days ago | yeah, you said it wrong |
Schadenfreude is essentially getting pleasure out of someone's pain. So, in this instance, it would be an instance of schadenfreude for us to enjoy seeing Wisconsin fans who are really, really sad to see Bielema go (which doesn't sound like too many). That's why 'this week in Schadenfreude' that Brian writes is all about fanbases who lose big games -- because it's entertaining to see people so upset. |
| 23 weeks 6 days ago | I love it! |
Turico is a Michigan guy, and Gruden is the man. I guarantee you Gruden will watch 20+ hours of film on both South Carolina and Michigan and be fully prepared to break down the game as he sees it. He's a coach at heart and it will be great to hear his insight on our team. |
| 24 weeks 1 day ago | my guess.. |
I think Vegas will favor the Cocks by 6.5 |

cough cough... erm, it is the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl I'll have you know... |
| 24 weeks 2 days ago | nope. |
it's wins OR losses. They have two more wins than us. Capital One's choice is Nebraska or Northwestern. And judging by how Ryan Field looks on a weekly basis, I think we all know they are taking Nebraska. Looks like we will be going to Outback or Gator. I am thinking Outback, because again, I doubt they take Northwestern over us. |
| 24 weeks 2 days ago | F RUTGERS |
I hate Rutgers and ESPNU with the power of a million suns right now. So dumb. |
