Scanned the Indiana second half.  Wow that was brutal.  Did not see anything involving his head that would lead to believe the concussion was sustained during that game.  Thinking it must have been a practice injury.  Yes, we are talking about practice.

The second half injury was to his ankle and he left the game with Michigan up by 17 and came back when Indiana was making their run and cutting it to 10. I believe he struggled (turnovers) initially because he sat for extended time not moving the ankle but then the whole offense was just discombobulated.

Man I feel terrible for him. He worked so hard to get to this point and now something out of his control takes it away. Let's hope for his sake the team plays hard for him so he can experience it Saturday.

I do wonder if he'll be able to ride down tomorrow morning and at least sit with the team.

It would be a great sign if Jones was on the bench but when I have had students with concussions, they tend to avoid loud noise venues, i.e. gym or music class.  So I would think he probably would avoid the arena for that reason...if he is there, that is a positive sign that he is getting over his concussion symptoms.

A tough beat; hopefully the team can win without him (they did win without Dickinson against OSU so they've shown some resiliency) and then he's healthy for the second round. I actually don't think they're going to put as much on Collins's plate as "Frankie Time" denotes. They'll obviously ask more of him that before but I feel like they'll shift more to Brooks and let Collins take forays toward the rim but not be asked to run the offense like Jones.

DeVante has impressed me as the season went on- he struggled a lot in the beginning but has shown he was super valuable to this team.

As far as this particular game goes- it will be won in the post. Dickinson has to dominate down low and kick it out to the shooters who can hopefully step up.

Collins was not a massive recruit for no reason. I'm really excited to see how he can handle extended minutes because he really hasn't had that opportunity yet. In the few opportunities he's had, he's been able to create a ton of chances at the rim- he can generally get past his man without a ton of trouble. Sometimes, given the spotlight, guys can shine- hopefully Collins will step up tomorrow and get them over the hump.

It could.  However, if he does not play against Tennessee I don't think motivation is going to matter.  Tennessee is actually good this year, not fake-good like in the past.  Barring outrageously good shooting from 3 I don't think Michigan will be able to keep pace to really even keep that game close.

Honestly, it's hard to differentiate what good vs fake good is.

I've seen some Tennessee teams in the tourney that have been stacked with talent. His 18-19 team had Schofield, Williams, and Bone- all elite-level college players. They didn't get out of the S16.

The common denominator has always been Rick Barnes. I don't care if they have 5 NBA players on their roster; for some reason, he's just never been a good tournament coach.

His 05-06 Texas roster was STACKED. AJ Abrams, LaMarcus Aldride, Daniel Gibson, PJ Tucker- and he didn't get past the E8. There's something about Rick Barnes and big situations- he just doesn't have it.

Assumed Vegas would've known earlier... but the line was still -2.5 this morning when I checked due to the "rumor" post. Now down to -1.5, which is less impact than I expected from this news.

The hope now is that Frankie and Kobe come "of age" in the tournament. It's the perfect time to step up and be a 'hero'.

And ideally with a win, Devante can make it back for the round of 32.

Sucks for Devante.  Really hoping they advance so he gets to play in at least 1 Tourney game.

Question, Even if he cant' play, why wouldn't he travel with the team?   (A quick google seems to say its safe to fly with a concussion even if its not the best idea)

The take a bus to Indianapolis.  The fact that he is not traveling would seem to indicate that he is not merely in concussion protocol but is actually having cognitive difficulties from the hit, I think.  This just happened yesterday.  The team "hopes" he will be available for Saturday if they win.  I don't think he will be.

Peppers down for the Orange Bowl

Dax almost down for the CFP

Livers out all of last year's tournament, which was likely the difference in the Elite Eight.

A starting Michigan QB seemingly going into the OSU game injured every single year before this one.

And now this.

I'm not so naive to think that injuries don't happen to every team at some point or another, but it is a bit coincidental for sure that key players seem to always go down at the worst possible times for Michigan.
