Truck looked nice, but it was a nissan - I know they sponsor the Heisman. Any of the US Big 3 trucks would have looked even better!

Hey JACK ASS, it is and always has been a Japanese (or Japanese & French) company and any real trucker will tell you that the US 3 still make the best LD trucks. And I probably know far more about trucks than you ever will.

It is assembled in Mississippi but all the profits got to Japan. I side with Mike Illitch and support our local Detroit automakers. At least those porfits stay local.

Holy f*ck all you people driving your imports should remember that Michigan residents still depend a heck of a lot on the success of the big 3 and their vendors for their income. I live in DC, also known as the District of Corollas and my wife and I proudly drive our twin Ford Escapes.
Do make yourselves feel better by buying into the nonsense that companies like Toyota and Nissan employee more Americans and that it's better for Michigan's economy that the big 3 be dominated by the Hondas of the world...
The big 3 vehicles are all substantially better than they were in the 70's and 80's, and if you aren't going to give them a try, the least you can do is not downvote a Michigan guy for preferring them.

and shove it. They are corporations. They don't care about you or I.(which is why they sent their factories overseas). Corporations look out for themselves which is understandable. They aren't charities. They exist to make profits.
Stop it with with the economic nationalism bullshit. My grandfather served in the Pacfic. He had a helluva lot more on the line than any lineworker does and he didn't care that my Dad bought a Nissan(and then Hondas). That's more than good enough for me.

rationality speaks. "Be American Buy American" DIED when corporate America proved it valued GREED over American workers - leaving its own shores for more profit.

I have been in the automotive business for over 35 years. My company supplies tooling for the automotive industry. And we build tools for all the Big 3 and the Japanese. BMW as well at times. It’s a crazy business to be in with all the ups and downs.
Japanese brand pickup trucks sell all over the world but in the U.S. they just cannot break into the Ford, Chevy and Chrysler loyalty. U.S. brands control 93% of the pickup truck sales. They are all assemble in North America (Mexico and Canada) with parts coming from all over the world. It’s a worldwide industry.
Interestingly, Michigan still produces more autos and truck than any other state in the U.S. And Camaro production will move to Lansing next year.

These commercials portray Woodson as a badass even among other Heisman winners. Nissan's marketing team has a good grip on reality.
September 2nd, 2015 at 10:04 PM ^
He's pretty good when they play two hand touch though.
Sidenote: Playing any sort of football in helmets but not pads seems like a terrible decision.
September 2nd, 2015 at 10:11 PM ^
so they can show the constantly changing Oregon jersey. It looks like Woodson was the last man standing judging by the chalkboard so there is that.
The one you posted is my favorite although the one posted by the OP is awesome.

Good point, anyone know if one of the marketing team exec's or decision-maker for these commercials is a UM alum/fan?
September 3rd, 2015 at 7:21 AM ^
I thnk a lot of it has to do with the fact that he's still playing in the NFL, and doing well. So from a marketing standpoint maybe that makes the commercial more appealing to larger demographics than just college fans?
