Damn you auto correct, the title got me and I don't see a way to edit

Because we get to have all…

Because we get to have all of the things gotta go with Christine, if things like time travel were not part of it, gotta go with the General Lee

"I also think the NCAA puts…

"I also think the NCAA puts guys in tough positions where they can't transfer to a better situation unless they jump through certain hoops.  I don't know if Hudson spoke up about his mental health issues at UM, but I don't think it should matter in terms of the NCAA granting him a waiver.  He should be able to go to a better situation for him, and if the NCAA's stated goal is athletes' health that should be enough.  But we also live in a world where "I don't feel safe at this school because some asshole said a racist thing in the stands" (and apparently my sister still feels safe enough to enroll and play softball) and whatever bullshit Tate Martell used to get immediately eligible at Miami works."

I think this is the exact thing that Harbaugh was getting at in his comments. If the NCAA cares and student athlete health is a priority it shouldn't matter. If that is the case it could easily have the effect of players wanting to transfer without sitting out using mental health as a reason and having no requirement of proving they have a condition. I didn't understand the outrage from the twitterverse and news media saying he didn't care about mental health when it seemed to me he was saying the opposite and we shouldn't put student athletes in these positions which will end up lessening how serious these conditions can be.

I have the same delay issue…

I have the same delay issue with hulu and have to ignore ESPN updates on my phone during games I'm watching.

I cut the cord about a year…

I cut the cord about a year and a half ago after having directv for over a decade and generally being happy with the service they provided. Because of that I didn't have a bundle discount with my internet and was paying about $120 a month for tv alone. I went with the amazon fire cube, already had amazon prime, and hulu live. For me that translated to a one time cost for ~$150 for the cube and ~$45/month for hulu live. I was able to watch every Michigan football game while living in North Carolina. I recently stayed with a friend that had directv and after having hulu for over a year at that point found myself dissatisfied with directv and couldn't see myself going back even if I wasn't saving ~$75/month.

I just got this …

I just got this "advertisement" and I'm not quite sure what to think or how to feel about it.mgoboard.JPG

In that scenario

In that scenario we would win the tie breaker.

But that would also mean that one of OSU and MSU would have two losses due to us beating both of them and they also have their own head to head matchup.  That would invoke the first division tie breaker of head to head result and we would have the win.

2023

This is for 2023 with John Smith starting at Guard.

It looks like the same answer?

The way the B1G tie breakers are written it looks the same.  OSU with a better record would win the division even though we would have less division losses in scenario 1 in scenario 2 we would win.

Link in OP

If two are tied it's head to head.

For three:

1. Records against each other

2. Division Records

3. Record of comparable teams in division

4. Record against common opponents

5. Playoff Rankings

Bowl Tie-ins

With the start of the College Football Playoff the B1G renegotiated their bowl tie-ins.  The Bowl tie-ins we have now are in order

1. Playoff

2. Rose Bowl (if not in playoff)

3. Orange Bowl (if not in playoff)

4. Citrus Bowl

5. Outback Bowl

The Cotton and Sugar are no longer available like they were in the BCS.

For the sake of argument

Your point is completely valid and would be the likely scenario, but for the sake of argument let's say MSU ended up the highest ranking of the three of us and found their way back into the playoff.

The start of my Michigan fandom

Don't forget that Jamie Morris was in the backfield with those guys in 1988.

Illinois?

I guess we could get to play them in the B1G championship game...

Simple syrup recipe

For those that dont know and are too lazy to google...simple syrup is equal part sugar and water brought to a boil then cooled.

bye week trouble

The bye week isn't consistent from year to year, the best choice is to do it in the spring or early summer to avoid conflict altogether.

Same question/comment

I logged in to say the same thing.  I have asked Directv in the past and it has never been something they would do.  I would even be ok with an idea like making a sports package you can buy like Sunday Ticket or Extra Innings where you pay annually and get the broadcasts for one team from each of the four pro sports.

Regional differences

I have lived outside of Michigan most of my adult life and the only Michigan football game that I can remember not being televised was the Michigan @ UCONN game.  I lived in Arizona at the time and due to some kind of Big East TV deal it was ABC only East of the Mississippi and not broadcast West.  Having lived in Tennessee and now Georgia between BTN and ESPN all Michigan football games have been televised.  I havent paid close enough attention to any other sport to notice how often they aren't.

+1 million mgopoints to you sir

I literally got off the app and logged in on my phone just to upvote you.

Just the opinion of one vet

Whatever the number is doesnt resonate with me.  The individual men that I was friends with that didnt come home, thats what I remember.

You are correct

I am not sure about the supreme court case but years ago there was a considerable amount of media coverage because the state of Louisiana made the legal age to consume 21 but you were still allowed to purchase at the age of 18 and the federal government started threatening their highway dollars.

The reason for the random number

Being legally intoxicated at a BAC of 0.08 is tied to lobbying done by "Mothers Against Drunk Driving".  The federal government while not in a posistion to force standards on individual states, are able to take a back door measures to enforce what they want.  In this case the federal government tied tax revenue for road repairs to drunk driving standards each state has effectively forcing each state to comply with the federal 0.08 standard.  While accidents associated with drinking alcohol and driving are above zero at every level of BAC there isnt a real spike in percentages until about 0.15 nearly twice what the current standard is.

Title change?

The title makes it look like the new episode is already posted and this is a link.

reality check

It is assembled in Mississippi but all the profits got to Japan.  I side with Mike Illitch and support our local Detroit automakers.  At least those porfits stay local.

Well put

You make a lot of good points and I still reach out to my parents for guidance on some things, however, you lose out on the opportunity to have someone that society says is already an adult to do adult things like be held personally accountable for their actions and to have to face learning from their mistakes head on.  All situations are different and call for different responses but I have seen a number of people that have had alcohol and drug related incidents and their parents getting involved to try and help their chilldren to not make bigger mistakes only served to cause larger issues in the future because they didnt have to pay full price for their mistakes early on.

Legal Issue

If this is a legal issue why not involve law enforcement?  It seems kind of odd that when a young person is trying to figure out how to be an adult the institution that is supposed to help them figure it out says if you do this we will run and tell your parents.

Neg away

what he did as a player is among the all-time greats. If you want to hold him accountable for his actions as a manager and say he can never be associated with baseball again that's fine and I agree with it, but what he did as a player? There is no question.

Pete Rose

Every baseball commissioner who has kept the all-time hit king out of the hall of fame for something he did as a manager. Players who have cheated while playing the game are in and he is not, that is a travesty.

lived on the west coast

having lived on the west coast for a total of four football seasons, I can say definitively that I would not make sure I was awake and in front of my television for a noon eastern kickoff unless Michigan was playing. if they were I was pregaming by seven and if not I might catch the second half of a game that looked interesting.

I still remember his long touchdown run in the Rose Bowl like it was yesterday

how % chance of rain works

the way the weather forecast works as far as % chance of rain works is as follows: if there is any chance (in this case 80%) the percentage reflects the amount of the forecast area will receive rain therefore if it's 80% chance it means that there is a 100% chance of rain occurring but only 80% chance it will happen where you are...much like it's a 100% chance that Jim harbaugh will coach next year but currently will only coach 80% of Michigan's games

I am not trying to defend Frank Clark but...

everything that was said in the article was referenced either from witness statements from people that were of relation to the alleged victim or from a view of he is guilty. I am with the majority as it relates to his standing if he is guilty but before we go any further can we wait for some kind of evidence beyond a local newspaper report before we convict this young man.

The rivalry from SW Michigan

I really like the idea of this thread and was considering starting one myself but had the same worries as the OP. I grew up in Southwest Michigan on the Indiana border closer to South Bend than any school in Michigan. We had a lot of fans of ND which made the rivalry significant growing up along with the fact that Michigan was at its peak of success in my lifetime and ND wasn't that far removed from their own recent success in 1988. I grew up watching the great battles with Desmond and the Rocket providing great early season fireworks and the ND hype of will Ron Paulus (spelling) and will he be the first three time Hiesman winner. Now having been away from Michigan for what is essentially my entire adult life galvanizing my Michigan loyalty and fandom I think it really sucks that we are going to not have this game anymore. I am about to make the four hour drive from my house in Georgia to my childhood best friends house in South Carolina and we will see the last chapter in this rivalry and have these moments solidifying the fact that ND is the worst neighbor in the history of neighbors and know that our win will be a nice final twist of the knife in their jealousy of why we are better.

maturity sometimes comes with maturity

I was 24 years old and had already spent multiple years of my life overseas in defense of our country and still managed to make mistakes that I would probably be burned at the stake for on this board if I played football for Michigan. If it weren't for people that saw potential in me I know I wouldn't be where I am today in life. While his next chance is not going to be at Michigan, I hope this young man the best and hope he learns from his mistakes and can use it for good, much like Billy Taylor was able to rebound.

Coach Jackson recruiting

If Coach Jackson had his way he would recruit him with the speed of Tyrone Wheatley, the moves of Jamie Morris, and the power of Leroy Hoard...except faster, stronger and with better moves.

Devin Funchess. If I understand tight end numbering correctly they can wear numbers in the 90s and he is poised to be a breakout freak.

Some more ideas

I have used with success Honey and worcestshire as stated above.  To go along with brown sugar I have started adding a little saigon cinnamon.  I also have incorporated seasoned salt balance some of the sweet from the honey and a friend of mine incorporates apple juice into his sauce (primarily for chicken).
