I’ll take games I’d love to see for $1,000, Alex . . . DAILY DOUBLE . . . Hail!!!!
December 8th, 2021 at 8:09 PM ^
The secondary market is already multiples above that.
December 8th, 2021 at 9:17 PM ^
That is listed price. It would be interesting to know if any of those are actually selling. It seems hard to believe that there are 70k people out there who would pay $500+ to go to a football game. It'll be interesting to see what happens to secondary market prices as the game gets closer.

I'd be shocked if a Michigan-Alabama championship game saw tickets below $500
December 8th, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
After closely following the Big Ten tickets (every hour on three different resale sites) I’d actually be surprised if they dipped. There looked to be very few for that game under $300 and the playoffs are yet higher stakes.

Great to see sports phased out of the middle-class's reach (this isn't a novel notion, I know). Love it.

Never. I mean NEVER would I have dreamed this up for this year. Crazy. I love Michigan, but I love this particular team. Something about this team is my favorite all time. I've been a hardcore fan for 30 years but this team has something special. I would pay that to see this team in the National Championship. (weird even typing that)
Beat Georgia!! Go Blue!

Upper deck seats are going for $1500 on StubHub. And that’s before fees.
December 8th, 2021 at 8:47 PM ^
Rather than spend that kind of money to be up in the nosebleed section with a marginal view, I think I'd rather be home with friends and family, steaks, ribs or some other delicious meat, a veggie tray to give it the appearance of being a healthy meal, and plenty of cold and hot libations to cheer everyone's mood.
GO BLUE!

Ok but where’s the whole milk
December 8th, 2021 at 8:36 PM ^
I know it’s a long shot, but I’ll be looking for 3 tickets if they beat Georgia. I already booked my flight from AZ.
December 8th, 2021 at 8:42 PM ^
it ain't no fuckin long shot
December 9th, 2021 at 12:38 AM ^
The long shot for me would be coming up with the dough to pay for three tickets.
December 9th, 2021 at 8:04 AM ^
Awful wording on my part. I meant it’s a long shot to find reasonably priced tickets. I fully believe we’re going to beat Georgia!
December 8th, 2021 at 8:45 PM ^
After my point total wasn't enough to get semi final tickets, there's no point of me requesting final game tickets sadly.
December 8th, 2021 at 8:50 PM ^
Beat Georgia.
?

I think I could find better ways to drop $4-7K needed to take my son to that game (when you count flights and hotel)
but man it's tempting to book a surprise Christmas vacation for my family to Florida for some sun and the beach...
"Oh and honey, since we are already here...."
maybe I'll settle for a new TV instead
December 8th, 2021 at 8:59 PM ^
I put in my request. At my point level, they’re only allowing me to request two tickets. I did get tickets for the Georgia game…so crossing my fingers for the Championship game!
December 8th, 2021 at 9:20 PM ^
I was only allowed 2 tickets also .... but WTF, gotta try !
Go Blue!
December 9th, 2021 at 1:05 PM ^
I'm glad you said that. I'm in the 2 max. level of points too. So maybe there's hope we'll get them. Getting a hotel room would be 5he next big challenge!
December 8th, 2021 at 9:03 PM ^
I was planning to go to the championship game, but $1500 is a bit steep. I have family in Indy so won’t have to pay for a hotel but still…. I’ll make that decision on Jan 1
December 8th, 2021 at 9:50 PM ^
Problem is they will no longer be $1500 on Jan 1. My friends and I are discussing whether to buy now in secondary market. If we make it, great. If we don’t, sell to at least recoup cost or possibly even make a little.
December 8th, 2021 at 9:12 PM ^
I guess I'll be having my bratwurst and beer at home.
December 8th, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Supply and demand. They have a limited supply, and I want a ticket…so yeah I will be putting in a request.
December 8th, 2021 at 10:36 PM ^
I put in my request. I was just above the cutoff for Orange Bowl tickets so I don’t anticipate getting any. However, you never know unless you try.
Every fan base in the playoff is within reasonable driving distance too (about 7-8 hours for Bama and Georgia fans) so I imagine this will be a pretty pricy ticket regardless.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:43 PM ^
They are putting restrictions on the higher donors for the number of tickets. Honestly I’m kind of expecting the priority points value to be slightly lower than the orange bowl. That being said the higher up donors got a chance to purchase additional orange bowl tickets after they were all “sold”.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:40 PM ^
Think of the demand this game would have. … when was the last time Michigan was in a game that could decide the national championship. Georgia has been in the same boat.
If upper bowl tickets for the orange bowl are $600-700, what would a national championship game go for within driving distance of the school. $1000 is cheap.
That being said I’m highly considering buying tickets if I don’t get any from the school on Dec 17th. If we don’t make it, there will be a lot of demand from Georgia on the Orange Bowl winner side.
December 10th, 2021 at 2:28 PM ^
The 1998 Rose Bowl. My ticket was $75.
December 8th, 2021 at 11:51 PM ^
The thing is the big donors are being allowed to request 6 tickets each, which will probably eat up a good chunk of the ticket allotment.
I don't know what the cutoffs for the Orange Bowl was.
With the secondary market like it is now, I suspect everyone is asking for tickets whether they intend to go or not, which is kind of a bummer. I wish they could prevent people from just flipping them.
December 9th, 2021 at 12:09 AM ^
Just FYI in case it's applicable, if you received an email from Tom Baird (University Development), they are also allowing you to get 4 tickets for the Orange Bowl and Championship Game through them as well.
December 9th, 2021 at 2:48 PM ^
There are only about 500 tickets available through the Development office and most people that applied for them will not get them. As of two days ago, there were at least 3,600 requests. Basically, the largest donors will get the tickets.
December 15th, 2021 at 6:38 PM ^
Minimum for national championship game ticket is 210 points
