Is Blake Corum Sam McDuffie + Stout

What a career McGuffie could have had here if he were shaped like Blake and didn't have to shoulder the beginning of the cursed era to which we are hopefully drawing closer and closer to conclusion.

Corums 2nd td run demonstrated the advantage of his stature. His feet just get to the ground faster and he made a slight cut while gearing up to top speed, and the free hitter number 27 didn't even impede his huge legs.

I was also amazed by Donovans first two meh 5 yard runs because his ability to zoom right out of his cuts. Only Chris Evans has displayed such footspeed in recent memory. He was undersized and still not as quick as either of our underclass backs.

No Blake Corum is actually a good football player at the college level m

Sam was a YouTube sensation that was prone to concussions.

Goodness, if he ends up as good as Dobbins was in 2019 then we have one of the best and most elusive B1G backs of the last 20 years. Dobbins and Zeke could find holes and space better than almost any backs I’ve seen….and I do hate that fact because it always showed up best against us. Would be nice if we had that guy this time.

I know you're just doing a couple friendly "yuk-yuk"s at the expense of a former notable Buckeye. And I enjoy the same sport from time-to-time. In fact, Quinn Ewers reminds me of a cross between Justin Zwick and Tate Martell. That boy is gonna be GOOOOOD.

That said, I looked up Clarett a few months ago and was actually pretty impressed with how he's turned his life around. Youngstown being a pretty awful place, Clarett started an organization called The Red Zone to help people from there (mostly children), who are struggling with substance abuse and mental health

Good for him, I'm glad he did something positive with his life.

You may be right. I hope so.

But "His feet just get to the ground quicker"?

That reminds me of when I was a kid figuring I could run faster if I took lots of shorter quicker steps.

If McGuffie had just learned how to lean forward, not run upright, and shift his momentum away from coming impacts... could've been special. But that's too many "ifs". Fun while it lasted, sort of. Mostly before he got here.

That defender who met Blake face-to-face in the hole, got juked out of his jock, never touched him and it resulted in a touchdown is still wondering what happened.

McGuffie had a nice career at Rice and a proverbial cup of coffee in the NFL. No shame in his game—he also ran track and is an Olympian bobsledder.

He has the vision and shiftyness of Barry Sanders, the speed of Reggie Bush, the tackle breaking capability of Marshawn Lynch, and the power of Jerome Bettis.
