Not gonna lie...I'm pretty disappointed in Wisconsin. I figured OSU was the biggest risk at the first loss, but fortunately they played an equally undisciplined bag of hoopers.

And it would have been pretty awesome for the first B1G loss to come at the hands of...the B1G in tomorrow's MSU-Minn game.

If that's the point the OP was making, he's wrong there too. Happ averages a 3 more assists per game, 3 more rebounds per game and 5 more points per game. He's not the same player he was as a freshman. He's improved in most every statistical category, better passer, scorer and post player on both sides of the ball. He was a good frosh, but he's considerably better at everything other than free throws (which he's obv terrible at).

Good showing by the conference. Wisconsin going winless hurts only a little as they would have been the lower seed in the next round.

Here’s hoping above all Michigan wins tomorrow and I wouldn’t mind seeing Minnesota coming away with the huge upset tomorrow night.

I honestly think Minnesota beats MSU tomorrow. If Coffey plays well the Spartans are in trouble. The Gophers have players who can score and Kalsheur looked good. Oturu and Murphy are bullies down low. MSU needs to knock them out early. If the game stretches longer I think the advantage goes to Minnesota

Listen bud, I love you. I care about you. I want to see you succeed in every aspect of your life. That being said, Michigan State is going to eviscerate Minnesota. There's nothing Minny does that MSU doesn't do ten times better. Unless they get a favorable whistle (possible) and foul out all their bigs, I don't see how it'll be close

Maaaybe. But "better" doesn't mean, "better at beating MSU." MSU last year was completely flummoxed by Syracuse's zone, and Tom Izzo decided to ground his lottery pick on the bench for some reason.

MSU knows exactly who Minnesota is and what they do. No secrets there. There is no reason for them not to demolish Minnesota like an abandoned building.

I mean, Izzo decided to play a walk-on in the first half of the last game and that game was tied late in the second half . That walk-on played in a total of 14 games this year and averaged .6 points and .5 rebounds. Don’t sleep on Izzo inexplicably playing Foster Loyer more minutes than Winston for no reason at all in today’s game

I think Izzo has got this game set up really well.  I think a lot of that Henry stuff and the (very foreseeable) aftermath was designed to, and successfully, get pressure off of his team and onto him.  One thing Izzo does, for better and (often worse) is manipulate.  He has manipulated this situation to take the focus and pressure off his players and put it in himself.  I think it was premeditated and that it will pay off.  I see MSU big.

Damn! And how do you know this???

Izzo is "out there". Not sure about his mental and emotional stability. I can identify...people wonder about me-rightfully so  :)  He's, generally, a very good teacher of basketball. Best coach I played for was an "Izzo"...not sure I would want my kid playing for him.

john, respectfully disagree.  izzo lost it, completely unhinged. i made the comment earlier comparing him and bobby knight - knight's outbursts were theatre productions designed to evoke certain reactions from his players.  izzo was genuinely out of control, incapable at that time of reigning it in.  did you see when he went at the kid a 2nd time in the huddle and had to be restrained again?  that wasn't acting, that was a dude who was out of his mind.

Not sure what Izzo has done to get this sort of 'master psychologist' respect and awe from you.  He's nothing more than an unhinged piece of shit as a person.  He'll protect his players after they assault some poor girl, but shit all over them publicly if they miss an assignment on the court.  Fuck that guy...

During the game itself, I disagree, but I definitely feel like he was all too eager to discuss it after the game, because it kept people from asking why they had so much trouble putting away Bradley.

It's the worst of both worlds. He has a volcanic temper and a willingness to hide behind it.

Go Golden Gophers!

I think it was all premeditated.  You have not seen that from him in a while.  I don’t think he had “lost it” or anything like that. This year he is pushing a lot of different buttons to get his team to overachieve and thus far he has pushed the right ones.  I think he pushed this one intentionally.  Not sure if it will work, but I think it is certainly a card he is playing.  Let’s not act like he has not taken “iffy” teams deep with dozens of different coaching tactics.  The guy is a dick but he isn’t a novice.

He pushed this one because he was on the verge of losing to a 15 seed for the 2nd time in a row, nothing else.  Dude knows he's rapidly losing his "Mr. March" reputation (for good reason) and he's desperately trying to prevent another killer upset.

I have 0.0000% confidence Izzo "planned" at screaming at Henry twice.  Not to get too political, but this is the same insanity applied to particular political leaders when it's just erratic mood swings of a 60-something bully who has gotten away with it.

I went 4-4 in my B1G picks and I had iowa st in the final 4 (hah) and wisc in the sweet 16. I got almost every other pick right, and the couple i got wrong i had as round of 32 victims anyhow. I only watch B1G games...so weird.

What's really important is that Michigan won.

This falls into the "well, that's nice" category.

Also in that category: Zion Williamson scored 25 and looks like he could do that for five more games. What's more relevant to me is that if he averages 25 for six games (I'd like them to play, at most, five) he'll be lauded as a tournament great... and finish 34 short of Glen Rice.

if anyone is surprised by the WI loss, that is on them.  Happ got the benefit of BIG officials the past two years; much like winston/sparty.  I am not surprised at all that they got spanked on a neutral site against a mediocre team.

kuddos to the rest of the BIG.  but to hell with sparty.

Go Blue!!!

Oregon is pretty good. They’re similar to us last year in that they kinda sleepwalked through the regular season, got hot at the right time and won the conference tournament. Injuries kept them from really competing during the regular season. KenPom had them as the 38th best team in the field, probably should have been a 7-10 seed.

Edit: said last year, but meant 2017

Don't worry about "they".  "They" may later claim we don't play anyone.  "They" tend to root for the underdog and Michigan ain't no underdog.  Go little brother(s).

The NCAA has a noticable ACC bias.  I hope the Big 10 jams a slew of victories down their throat.  Notice how their favorite ACC teams can go for a while before they have to face a Big10 team.

Other than that, I guess I don't really care.

7-1 is one better than I had in my bracket because of Iowa's comeback vs Cincinnati.

What I really hoped for, though, didn't happen, as OSU survived Iowa State.  No damn way would I root for the buckeyes.

From November 6th to February 27th, yes, Oregon generally sucked. Then the next day they played Arizona State at home and won by 28, setting off a string of wins that has now reached nine in length with an average margin of victory of nearly 18. Their rank on Torvik in that span? #2 in the country.

Also, Wisconsin was consistently behind by 7-10 points throughout that entire B1G semifinal. At no point did it feel like they were any real threat to MSU.
