Athletic Department
My questions. Who the fuck are these people? Why do they have the power to do this? I mean, if I'm the AD and I hire someone, I would fucking lose it if I found out these things were going on. What gives?

More specifically, he's responsible for Olympic sports - not football, basketball or hockey.
Let's all take a deep breath and not fly off the handle just yet.

But as a former assistant football coach, high up in The AD, you honestly think he minds his own business and stays silent re. Football?

Nepotism: Nepotism is favoritism granted in politics or business to relatives. Cronyism: Cronysim is partiality to long-standing friends, especially by appointing them to positions of authority regardless of their qualifications.

I was voted 'Most Likely to Become a Crony' in my high school yearbook. Is there an opening?

IN an office setting, when there is a shake up at the top level, everybody is trying to cover their asses.
Got to feed the monkey.

This is why I seriously want someone with no Michigan ties. Someone who won't hesitate to lay down the "my way or the highway" structure we need.

He need to fire all assitant AD and hire new staff from outside. Then the next step is to hire a HC.

Question: Who is left to be nepotistic? Dave Brandon fired or force-retired damn near everybody from the old regime. There isn't anyone left.

It's not really about who isn't there anymore. I can tell you from experience that there is something about this (and maybe all) University environemnt that lends itself to a feeling of superiority the second someone gets in a position of even the most limited power, and they seem to immediatley attempt to weild that power. I don't know if that's to prove how "important" they are or ?? but it happens constantly and from what I hear our department is the norm rather than the exception in that respect so I'd expect the Athletic dept. to be no different. In my own dept. someone - who is a UofM alum - was very shadily (yes, I made that up) fired, and then, seemingly just to give a final FU, chose to do this thing depts can do to former employees banning them from coming back to the U to work - anywhere else, not jsut in that department. IMO this was because the bosses in my particular dept. are from Eastern and MSU and they felt that UofM degree just pissed them off, but that's just my opinion on the matter - that I of course keep to myself at work. ;)
Point is - cronyism seems to just be business as usual at UofM.

One could reasonably argue that Lloyd Carr and Mke DeBord should be banished from the department, if not the program, for their active sabotaging of Harbaugh, Miles, and Rodriguez. They couldn't care less evidently that their actions have hurt the team, the program, and the Univesity at times. They are dead to me.
I obviously have no say, but I want them gone.
