What if Harbaugh is leaking all this knowing he’s gone anyways and making it sound like he really wants to return but in reality it’s all just smoke and this way Warde is bad guy and not Harbaugh himself if he leaves?

But Harbaugh doesn't lie.  Last year, he could have claimed all the NFL stuff was rumors and smoke, so when it fell through he could have maintained some air of longevity at Michigan.  He did the exact opposite, even telling recruits he was looking at the NFL seriously.

So, he may be allowing the truth to be released like this, but I highly doubt he's allowing this out as nothing but a smokescreen to bail behind.

Oh, fuck the NCAA. Who even knows what "lying" means in their fucked up universe? What, they didn't like Harbaugh's answer when they questioned him about a receipt for a burger from The Brown Jug? I don't blame Harbaugh if he told them to fuck off. In fact, I hope that's exactly what he told them.

This has gotten so weird. As someone once said,"The great thing about the Internet is that anyone can use it. The bad thing about the Internet is that anyone can use it."

of all the shyte that has been reported, leaked, sourced from anonymous places.... this does seem to be the most likely to be true.

I have contended all along that Warde may not be nearly as bad as most are indicating he is, but then again..... he very well may be.

Once Jim gets a contract he's happy with, maybe he and Santa should sit down and work on a list of potential AD candidates....

From following him on Twitter today and re-reading his tweet, this is NOT his info. It is a repost of paywalled post from 247 that someone else posted.

So he seems to be saying this info is credible from his POV. But he’s been very active on Twitter lately and making Warde out to be the bad guy - which I’m starting to believe more and more.

I think this guy is all speculation. If JH signs he will boast I told you so. If JH leaves it's the mean man Warde fault. I don't believe him, JUB , Sam Webb or anyone else knows shit. But that's just my speculation

If this is true, it should be pretty straight forward to get right with Harbaugh and keep the train rolling, so go do it Warde et al.

Also, if this is somewhere in the ballpark of true, and we still somehow lose Harbaugh over this, Warde has to be fired.  Not should be, or even will be, he has to be as he will have willingly torpedoed the program.

This all seems so stupid and unnecessary. Also, a little unbelievable.

Also, let's be really honest here if there is truth in whatever this is, it's a bad idea for a university president to be so intimately involved in the negotiations to keep a football coach. It was bad when Mary Sue intervened, it's bad when Ono does it, too. There's such thing as a president who doesn't care about athletics, but there's also such a thing as a president who cares too much. They really, really need to tread carefully here.

I agree to some extent. But it’s been shown that strong athletics can lead to increased donor amounts, increased applications and therefore money, increased quality of applicants, and so on. Not sure about at Michigan specifically but the president can make themselves look really good by having a damn fine football team.

Meh. I don’t buy this narrative at all. It’s too convenient. “Jim wants to commit to M forever but mean ol Warde won’t give him what he wants.”  Please. Sounds like fan fiction from someone on this blog.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if that's the truth at all given the fact Warde seems to not want to play the NIL game and other hints we've received. I would assume Jim is the type of character to get a little pissed off about being forced to compete with one hand tied behind is back all the time.
