Anderson staying at Stanford

Perhaps Harbaugh will address the coaching search this morning. As of the time of this post he hasn't been on yet.
Michigan: Listen to Jim Harbaugh 9 am ET on Mike & Mike on ESPN radio in the On Air section of SportsCenter app (ESPN) ...

I got a notification about it. Still hasn't been on and haven't heard any mention of him.
Wondering if this wasn't just a ploy to get all of us insane Michigan fans to listen to Mike & Mike this morning....

Just got another notification. Coach will be on TUESDAY at 9am.

Well, shit. Next we'll hear that Durkin isn't coming either.

my ex wife, except the uphills were 10X the downhills, and she always made me feel much lower than that stick thing they measure you with to see if you can ride.

Did anyone else want to puke this morning when they saw Marrow and Turley weren't coming? Went to bed last night thinking this was going to be the best staff ever assembled and these guys were already on their way them bam, they're not.
January 5th, 2015 at 9:31 AM ^
Do we know for sure that Turley isn't coming? I get that Marrow was up in the air so that's not a surprise, but Turley... man, everyone confirmed. Brian did a Hello post, fergodsakes!
January 5th, 2015 at 9:40 AM ^
We got Jim Harbaugh. On December 3rd, it looked like Schiano or Cutcliffe may be our coach. Now that made me want to puke.
Don't worry.
January 5th, 2015 at 10:55 AM ^
Exactly. Thank you.
January 5th, 2015 at 9:29 AM ^
After the last 24 hours, I am ready for Harbaugh to annouce his real staff and let's get this thing started. The rumors flying around are doing more damage than good IMO.
January 5th, 2015 at 9:37 AM ^
Agreed. Don't want to lose too much momentum from the initial Harbaugh hire.
I'd love to see Durkin, Mattison, Manning, Jackson, and Drevno formally announced today.
Edit: My biggest issue with this is that Swenson was given this info before it was official. How many people look bad because of that?

Well, at least Brian didn't do a Hello post.

It's just frustrating because we swing and we miss but when Ohio State swings they get everything they fucking want.

When you put it that way, maybe I'm overreacting.
January 5th, 2015 at 11:02 AM ^
So now we're a little disappointed and peeved, even though we're getting everything we thought we were getting when we walked in the place... human nature
January 5th, 2015 at 9:35 AM ^
Honestly, as long as Durkin is indeed coming, this doesn't seem like a major problem to me. In fact, I was starting to worry that it was (as someone had mentioned) a potential 'too many cooks' situation in the making.
A bit bummed over Marrow and Turley (if the noises we're hearing are true), but come on, aren't we getting just a little bit greedy?
January 5th, 2015 at 9:40 AM ^
I've been on the DJ Durkin train for so long that getting Lance Anderson too just seemed kinda crazy. So as long as Durkin comes I'll be fine.
January 5th, 2015 at 9:53 AM ^
Yep, Im with you Decatur...losing Turley would be a much bigger loss. One of the reasons why Michigan was unsuccessful for most of Hoke's tenure was bc of the strength and conditioning program. I know injuries happen and they are part of the game, but it seemed liked Michigan always had numerous guys suffering season ending lower body injuries. Also, Michigan was not very good in the 2nd half, and I know a lot of that is attributed to coaching and lack of adjustments, but they also looked soft and were pushed around. A S&C is probably the second most important hire of the offseason, imo.

And Turley. While David Shaw may be a good coach, he is now getting all of his players in the program at Stanford while Jim's have graduated, will he have the same success as he did previously. He has gone from 3 straight 11 win regular seasons to now 7 wins this year.
January 5th, 2015 at 9:38 AM ^
I thought getting Durkin and Anderson was a stretch...especially with Mattison staying on. Agree with the OP that while Michigan/Harbaugh was probably attractive the split very well may not have been. However, with all the talking and big names being thrown around I sure hope we land Durkin at this point...and the rumors seem to still be swirling about Turley. No Durkin would suck some wind out of the sails IMO.

January 5th, 2015 at 10:24 AM ^
to exact my revenge on Stanford.
January 5th, 2015 at 9:42 AM ^
Indeed, a staff with Durkin, Anderson and Mattison sure seemed to be a little too chief heavy. I wouldn't be surprised if Anderson was leveraging his connections with Harbaugh to get a raise in Palo Alto and Harbaugh knew all along that he likely wasn't coming.

Stop panicking.

was a little premature. quickest way to go from can't lose to oh shit is to miss out on both...

Anybody hear the rumors about Woodson returning as a coach? Is that just the internet dreaming?
January 5th, 2015 at 9:51 AM ^
dont play with my emotions like that.
January 5th, 2015 at 10:19 AM ^
I won't. I read the rumor and then the poster said that Woodson wanted to play one last year and then would consider coaching at Michigan.
I wanted to see if there was any other report of this.
The main reason I don't blieve it is because apparentely, his wine business is doing really well and I would think that he wouldn't want to spend all of his time coaching.
January 5th, 2015 at 10:58 AM ^
Are you kidding? For a guy like Woodson, there is nothing like the game of football. The wine business is very cool, but it does not fire up the adrenaline like game day. And Woodson is an adrenaline junkie. He has to be to have remained that competitive for so long. Would love -- love! -- him coaching our DB's.
