YES IT IS FANCY

The Book Kickstarter Is Here Comment Count

Seth and Jeremy have outdone themselves. Our annual preview mag is HAIL (to the victors); our championship book is (Hail to the) VICTORS; our mock-up is above. It is a very fancy book.

Our annual HAIL TO THE VICTORS previews are 128 pages of glossy softcover; this is 256 pages in a hardcover book format that is 50% larger. We have spared no expense on paper stock, cover feel, etc. This is as premium as we can ask our printer to make.

This book does not just cover 2023, but goes back to the start of this run in 2021. Inside you'll find:

HOW WE GOT HERE

A new piece from Brian recapping everything that led into the 2021 season.

THE STORY

Brian's season preview "The Story" pieces from 2021, 2022, and 2023, revamped.

GAME BY GAME RECAPS

MGoBlog game columns from 2021, 2022, and 2023 are collected, along with other items, notes, prognostications, visions, dreams, and whatnot. Technical breakdowns of how and why Michigan got to this place are interspersed, with a focus on the bigger games.

NECK SHARPIES

We've selected a few of Seth's detailed breakdowns to highlight the core components of Michigan's title-winning team: duo, the Ravens' amoeba defense, that kind of thing. The meat of the technical knowledge is in here.

ALL THAT NONSENSE

Alex Drain provides an all-new piece on the Connor Stalions tempest, contextualizing in the aftermath of Michigan overcoming all that to win the national championship.

THE YEARBOOK

Every player from the last three years to make an on-field impact is commemorated with all-new writing, from Christian Boivin to Blake Corum. An excerpt on Sherrone Moore will run later today.

PHOTOS

In addition to the photos speckled throughout the book, our photographers have a special section containing their favorite shots from this three-year run.

RUN DO NOT WALK

Kickstarter page is here. The Kickstarter ends at 8PM the day of the Spring Game. Tell your friends. Tell your enemies. Tell people you have no particular opinion on.

It will be a damn shame if  "prologue" isn't replace with "unfinished business"   and epilogue isn't replaced with, "business finished"

but that's just one man's opinion.

Just a suggestion, but it would be cool if the cover had a helmet sticker that commemorates the national championship. Not sure if that would pass the trademark lawyers, but would be a really nice subtle addition to the cover.

This will be a nice addition to the Harbaugh signed helmet we gave our daughter for Christmas. This will be out in time for her Birthday.

Will there be a way to send books to multiple addresses?  Not a big issue, but it comes up every time I get these things for me and my brother-in-law.

I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet or not but I figured I’d let you know in case others have the same question. Brian answered this on Twitter and said yes you will be able to ship to multiple addresses if you ordered multiple copies.

Here is his tweet.

The address is readily available on Google. 😁

I'm tempted, but I'm worried that ten other people might have had the same idea.  It'd be funny to send him one copy; it wouldn't be funny to send ten. 🤣

You can also get the Big Ten office address pretty easily with a search (they're in Rosemont, IL).  So, too, the Los Angeles Chargers'.

You can also find an address for Staee, but I think this book will have too many words and not enough pictures for MSU. 😉

I've never so blindly and so quickly paid for something. Can't wait to read through this with my daughter the same way I used to read through the sports illustrated '97 championship issue as kid with my dad.

I can't imagine something as narratively special as the last 3 years of Michigan football ever happening again in my life. I believe (and hope) that Michigan will win more championships, will 3-peat the conference again, etc. But will it happen on the heels of a decade of pain and BPONE, will it happen with a more special group of players, will it happen at another inflection point in the history of college football? I doubt it.

And that's why I'm in. For multiple copies. Gotta have gifts in 8 months.

I always buy HAIL from the MGoStore. Will that be an option, or do I have to purchase through Kickstarter? The reason I ask is that is that I don't have an account through them and don't want to set it up if I don't have to.

I have been reflecting about the deeper meaning of the cover and it is so clever it's almost brought me to tears.

You are seeing the back of the Michigan helmet, signifying that it's a look back on the past three wonderful seasons, represented by one helmet stripe each.  The helmet stickers are the numbers 1-144, with the most special team's number highlighted in maize

Is this the fastest funding in the history of Kickstarter?!?! Thanks for putting this all together and can’t wait to read it from cover to cover! Go Blue!

This is going to be so epic, and something I will keep and cherish forever. Easiest decision I’ve ever made to support this. Great job, guys.

Pledged.  My brother and I are coordinating so we can stock up on gifts for our whole family (which is made up of a variety of Michigan fans, alumns, and employees).

A thousands times IN.  And if the production of this august volume has in any way facilitated the pleasing dearth of men's basketball coverage this past season, then it's even more worthwhile.
