we beat a good uconn squad. makes us look better.

but it may even indicate that perhaps our defense is a little better than we fear? At least, that's what I'm hoping it means...

I am hoping so

...but Texas Southern is at the bottom of the SWAC and lost last week to Prairie View by something like 16-14. I am an eternal optimist, but it would be easier to read into this if TSU were even a reasonable team.

It's easier when they're not playing us!

today's game will tell. i expect a close one.

Then they lost to Michigan and suddenly were not the quality opponent everyone claimed them to be. Texas Southern must have read the papers and realized just how weak UConn is.

Purdue was tied to w. illinois late in the 2nd quarter, but followed by a quick 10 pts in the last 3 minutes to get up 17-7

Purdue is fortunate to be ahead. WIU drove deep in PU territory, but then threw an incomplete pass on 4th and 1. PU scored a TD, and then WIU fumbled the kickoff, giving PU a FG.

WIU also missed a FG in the first half. they were gashing Purdue.

UCONN will definitely be in contention for the the big east. They are a good team. It will be interesting to see how we play another good team like ND on the road. I think we'll play well and hopefully we will win!!!

they will definitely be in contention for the big east championship. i don't know if it's just first game blues or what, but the big east has been VERY unimpressive thus far. it took WVU until OT to take our Marshall which, by all accounts, should have put the game away late in the 4th. instead, they fumbled at the 4 and WVU followed up with TD drives of 96 and 98 yards. Marshall proceeded to miss a chip shot FG in OT to lose. UConn has more than a fair shot to win the conference, and I hope they do!

Prairie View A&M and they lost!!!!
I'm not too sure what that says. If anything UConn should be blowing them out of the water.
September 11th, 2010 at 2:07 PM ^
Our D is much better than Texas Southern, wasnt so sure that would be the case when Woolfolk went.
September 11th, 2010 at 2:08 PM ^
UConn didn't take it personal. They took it personally.

nothing football orientated to add?

if we're going to brag about being associated with a better academic school than other Big Ten alumni, we must get the basics correct!

Apparently their receivers learned to catch.

Holy moses. THAT, is a Texas-sized ass whoopin

As far as I am concerned, they are doing what they are expected to do. I have no problem with them destroying Texas Southern because that is why they are expected to do. The more they live up to expectation the more that reflects on how good of a team UofM really is. Also, this means close to nothing if we don't win today but whatever haha.

4 turnovers and 80 penalty yards, good lord Texas Southern
