OP is saying 15-0 but you just have to read between the lines.
like the Higdon and Evans 40 times. Not much new here besides some bench numbers and squats.
we might be young but Harbaugh played a lot of freshmen the last 2 years and a stud class coming in this year.
Think Wilton feels pressure, It's not in his makeup, But, He has to perform. Peters is the real deal and Harbaugh knows it. Good situation for M.
For Heisman, laugh now, but do me one favor and admit this: If we go undefeated or lose 1 and he plays entire season, he's in NY. ...
stays healthy, I think he's gonna win it again. He's so dynamic and I think Louisville will try and win him the Heisman. Of the last 5 Heisman winners that returned to school, 1 was Johnny Manziel, 1 was injured in the first game, and 3 were dethroned by incredible players that had incredible seasons (Tebow by Bradford, Winston by Mariota, Bush by Leinart). All three guys that didn't win after returning had also already won a national title. So if Louisville loses a game or two early, I think it's gonna be a season built around Lamar for Heisman. Plus scumbaggery aside, Petrino is a hell of a QB coach.
for sharing.
Good stuff!! Practice needs to get here already!!
Think about Griese in 1995. He was horrible. Speight looks better than that last year and has Harbaugh's tutelage (not that Stan Parrish was a slouch). I think Speight will be good this year with a young team around him, and then the following year he is going to have some HORSES around him and he'll be a full blown stud.
And that may be enough if we get peak Citrus Bowl Rudock and not early season/no chemistry Rudddock.
Good to hear Peters is developing into a starting calibur QB though, that's extremely important.
That kid is a genetic freak of nature. I'm really curious about his numbers.
His numbers were INSANE, but as I mentioned in that thread...we (should) expect them to be. That's what drew us to him in the recruiting process.
I'm FAR more interested in the progression of the freshman OL/DL. We know Samuels is going to run in the 4.4s and put up huge numbers for a freshman in the weight room. For him it'll be fall camp buzz that matters, has he picked up the scheme and can he pass block? For these OL/DL...they need a certain level of strength and measureables to even be considered someone who can challenge for PT.
Totally agree from a team perspective. This is just the fitness fanatic and exercise scientist in me that is fascinated with Samuels, his raw athleticism, and his physique. He can just do and look like something that is very rare. Not many people, even high level athletes, can look like that or do what he does. He and DPJ may be two of the very best athletes in the country, and they are both only 18 years old, and both on the same team.
I agree it will take him a few years to get the hang of scheme, blocking, adjusting the level of competition, etc. But, boy if he is able to do that it will be amazing to see what he can do with his physical tools when he's an upperclassman.
All of this running back talk and 40 times is just a bunch of hoopla. What matters is if you can break tackles, make guys miss, get to top end speed quick and yada yada etc. As most of this is mentioned above, I won't drag this on too far. Against the elite teams in college football, you're damn lucky to break a 30 yarder off. Where in the hell does that forty time come in at? Ask the mighty mighty jackass Robert Smith how much that track speed helped him in the NFL. Damn Vikings wasted all those years of good teams with that fuck head. No talent long strider.
seems like he's had bad luck with injuries...I may be crazy, but his body type, lean and style of running has always reminded me of Emmit Smith....might be tailback by committee, but plenty of talent in the backfield.
