Fingers crossed for Jake Earlymorning

realize that we need offensive lineman THIS year, not the next year so much....... so its great, but not for next year -- we need a grad transfer....

Wilson is considered to be very raw. His high ranking is due to his high ceiling. Leatherwood was probably the only OT we were in on that we could have penciled in as a starter right away.

really concerned about the o-line next year.... i stay up nites thinking about it..... i need a life....

hold the job there last year. Probably not a big difference though. Bredeson would need to step up, good chance he does imo, but LT is where someone really has to. There are probably going to be some issues in working together too.
January 13th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
a guy at RT that looked very bad at LT this year (who isn't young and probably not getting much better), a guy at LT that looked very bad at LG this year (who is young so should be better than last year but still probably not better than Braden), a true frosh or underacheiver at LG, and a promising but very inexperienced RG.
Night sweats...shiver. As Mr. Miggle said, that's a step back at both tackles positions and possible steps back at both guard positions (albeit possible improvements there too).

2018? That's nothing -
someone on here said after we get through the inexperience worries of '17 we're good until 2021 - now that's worrying ahead!

Sam Webb had that opinion until he saw him take coaching and play against the competition in the Army bowl. Now, he thinks Wilson may be able to compete as a frosh.
As for Fruhmorgen, I wonder of family issues means he's likely to transfer closer to home in FL.

is transferring. Family issues could mean a lot of things. It may be why he left the team in the first place, not so much a factor now. Plus, it's hard to just take their coach at his word.
I don't know who's putting Michigan out there as a possibility. If it's coming from the player's side, great.

from the Under Armor AA game, Isaiah's technique has come a long way in a short time, he said he could see him e able to contribute on the field this year.

Until he hurt his shoulder. Then left team to deal with "personal issues." Clemson was expecting him back next season.

Don't go out there alone when the Judge is dancin'

His feet are light and nimble. He never sleeps. He says that he will never die. He dances in light and in shadow and he is a great favorite. He never sleeps, the judge. He is dancing, dancing. He says that he will never die.

I always thought the Judge was the devil incarnate, and that while the Kid felt he had escaped the grievous sins of his past, there was going to be a reckoning.
Sort of "you can only dodge the devil for so long". I don't think there's any coming out of that outhouse.

It's a wonderful end to the story, in part because of the ambiguity. My view, without having given it deep analysis, is that the Judge is the devil incarnate, but the "devil" in turn is a symbol of the evil elements of human nature. And the outhouse is literally a place where life's shit ends up. The Kid's outhouse was pretty full, even though he was sometimes reluctant to commit evil.
With that in mind, here's my take. The Kid has a life poorly spent, lays low for years and years, and still ends up confronted with evil (the nekked Judge) and the foul waste products of his life. The Kid thought he had put his wretched past behind him, but in the end there was no avoiding all the evil he had done.
I thought that the Judge was the devil when he joins the Glanton Gang while sitting atop a rock in the middle of a barren desert with no apparent means of survival. The devil appearing to offer to "help" an important character who is struggling and hungry in the desert is a theme some might recall from another really well-known story!
But who knows? That's part of what makes the book so great.

Dude started on a national title team as a freshman. I don't know what the "personal reasons" he left are but I sure as hell want him!
January 12th, 2017 at 11:17 PM ^
Right. I mean, is our OL in any sort of a position to be choosy? Short of legal trouble or being a fan of Episode I, come on down, young man.

...last year's runner-ups as a true freshman (1 start, 11(!) games) and started the first 8 games this year at RT for the champs. Had a shoulder injury in/after Clemson's FSU game this year then sat out, between that and a personal issue. Per Coach Swinney at TigerNet.com on Nov. 9 (not $):
“Good news and bad news on Fruh. The good news is that he's improving on his shoulder,” Swinney said. “His shoulder is much better. There are no little issues, but he's got a personal issues with him and his family right now that he's dealing with. That's all I can say on that. His mom and dad are here. I will say this; he's never failed a drug test. He's not in any trouble, no team trouble. You can't have a more model player than Jake Fruhmorgen. He's as committed a guy as I've ever been around, as hardworking as I've ever been around, talented. He's the model of what you'd want as a player. It has nothing to do with anything that he's done or anything like that.
“Sometimes you forget, he's a big, old good looking strong guy and is a very talented football player, but sometimes we all forget that they're still young people and young people from time to time have issues in their personal life come up that can kind of get them off center and rock their world. He's dealing with a personal issue that's between him and his family. We're going to try to help him as much as we can and love him through it..."
Sounds like a great guy, hope his personal issues are solved for the best, and love to see him help us and get a Michigan degree.
