24/7 Says UM Still In It for Jake Raulerson
We got a board update yesterday that Jake was not admitted into the UCLA graduate programs that he preferred.
The Scouts article said this about him re-considering Michigan:
Even though he was told he'd be accepted into graduate programs at Stanford, Michigan and North Carolina, it appears that there aren't spots open for the graduate transfer at this late date.
24/7 said this today:
Michigan and North Carolina also remain transfer options, a source close to Raulerson told Horns247.
So there seems to be a chance.
That's a crappy thing to find out this late in the game
Would be a nice addition for depth, but it seems unlikely that we could get him through graduate admissions this late in the game. We also seem to have the starting O-line pretty set in stone, though obviously he would be a welcome rotation piece.
I'd like some Grant Newsome insurance.

Definitely wouldn't mind giving Newsome his redshirt year back so that he can shore up some of those mental mistakes in practice.
MOAR depth and options please.
Even if he's not starting, insurance for Newsome or an injury would be great. And if his best option is SMU right now, seems like he'd he happy to be the 6th OL on Michigan.
He has TWO years of eligibility - 2016 and 2017, so could be depth (or more) this year and possibly start next year. Want - shores up light '17 depth and maybe allows planetoid Onwenu to move to NT.
and friendlier.

He'll be in Pasadena or Miami -- somewhere like that.
Thus, he can just skip right over January-March weather in Michigan. It doesn't exist.
But less "chill"
it's The Big Chill.
Much better on the cost of living and the Harbaugh.
San Andreas is just your neighbor down the street.
I moved to the Bay 3 years ago and experienced my first earthquake shortly after. It was actually pretty fun (assuming there's no property damage). Lasted a good 5-10 seconds
Article yesterday said UCLA was out. Now sounds like it's SMU or maybe Michigan or UNC.
Im hoping that maybe the fact that we didnt sell him a load of bs about his chances to get into Ross give us a shot of working him into a different program and onto the roster.
probably would still be his preference, but he isn't getting into any of the top MBA programs at the Power 5 schools he's interested in (UNC, UM, UCLA). He said he wants to go into sports management, not necessarily get an SM degree. A top ranked MBA is probably better for that field than a SM degree anyway which is why he preferred that route. But without that an option, he's probably thinking SM degree is Plan B.
That's correct. I think the fact that we told him we couldn't guarantee him Ross, he decided to look elsewhere. Hopefully, he's going to put a high value on a school that is shooting straight with him. We've got the spot available!!!
If Michigan and North Carolina are truly the two realistic options, I hope he sees the academic scandals at NC and makes the right choice.
for UM right now. Our OL could really use him in 2017
maybe in the Evening/ Part-time program? I don't even think he would have to take "part time" classes to be in the program.
doubt it. Still a very competitive program that is likely already full. Plus, as a part time student, would he be eligible to be a "student-athlete"? I don't think so.
Not sure it would be a great look for Ross to give him admission but it would help the football team.
SMU just admitted him to its MBA program. That's probably the most likely scenario for him now, though he says he's still weighing his options.

If he was willing to take whatever offered he would have taken the masters in education at UCLA he was offered. He clearly wants a degree in something business related.
I kid I kid, kinda...

Is Oakland in play?
From Texas to almost UCLA, and with options Stanford and Michigan, he ends up at SMU. Ouch...
I liked him when Hoke recruited him.. .then less when he and father diss the Texas coaches for playing time....and less when he chose UCLA over us... even if he allows Cole to kick back to LT, I gotta wonder about him.
MBA Programs at: Stanford, M, UCLA, UNC, SMU. One of these things is not like the others!
You have to walk to class in snow at one of them.
Olineman, accepted into Stanford MBA program...bruh that's not a hard choice
