Georgia lost. There goes their hot streak
hot but does not have the depth to make a deep run. It was only a matter of time for them.
It's on ESPN 2, right? All I see is boxing on the guide... What gives?

espn 2 in about 20 minutes from now
So important to win this game and stay in the winner's bracket
will play LSU. LSU beat 'Bama and knocked them out.
GO BLUE!
I would totally watch Michigan dodgeball.

The answer to that is so obvious that it doesn't even require a response.
I'd probably watch curling if Michigan was playing. But dodgeball? Hell yes.

"The worst team"
So I think they ruled the runner who was like halfway to the pitching circle was in the base path, forced out, and then the base runner on first was safe at first but left the base, only to be assisted by a coach, therefore the run scored.
Apparently Big Ten replay officials are umpiring the WCWS.
You have it correct, from what I can see.
Just to add on, the reason the run was awarded was because the runner at 3rd had already crossed home plate, and the batter had already reached 1st base safely.
Actually, I believe the calls on that play were all correct, but they were very poorly explained. The runner going from 1st to 2nd was very much out of the base path so that was correct. The coach did touch the runner after she was safe at 1st but left the bag but this happened after the run had already scored so it counted.
Complicated play but I do believe they got it right. Which surprises me a little since ball/strike calls have been horrible for all the games at the WCWS so far. But I suppose those are more objective than the rest of the rules in the game.
They ruled she was NOT out of the base paths. Because I'm pretty sure if she was, that means it's a dead ball and the runner has to return to third base.
is actually not a dead ball. The play continues. This occurs frequently when a runner is at first and the ball is hit to the 2B. The runners are taught to NEVER run into a tag and go around the 2B. The Umpire will call the runner out and the play continues for the 2B to throw to 1B to complete the double play.
Strange, because in the replay they just showed, the umpire pointed at the runner before the throw got to 2nd, presumably to call her out. *shrug*
not seeing the game on Watch ESPN
ESPN2 Don't know the watchESPN app to know if they propose ESPN2 also.
They do all ESPN channels - they had the prior games that were on ESPN2. Just not showing this for some unexplained reason.
It's going to be a lot easier if we have a dedicated thread for our game, just like we do for most sports, so we'll keep this one. Also, the other thread was created hours ago and probably isn't getting much traffic as it is since most of us were waiting for this game specifically. I will say, however, that I have tuned in at various points today myself to catch some of the other games.
Let's do it, Wolverines.
Was it that hard for people to just say "sandwich"? It's not like you're saving any syllables by saying "sami".
Huge game tonight. Road to the championship series gets way harder for whichever team drops this game, especially given the Auburn comeback win. Heart going to be in my throat all night.

Welp. HBP puts the leadoff Sooner on on the 1st pitch of the game. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.
And Betsa plunks a girl with the first pitch.

Fuck Pittsburgh. They just went up 2-1 late in the second. I really SB to start so I don't have to watch another win for the most hated hockey team in my world.

For anyone confused about the implications of this game: If we win tonight we'll need to win 1 of 2 against the winner of LSU/UGA to reach the final. If we lose, we'll need to win three straight against FSU (1 game) and Auburn (2 games) to reach the final.

Ohh, it's on... And it started like shit.
And a single puts runners at the corners, nobody out. Betsa needs to settle in quick.
Is Darth Vader calling this game?
to show a strike graphic when it's called a ball. it's also a hilarious diss on the ump
Unbelievable - single up the middle scores 2. 2-0 Sooners, runner on 1st, and still nobody out.
