drinking thread and boss bitch

Submitted by wigeon on
Tough week here hard by the shore of Lake Michigan. Lots of snow, plowing, and all the associated bullshit. Nerves were frazzled, kids had to be shuttled, and suddenly i was on deck for dinner. I was just about to order pizza when i had stellar idea. 1. Brown meat. In this case it was duck sausage, but anything will do. 2. Add tomatos and onion to meat. On low 3; season to taste 4. Answer stoopid email from disconnected boss who has no grasp of reality. (Hey do you really think you can do 300k in February?). Yes you shitfuck, i can. 5. Brown corn tortilla 6. Spoon meat over browned tortilla and cover with cheese. Kill a Sierra Nevada and fire off belligerant email questioning bosses value. 7. Pull shit from 350 degree oven, smother in sour cream, and send another ratfuck email to boss asking why exactly he skipped the 10:00 call this morning and missing the explanation that the management team completely endorsed the solution, the only fucking thing he could've possibly contributed. 8. Eat. Long week. Thank God for this here cold beer. Drinking thread? Ok.

My last call of the day was with my boss, hashing out details of Monday's layoffs.  I'm not affected but some of my employees are.  Happy President's day.  Pass me a beer.

Contemplating either a single beer or finishing both (full) fifths of bourbon in my cupboard. January was mostly dogshit. February has been entirely dogshit.

My boss is a koolaid-drinker who prefers to punch down instead of run interference for her team. She works part-time (more like part-part time), assigns herself 0 of our team tasks, and none of us have any clue how she represents us to management. Hence why I'm currently looking for a different job.

Grapefruit Sculpin from Ballast Point. Always good. I've read recently that some people have noticed a drop-off in quality since Ballast Point was bought out by the big guys, but I actually see no difference. Interested to know if others have.

New Holland Dragons Milk Vanilla Chai and then Founders Backwoods Bastard. Also have a Perennial Sump Coffee Stout that I am looking forward to trying.

Oh I agree. Beers change considerably as they warm. You seem to like the ones I didn't care for as much. The toasted chili and coffee and chocolate variants were my favorites. I'll have to score a single bottle of the vanilla chai.

Did you see all the variants they'll have at the beer fest at the ball park in Comstock this year?

Those were good, too. I think they are all solid brews for regular drinking. They are definitely not as full-bodied as some other BBA brews that are sold as more expensive bombers but for the price and availability they are great.

I haven't seen the lineup for that beer fest. Will have to check it out.

I'm sitting on the balcony sipping contentedly from one of my MANY bottles of 30-year single malt scotches, all quite exquisite, mind you, while watching the waves crash against the beach.  Later I'll enjoy some 2004 Dom Perignon (not my favorite vintage) out in the back yard while the sun sets over the snow-capped mountains.
