Christian McCaffrey is a more versatile player, he probably would have gotten my vote. But, Henry is very very good, IMO. Can't wait to see Bama destroy MSU and curbstomp Dantanio's stupid face into a bloody pulp.

If McCaffrey played on any team not on the West coast or on USC, he would have won. (I do see the argument saying that Sanders didn't do KO/PRs and had 30+ TDs, but still who has been as versatile as Caff in recent memory? Nobody outside of maybe Honey Badger and then you gotta go back to Woodson)
I'm not that sad that Henry won. He clearly has character judging from his interviews and speech. He's certainly one hell of a player too, but the Heisman is more than the best player on the best team award, which it has become nowadays (outside of RG3 on Baylor)...
Keenan Reynolds got shafted in voting. It's a shame because back in the day players from BYU Houston Navy and/or Army could easily be finalists or win.
Nowadays ESPN has way too much influence in order to make some grand awkward presentation with their agenda driven garbage.

In the case of the service academies, I understand why people would value character more.

You said it man - I'm annoyed its become the 'best player on the best team' award. This is the most boring and un-interesting pick since, well Mark Ingram. I didn't watch that many of Henry's games but the ones I did watch did not really blow me away. Did he even have any signature runs/plays this year?
The fact that McCaffrey scored TDs in about 19 different ways shows me he's a versatile player and probably should've gotten it. And I went to Army-Navy yesterday and Keenan Reynolds set the the all-time career TD record, which to me is mind-blowing. How does that not qualify him as one of the best players in the country? The dude is amazing and got snubbed big time. Plus, if he was invited, he would've taken a military chopper to the ceremony after the game. That in itself is badass as hell and shoulve merited an invite on its own.
The reason I hate Alabama so much is that they're an incredibly boring team to watch and despite their constant winning, they never seem to enjoy it.
Henry getting the Heisman = boooooorrrrriiinnngggg. ZZZZZZzzzzzzZzzzz....

Henry is a good player but I think Mccaffery had the better season.

Watson had a pretty amazing season too. 3500+ passing yds, nearly 1000 on the ground. Oklahoma's QB also had a wonderful year. Lots of good players.

I haven't really followed Yeldon at Jacksonville but Alabama running backs haven't been the best when it comes to translating to the NFL. Ingram and Lacy are average at best, and Richardson is just a disaster. I understand that many Heisman winners haven't been all that great in the NFL, but it does make me quite skeptical of Henry when passed RB's who were mentioned in the Heisman race, or won the Heisman, from the same school that featured a NFL offensive line, keep fizzling out in the NFL.

I'd say Lacy last year was a bit more than average...pretty damn solid. WTF is going on this year I've no clue. Mark Ingram has also played pretty damn well over the years. I think they do just fine, honestly.

The talk around the league is that Richardson is not a hard worker and that has been his biggest issue, not talent. Also wouldn't rule out the Vernon Gholston Sydrome (stopped taking PEDs once entering the league)

years ago, like almost 20, we got put up at the downtown athletic club in NY when we went to play football there. that is the place that holds the heisman and it was an incredible facility at the south end of manhattan, with a view to the statute of liberty.
anyway, we get picked up by NYPD at the airport and they escort us to hotel in a fashion that will only happen again if i get elected president. we check in and then get treated to dinner in the beautiful, rarified wood paneled room where they hand out the heisman. they have the trophy on display and portraits of of all the heisman winners on the walls. all the heisman winners except one. guess who was missing? yep, OJ.

That's twice a Stanford player has gotten the shaft over an Alabama player. Gerhert deserved it in 2009 and McCafery deserved it tonight.

That guy was a shoe-in until the Alabama game. I don't know if I've seen a more precipitous decent in November.

Being undefeated and #2 then dropping down to 8-3 will do that.
