Charles Woodson appealing for 3:30pm start for The Game on Facebook
I have not seen this posted or mentioned, but Charles Woodson is appealing for a 3:30pm kickoff (or later?) for The Game. He states that he and Eddie George recently discussed this, they both are in agreement, and that they are trying to rally momentum for this idea.
Here is his Facebook statement:

Good for you. I was at Northwestern 2006 and 2008.
And it's SuperGuide, not super guide.
Get it right, moran.
This kind of thing is why you won't get the job that you're angling for.
Grow. Up.
Period.
Oh yeah? And what job is that?
I'll wait. Should be another amusing answer since you know nothing about me or what I'm pursuing.
It's almost December and you want to play into the darkness outside in Michigan?
It's not that cold in Michigan in late November. NFL teams (Green Bay, Chicago and New York) have all played night playoff games in the middle of January. As far as I know, no one has frozen to death.
Cuz lots of people do get heat stroke around that time.

The Game starts. They could play it at 3am and I'll still be watching. The people around me understand that there is one day each year where I am not to be bothered under any circumstances.
I do agree with the posters saying that the noon games are now usually played by teams no one cares about.
Does Alabama play LSU at noon?

But now....sigh. You don't really care what time it starts when you've lost any hope for a win and it's still September.
Now I'm depressed.

HARBAUGH
Better?
Move the game to 3:30 or 8PM - this is 2015, its time Michigan and the big ten started acting like it. Bama vs LSU, Auburn vs Bama - under the lights and its the must see game. Big ten needs that!
Now Michigan and OSU (really just Michigan) need to do their part and win leading up to it.
People that want noon - GTFO if you cant handle later games!! :)

I don't care what time it's played. But the newtwork does, and ABC pays the conference and schools for allowing it great influence when deciding which games will be played at what time with the school's having a final say on prime time contests. We already know that an evening start has been ruled out. And we already know that a midafternoon game becomes a night game in the second half in November.
Michigan has repeatedly played MSU at 3:30 pm in both Ann Arbor and E. Lansing. Michigan-OSU is sacrosanct in most respects based on when its played --the last game of the season and time is important --to many.
I really don'rt have a personal preference because the game is so special it transcends that concern, for me.
So, in my mind, the only question is whether you think there are inherent security risks and travel issues with a late afternoon contest. I think those are minimal. But maybe the game time should be determined as it is for most during the season, by the record and rankings of the teams and the significance of the contest before deciding that.
Here's the thing, though: If you claim you want to be considered a national elite and play the top teams, you play in prime time windows not in old school timeframes, even if it disrupts our cultural sentiment and tradition. We don't get hung up on when other sporting events between these schools are played. So, I think the question of when its played ought to be determined as other big game rivalries are played, when most are likely to watch, our feelings nothwithstanding.

Noon games are awful! I cant imagine living on the west coast with 9am football on a Saturday... But it may be better than needing to set aside a 3 hour chunk of time right in the middle of the day.

I prefer later games if I am attending the games. I prefer noon if i'm watching it from my couch. just my .02
It really makes no difference despite what people are trying to argue. We're all going to watch it all the same whether it's noon, 3:30, or 2 am
Both Chuck and I will be watching The Game from PST. I will be signing any 3:30 pm Kickoff petition, STAT.
Hey, some of us have to fly in! So whatever happens it woud be nice to know when the game time is in time to get decent prices on tickets. I have been storing up frequent flyer miles to pay for my four airline tickets, but I can't do anything until the game time is settled. And if I can fly back out on Saturday that is a lot cheaper (and less miles) because it is Thanksgiving weekend. So people have mercy on us fliers and decide on a game time as soon as possible! I have been counting on a noon game time. Can anyone tell me how likely this is? Am I safe buying plane tickets now based on this belief?
Let Purdue and Indiana play at noon.

There is nothing traditional about noon games, that was national TV dictating to us. 1 PM was traditional.
Whomever mentioned 2 PM traditional games better consult Jerry Lucas. I don't think there's ever been a 2 PM game in Michigan history.
3:30 provides a better opportunity for students and provides more exposure on the West Coast.

I feel as though I should care about this and have a strong opinion.
Oddly, though, I find myself not caring.
Favorite Days of the Year:
1. The Game
2. Fantasy Football Draft
3. Opening day of March Madness
Kickoff at noon but tell all OSU fans, players and coaches it's at 3:30.
Its "The Game" because it's the last game of the season between bitter, long-standing rivals. It has persisted as "The Game" in spite of it being at noon, not due in part to it being at noon.
Playing it a noon does it a disservice.
