Your unpopular sports opinions?
I think the NHL should bring back ties instead of gimmicky shootouts. I also think the NBA should institute a 4 point line that was talked about not that long ago. Would shake up the game of basketball like it was when the 3 was instituted.
No politics or religion, please. This is a thread on your unpopular sports opinions.

I am a firm believer in "Big Ten Uber Alles." I even root for the Buckeyes against out of conference teams. We might not like our cousin, but that's OUR cousin. Be damned if I want someone else to beat them other than me.

They should never be paid. They are not professional athletes, and if they want to be paid, they can pay taxes on their additional "income" and their scholarship award (i.e. tuition, room/board etc. etc.)
No sport should forbid a high school senior from entering any draft. If an eighteen year old wants to enter the NFL draft - let him. It is his loss of an education and his decision should be respected.
The entire bowl and playoff system in college football will never be fair until semi-finals are played on college campuses of the higher seed. Get this, the closest Michigan would play to home in the college football playoff? Atlanta, Georgia in the Peach Bowl.

That was, I think, a direct result of the quality of the Lion's O-line. That Barry Sanders did what he did playing for the Lions is a miracle.

Batters shouldn't be able to leave the box after every pitch to adjust there gloves for the 15th time of the at bat. I love you Victor Martinez, but you are the king of this pointless exercise.

Lance and other dopers should get their trophies back and be reinstated. They ALL doped, so what the hell.

Our doper beat their dopers.

But that's why no one is listed as Tour winner for those years. They don't want to honor anyone for that time.

10 shots.
3 points for cross bar.
2 points for side posts.
1 point just for going in the net.
If it hits the post and goes in, post/cross bar points awarded.
A new skills competition game.
Get rid of the targets. Too easy for pros.

I think On Wisconsin is a better fight song than Hail to the Victors...but not by a lot.

Playoff baseball is tolerable but it's to much of an 'old guys' game. The season is too long and the games are to long and slow. Again really talented individuals but just an awful game to air on tv.
Hockey is my favorite sport and hasn't been relevant since BEFORE the first lockout. The red wings fan base(which I am part of) me nuts with their main focus being on keeping the playoff streak alive instead of on the 11 cups won and looking towards more cups. Also the blind faith in Holland pisses me off although he has made some decent decisions of late in my book.
The last two or three years of the nfl has felt like it has been fixed and predetermined. The players aren't in on it but officials and owners feel like it to me but I could just be wearing a tin foil hat.
Lastly I'm still nervous despite having Jim Harbaugh. I didn't post my loyalty to UM as a fan until Carrs last year. I'm still a faithful fan but I have seen nothing to ease my thoughts so I am really quite nervous about the results

People that think something is wrong with offense in seemingly every sports just don't like defense, and I don't like them. Sometimes, things aren't broken - so don't fix them.
Soccer is boring to me, so I don't watch it. They make a lot of money despite my decision. Baseball is exciting to me, so I watch it. If it bores you, don't. They will continue to make a lot of money, don't change my game.
Charges are the most exciting call in college basketball, and I love Ted Valentine as a ref.
I love MMA but the UFC is ruining it. What it did to this point pushed MMA into the main stream, and that's fantastic. However, they now are over-extending themselves and have too large a roster with too many events. Fighters aren't getting fights, and other organizations are dying. Reign it in for the sport.
It frustrates me that NFL money isn't guaranteed. Baseball's salary model is the best in sports. The contract matters - when it's signed, it's done. If all sports could adopt this, they'd all be better for it.
There will be another NFLPA strike soon and it will stem from how the NFL treated Adrian Peterson.

Just make it half court...
If you can hit a half court shot or further, it's 4 points.

College bball should move the foul limit to 6, reduce the shot clock to 30 seconds and limit media timouts to two per half. Also, some of these touch fouls need to stop being called.
College football should have a running clock on first downs until the last 2 minutes of each half.
Even tho I dont watch much of the NBA, I think Lebron is overrated and will NEVER, EVER be close to MJ, regardless of his stats.
Pete Rose needs to be in the HOF.
Urban Meyer is the best coach in college football...right now.
I find pro sports boring compared to college.
I dont mind PATs.
I love baseball, but please speed the damn game up.

I don't really like Tom Brady. I'm not saying he isn't good, but he just rubs me the wrong way.
Superbowls are a bad measure of QB greatness. I'm looking at you Eli.
There should be a time limit on instant replay in football. If the refs can't determine a call in 45 seconds it automatically stands as called. Leave the human error in the game.

2000? Yeah, Yost murders the Big House
2015? No. Yost has been watered down and the boxes in the stadium have noticeably improved the atmosphere in there
At this point I'd say they're about equal. There's still glimmers of glory in Yost from time to time

Hockey: enlarge the nets from 4 x 6 to 5 x 7 to increase scoring. Increase the size of the rinks in the NHL to the Olympic size rink. Shootouts are great but they need to limit how far the goalie can come out of the net. Also clamp down on clutch and grab with no hands or stick contact to the body at all. That's all I got!
