Jay Glazer: Raiders still strongly in play for Harbaugh.

Submitted by SalvatoreQuattro on

John Clayton: Harbaugh to Michigan 100%.

If there is a better example of how poor the reporting has been in this saga I haven't seen it.

Basically, the NFL writers don't know a thing.

I'm sure the Raiders want to believe they are strongly in play for Harbaugh still and have told Glazer that. But it doesn't matter because It's Happening.

But the Niners will have to give you permission to make an offer... Which I expect them to do on Monday, when Jim and Sarah are at 37,000 feet over Nebraska headed for a landing at Willow Run.

It makes perfect sense to me. His credibility is already shot so he might as well ride the .000001% chance Harbaugh flips and he looks like a genious. It's to late to save face so he might as well run with it.

From espn.com:

Multiple people at Michigan and in the Jim Harbaugh camp believe the San Francisco 49ers coach will wind up as the Wolverines' next head coach, as many have reported, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

That's a tacit acknowledgement that they were way behind in reporting the story.

NFL writers aren't reporters; they are NFL mouthpieces providing information that the NFL wants released. They all remind me of the guy that Saddam Hussien had (Baghdad Bob) who claimed the U.S. wasn't about to take Baghdad.

Once Harbaugh's season is over, he's fair game until he signs a contract with Michigan. So I understand why a reporter might hear that the Raiders are still planning to make a run at him, and report that.

Maybe they think they can flip him.

So that seems like a legit thing to report. However, I don't believe that the Raiders really have a chance at this point.

Unless and until the Niners release Harbaugh from his contract, they retain his rights. Sure, Dunn might entertain a prospective suitor, the way many fathers might answer the door for a visitor looking to take their daughters out for the evening after they've already left.

Contrary to most I think the constant, down to the wire talk about all of these franchises with interest is a good thing for UM....Shows all (rivals, fans, recruits) just how highly regarded the new UM coach is by the 'League'

Reminds me of that Iraqi minister of information. Standing on live TV explaining how the Iraq army has pushed the Americans out of the country all the while w those Marines were smiling in the back ground! Lol!

How does he have credibility as an insider with his peers now?
