John U. Bacon: "If I had a guess" one year from now, Brad Bates will be the AD and one of the two Harbaughs will be the HC
John U. Bacon, just wrapped an interview on the Hugh Show. When asked to guess who will be the HC of Michigan football one year from now, after giving several disclaimers and noting that it was just his guess, stated that one year from now, Brad Bates would be the AD and one of the two Harbaughs would be the HC.
He also said earlier in the interview that from talking to people who he knows who are close to Miles, Harbaugh and Harbaugh, he does not believe that any of that group would accept the HC spot with Brandon as AD.
Sorry, no link, as it was a radio interview.

I know a couple of fans of our rivals who absolutely hate the idea of Harbaugh coming here, even if just for a few years.
That said, the first step is canning Brandon.

I first read that as "caning" Brandon and thought "Harsh, but okay."

Pretty sure that's a Pulp Fiction reference, and that the Weird Al line is "get medieval on your heinie."
EDIT: God damn it TIMMMMMMMMMMAY.

But unless you have mod powers the timestamp is the last edit that got posted.
He could have posted it one second late and edited seven minutes later. Not saying he did. I have no idea.

Actually, I wrote the post, failed to hit Save, went and did something else, then came back and hit Save, then saw that I'd been beaten to the punch.
Life is hard.

I first read that as "caking" Brandon and I thought "Well, it's either that or death."

The sheer genius of that post. awesome.

and he is not one of the money guys that make that stuff happen. Connected yes, but the Hoke and Brandon buyouts in addition to the contract that either Jim or John would demand require the money guys to dig into their donation pockets.

The real test is whether JUB would eat a lemon if Brad Bates is not the AD and one of the Harbaughs is not the football coach one year from now.

but Brian and John may well decide that when they become Regents. The Cook - Bacon ticket is looking better and better (not to mention ... tastier!).

about how (Fill in the blank) Harbaugh is never gonna happen...
October 8th, 2014 at 4:48 PM ^
It'll never happen until it happens. And unless it happens, it'll never happen.

If a chicken and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half, how long would it take a monkey with a wooden leg to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle?
October 8th, 2014 at 5:32 PM ^
Question: Are these free range chickens?
October 8th, 2014 at 5:51 PM ^
free range chicken?

October 8th, 2014 at 5:44 PM ^
Too many unknowns. Is the pickle whole, speared, or sliced? Is the pickle one of those giant novelty pickles, or just your average jar dwelling pickle? Is the wooden leg the monkey's dominant leg? What type of wood? Actually, what type of monkey, as well?
October 8th, 2014 at 9:54 PM ^
Actually, that riddle goes like this: "If half a hen can lay half an egg in half a day, how many pancakes does it take to cover a doghouse?"

But why can't we trade Brady Hoke and the entire Michigan Coaching Staff to the San Fransisco 49ers for Jim Harbaugh and his staff right now? If the 49ers want to get rid of J.H. so bad and are going to do it at the end of the season no matter what happens, why not give Hoke a chance to see what he can do there ? Brady Hoke, being a delegator would be far more suited to coaching in the pros-see Wayne Fontes - then in college, and it is clear that Harbaugh is the better college coach. This would give the 49ers a chance to see what Hoke can do, and if the results are terrible, fire him at the end of the season with minimal buyouts, and no PR mess, it would give us a chance to not only save this recruiting class, but turn this program around without all the uncertainty, and in a timely manner.
Yes, I know this can never happen because they are on different levels and different leagues, but a man can dream can't he ?

What if it was one of these though? I mean, they're pretty awesome. A little soccer ball to aim at and everything.
October 8th, 2014 at 9:54 PM ^
WTF? I wouldn't trade Hoke and staff for a used urinal cake...
I don't think you're getting the concept of this whole trading thing.......
When the item you have is of zero value, you should be happy to trade it for pretty much anything.
