If he did show, the students could throw seat cushions and $8.00 waters at him.
Then someone can tell him the students wanted the marching band at the rally but they couldn't "afford" to send them.

Those waters are "only" $4.50.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:22 PM ^
When I was growing up and wanted pop (or soda for you weirdos)...my momma would always say "boy! drink some water...it's free!"
Bullshit mom, bullshit.

He'll probably show up at 1 am after it's all over, and dismiss the concerns over his tenure as 'minor'.

loving the shit storm unfolding.

who is loving the shit storm unfolding.

I'm all for him showing up. Nothing like a public shaming with pitchforks in the village square.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:33 PM ^
My friend wants to make this literal, I'm trying to convince him the university leadership won't respect that kind of image.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:29 PM ^
Will the rally be general admission?
September 30th, 2014 at 3:22 PM ^
will it be webcast? ESPN3 perhaps?
September 30th, 2014 at 12:32 PM ^
He'll go and try to get it sponsered by Chabani
September 30th, 2014 at 11:54 AM ^
If the Regents, President are smart, they fire this guy by 5PM.
September 30th, 2014 at 11:55 AM ^
Brandon requested that the firing take place very soon today...i.e. 1AM
September 30th, 2014 at 12:01 PM ^
Then in that case the rally will be a celebratory orgy.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:24 PM ^
I may have to see how long it'd take to get from Detroit to A2 in rush hour.
September 30th, 2014 at 11:56 AM ^
I'd see the UM footbal program become as toxic as it was in December of 2010, but I think at this point, the Hoke/Brandon tenure has surpassed it.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:26 PM ^
I was thinking about this yesterday. The one small silver lining I can see is it at least seems as though the broader community (students/alumni/fans, etc.) are much more together than they were in 2010. That was the worst part of 2010, we were all fighting with each other in a very polarized way.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:36 PM ^
So maybe Dave Brandon and Brady Hoke accomplished what they set out to do after all? Heal our cracks and bring everyone back on the same page. God bless them evil geniuses! Here's to Dave and Brady getting a bonus!
September 30th, 2014 at 12:50 PM ^
only if it's an exit bonus....
September 30th, 2014 at 1:48 PM ^
Just like Batman at the end of the Dark Knight. Except shitty and not on purpose.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:18 PM ^
It is much different. Rich Rodriguez didn't win enough games, but he at least wasn't so incompetent that he put a player's health in serious danger. And there was no negligent bullshit spewing from Brandon's office. This is a much deeper problem and people are acknowledging that.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:33 PM ^
Seriously? He's the wrong role model to cite for this particular issue.

I referred to how many people view MGoBlog to get a pulse on the average Michigan fan. It's crazy to see that minutes later an entire article is written about a thread on here.
Our own posters have comments that are quoted. Pretty cool - even if it's just MLive and they're always on here and we're always over there.

I just don't see any way Brandon can continue as AD under the current conditions. He has lost all support. He should do the honorable thing and tender his resignation to the board of regents.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:05 PM ^
His ego is too big to resign. And as many have pointed out, the president is not likely to step either. The outlook right now on the athletic director is bleak. The only hope is that the regents step in. They are pseudo-politicians so maybe public pressure can make them act.
September 30th, 2014 at 1:20 PM ^
They will act if people stop going to football games. That's the best form of protest.

You should start a quick 2 hour kickstarter to get funds or link your pay-pal account.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:08 PM ^
This is incredible, in a good way. Is there any precedent for a fanbase advocating the ouster of the AD? I don't recall ever hearing about it from other schools... that in itself should tell the Regents what they need to know.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:12 PM ^
Did something along these lines, obviously not as big, happen at Rutgers?
September 30th, 2014 at 12:13 PM ^
That's the most likely

In the Michigan AD, we call that a "miscommunication."
September 30th, 2014 at 12:17 PM ^
If I weren't already on casll for the week I would be buying a palne ticket right now to fly to Michigan and attend this. Honestly, good for any of you who will be attending this very worthwhile cause. Hopefully it will yield some results! Fire this clown!
September 30th, 2014 at 12:18 PM ^
Any chance that all this attention will just look like a mob to the administration? And they'll not want to be overly reactionary? They will weather the storm, and reevaluate at a later time? Or even worse, they'll stick by Brandon/Hoke to "defend their own" or because they won't give into a mob?
Not saying it will/won't, but just wondering.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:23 PM ^
It's not like the mob is just mobbing because we're unhappy about being 2-3. Michigan has been getting roasted nationally and the AD is bringing extreme shame to the university. We were annoyed with Brandon before ND/Utah/Minn, but this Morris situation is the final straw and it's time for the DB to go.
September 30th, 2014 at 12:29 PM ^
I signed the petition. I think he needs to go.
I think this is justified, but the fact that it seems like a mob mentality could be the problem.
I'm just quesitoning if the administration/president will see this as a mob flare up, or a short term problem to hunker down and make it through, an "us against them" mentality. I'm not familiar with Schlissel, but I'm just putting that out there as a possibility, because I see things like that happen. Especially in sports.
September 30th, 2014 at 2:03 PM ^
by marching over to the admin building in unison. That ought to get their attention.
