Welcome to New York. After a meal at WD 50, you should have walked two blocks over to Ludlow Street and enjoyed some semi-professional downscale drinking at Iggys, one of the few seedy holdouts remaining on the Lower East Side. Happy hour until 9pm with Rogue Dead Guy Ale on tap.
I like to believe it is named after former University of Michigan student Iggy Pop, but I can't be sure.

was like an 'end times' look to the sky. my bro-in-law is head of SDFD's USAR (urban search and rescue unit) and his station is right next door to your new neighborhood. i was always happily surprised that more lives weren't lost in that one. \
enjoy your new digs. i don't miss socal, but i do miss some of the wonderful friends and family that still remain.

Ethos IPA from Tallgrass. Picked up a four-pack while traveling through Kansas a couple weeks ago. I'd recommend it if you can find it and like IPAs.
What do you Michiganders pay for a bottle of KBS up there when a bar has them for sale? Down here in Iowa they had some for $14 a pop where I was tonight. Again, a 12 oz. bottle, not from a keg. I said eff that noise but was close to pulling the trigger at one point when I realized the GF was drunk and remembered this shitty day's early news.
(I also have 7 left at home to drink).
to find KBS in a bar anywhere. In a bottle? Maybe. In a keg? Wow, I would think KBS on tap would be even harder to find--- as limited as the production is, I don't know that anone has it on tap other than at Founders.
I still have two bottles in my beer cellar out of a 4-pack a buddy picked up at Founders last year on KBS Introduction Day. I think it was priced at about $28 per 4-pack ($7 per bottle), so yeah, $14 per bottle at the bar seems perfectly reasonable, considering.

Nature called after those Bell's I consumed last night. But also forgot to sign off before bedtime last night and noticed that the drinking thread was still up on the screen...
