OT - Urban Meyers creating a hostile work environment... Jags sued
Like we already knew about Urban Meyers being a world class ass clown. This from Jacksonville.
The Jags being sued because Urban created a hositle work environment...Just so fun.....
Everything that's Urban surely turns to shit!
With one notable exception... OSU always manages to fail upward.
Unless they get the flu and have to play in cold weather in front of a hostile crowd.
Are you suggesting it wasn't cold when they played in 2019, 2017, 2015, 2013, etc...? 2007 was pretty wretched.
Or maybe you're saying the crowd wasn't hostile in 2019, 2017, 2015, 2013, etc...? If so, then that's your own damn fault.
2019 Game was in fact cold - my fiancé from Michigan with me at that game. 2019 was in fact hostile right up until that offsides penalty and fumble - me who was there.
Turdan Meyer
....especially the pizza.
You are what you eat... so he must eat a lot of weiners too.
I hate Papa Johns pizza, so that's a pretty good approximation of what I look like when that's the only food option.
I dislike Urban Meyer as much as the rest of this board. But can you imagine how the previous generation of coaches would look at this? A multi-million dollar kicker suing a coach for mental distress??
Meyer's piss-poor attempt at motivating his player backfired on him. And its further proof that he is a jackass (like we needed any more evidence to reach that conclusion).
But a kicker isn't entitled to a spot on the roster. He needs to make kicks or he will lose his spot.
I wanna say Josh Lambo is like Top 5 all time in FG accuracy? And certainly has a track record in Jacksonville. At some point being a raging douche to one of your franchises most successful players ever, regardless of position, is gonna blow up in your face. If this was the only thing that happened during Urbz tenure down there I doubt we'd know of it.
I get your point and totally agree. Urbs shouldn’t be a raging douche to the water boy, either.
Right, because he could turn out to be your best foosball linebacker.
Something wrong with HIS medulla oblongata
I'm thinking prefrontal cortex and amygdala. Dude is a psychopath and seemingly incapable of empathy or feeling guilt.
It's a stupid lawsuit.
I'm a moron, but you know...I wish there was just a way for the Jaguars to say, "Urban, a chunk of your last check is going to Josh Lambo because you were an asshole. I don't care how much you're paid - you can't kick your employees. Now get out."
Just fine Urban - like you fine players for wearing socks that are too tall or too short - and then give the money to Lambo and then just be done with it.
In a perfect world...
You are a moron Magnus, why would you bring common sense into the discussion? :)
Since the word is on the table, it seemed like the perfect time for this.
I had a middle school history teacher named Mr. Moran. So naturally I think of him every time this "get a brain" gets posted. Perhaps the fellow holding the sign had a run-in with said teacher and was taking his anger out on the teacher's entire family???
Or maybe he's just stupid. One can never tell...
I had an eighth grade English teacher named Mr. Moran. In between diagramming sentences with Holt's Handbook, he would show us SI Swimsuit Edition pictures on the overhead projector in class.
He was a good teacher.
Yeah, sure ....... but if Josh Lambo isn't making his kicks, you just cut the guy. You don't physically kick him!
There are hundreds of college and pro head coaches, but these sort of stories seem to only come out as regards Urban. Which, of course, says something about Urban.
"Urban Meyer's had a winning record," Harbaugh said. "A really phenomenal record everywhere he's been. But also, controversy follows everywhere he's been."
It's true!
It used to be true - but urban had a TERRIBLE record in the nfl. I always said he would fail in the nfl since there is a salary cap and you cannot assure yourself the best rooster in 95% of your games. urban Meyer could not compete on an even playing field like good ole coach Harbaugh.
Was Trent Baalke responsible for hiring Meyer? If so, how does this asshat still have a job? The dude that fired Jim Harbaugh and hired Urban Meyer.
Actually I think Shad Khan was driving that train himself on that one.
This argument is really gaining steam in my mind. OSU (and Florida as well during the Meyer-era) dominated 95+% of the teams they faced from a talent perspective. I wish I knew more about Utah during his tenure. Scouting players from these talent factories probably requires extra scrutiny. To what degree are the players/coaches dominating because of their talent versus their team's overwhelming talent advantage?
Meyer inherited a team at Utah that lost 5 of their 6 losses the year before by one score or less. He did take a 2-star Alex Smith, who only had one offer, and get him drafted #1 overall. He however did not recruit Alex Smith.
Funny when you coach adult professionals
until jax...... controversy followed, but the winning record didn't
Lambo said Meyer told him, "Hey Dips---, make your f---ing kicks!" and then kicked him in the leg. Lambo characterized the kick as a five out of 10 and then told the newspaper he told Meyer: "Don't you ever f---ing kick me again!" Lambo said Meyer told him, "I'm the head ball coach. I'll kick you whenever the f--- I want."
What an arrogant and entitled dickhead. The dude should've just kicked Meyer's ass.
Did he make his kicks after being kicked? Maybe the Panthers kicker should be kicked? He sure as hell can't kick...
Where was the long snapper in all this?!? He should have had his kicker's back.
He was down for the count, having just been snapped in the snapper by the head ball coach.
Trying to get lawsuit funds from a wealthy sports franchise is about as easy as getting wet by relaxing in a nice warm Jacuzzi. The kicker and his "on percentage" attorney *had to file* this suit.
If this actually goes to trial, the testimony and resulting stories should be priceless! Urbs is always, always, yes always entertaining. :-)
I think part of the settlement should be that Meyer has to get on all fours with a football painted on his ass and Josh Lambo gets to try to put him through the uprights.
Maybe they can do it as a halftime bit on FOX Sports.
Hostile work environment? He'll fit right in a Fox.
It seems to me that Meyer even being approached by Fox to return to television, after all this (including the hostile work environment, which I am sure he created in his attempt to coach an NFL team), is Meyer failing with a slightly upward trajectory potentially. From what I understand about the man, on a personal and professional level, that seems to be how his life has operated to date.
It is sad how great success allows many a person to not being called out for their douchebaggery.
Haaa! LOL that image is awesome!
LOL. But this also sounds like a LOLSUIT to me. Unless missing kicks is protected activity under Florida law (and a retaliation claim is valid). Or maybe the protected activity is saying hey don't kick me, which is a closer question maybe and comes down to a matter of degree/severity of the physical abuse the plaintiff was actually experiencing. Either way, LOL.
As is often stated, the NFL is a business. If I kicked an employee for not making goals, we all know where that would end.
Urban is what he is. Can’t imagine anyone picking up to be a commentator again.
I think the only fair way to handle this is to allow the kicker to kick Urban Meyer until he feels better. Justice.
Wow, just wow. Does this make his name toxic enough for the networks to turn away from him?
I have completely left college gameday for Fox's big noon kickoff show. I don't watch a ton of pregame but the hour before the noon games I'm tuning in. Big Noon Kick off was just a far better show overall without the espn sec bs at every turn. I tried big noon when meyer was on it and just can't take that dude. He's just the worst, complete narcissist. Guess the entire point is, if he returns to big noon, I'll have to go back to tuning in 5-10 minutes before kickoff for predictions and just skip the shows unless BTN tailgate gets better...
There will still be some SEC team in the next year or two desperate enough for a shot at glory to call Meyer and ask him to coach their team. I don't think Bryan Harsin is going to last very long at Auburn, and I think that school would be happy to sell its soul for 5-7 years of a legitimate national title window.
Jon Jansen opined that the Jaguars encouraged Lambo to sue so they can settle quickly and show cause for terminating Meyer, saving themselves $30M
That's what they call "Leadership and Character" at some institutions.
It’s obvious to me that he will replace Saban in Alabama in a few years.
