I dislike Urban Meyer as much as the rest of this board. But can you imagine how the previous generation of coaches would look at this? A multi-million dollar kicker suing a coach for mental distress??
Meyer's piss-poor attempt at motivating his player backfired on him. And its further proof that he is a jackass (like we needed any more evidence to reach that conclusion).
But a kicker isn't entitled to a spot on the roster. He needs to make kicks or he will lose his spot.
So right about Regis. A true performer, yet never stopped relating to normal folks.
And as to the other comment, yes, he was all in for ND, and as much as ND is and always has been my personal number 1 rival, I related to a guy who was die hard for his college team.
Regis made that show, regardless of who his female counterpart was.
I used to love the Pistons. In addition to numerous games during the season I went to every home playoff game from around 2002 to 2005 or 06.
I hate sitting upstairs in LCA. Kills my knees. And I'm not that big of a dude- only 5'7"! How can people sit in that arena?
And the NBA in general... The product. The messaging. The kowtowing to Beijing. I'm pretty much over it. They have lost me and I doubt they're getting me back. I'll stick with college and the wolverines.
OK, requisite get off my lawn old guy disclaimer. I suppose I'm just annoyed that 'the powers that be' have turned something that I used to love into something that I completely ignore, and when the topic is brought up, elicits mild contempt.
Then I had sit there and relive these events all over again. Some, I remember like it was yesterday. Others... I had really forgotten the sting, until now. Thanks alot, sadist.
And the opportunities we still have out there are kinda amazing. With all the anticipation its hard to even think about how long it will be before most of these guys actually even are making an impact on the field for Michigan.
Its pretty difficult not be excited by all this. It would be nice if Mr. Hand decides to commit earlier than his stated time-table. One can only wonder what effect having both Peppers and Hand in the class will have on folks like Adoree Jackson and even Fournette.
Fun to watch that UCLA game again. I didn't remember much of it, but the one thing I definitely remember was Brady in mop up time throwing that _ugly_ interception. At the time I thought, "This kid's not going to amount to anything." haha... fortunately, I couldn't have been more wrong.
Exactly!!! What the hell? There's _still_ someone keeping us unranked? Who hasn't caught on that, maybe, possibly, you should put the one loss team in the top 25?
His serial commitment /decommitment crossed my mind too, but we have 6 OL commits at this point. So if he, or (god forbid) another lineman drops, it isn't the end of the world.
Congratulations to Dawson on the commitment- for figuring out where he really belonged and being big enough to admit a mistake. And good job to Coach Hoke, even though we were told, "That ship has sailed," he let that ship dock once it returned back to port.
I don't like any of the solutions to our rivalry game with Ohio. A protected cross division rivalry is bad in the long run. And the idea of having them in our dvision, while it makes sense, think about what the other division looks like. The big powers in the other division are Penn State (who knows if/when they will return to true dominance), Nebraska, and Wisconsin. One of those 3 will always be in the championship game???
I say NO! The championship game should, more often than not, be UM vs. Ohio. The only way to achieve that properly is to DROP the cross division protected rivalry. We only play Ohio when both of us make it to the championship game. Which will probably be a little over half the time.
I'm sure that my position will not be popular, but at this point, I like all the others far less.
but if you're going to go with the B1G's unfortunate double naming device, there are other punters to choose from. Something like the Zoltan - Gillette award.
Are you just trying to rub in the bad memories. I have nightmares about that game. I can still see that hail mary pass from where I stood in the student section.
Those angles were just plain bad and there is no getting used to bad stuff over time.
I don't care if it looks "cooler" in 3D, as if I'm watching a gimmicky movie about aliens from a planet of floating rocks. I want to see what's happening in the game, how many down-lineman are rushing, if the offense is in an unbalanced formation, etc. You can't catch these things with the sideline view, and I don't give a crap about whether a fade coming right at the camera will look cool in 3D when I can't tell what is actually happening with the play.
Especially in the red zone!
ESPN needs to stick with the press-box view live, and they can add all the fancy angles they want for replay.
One thing that I don't see mentioned is the inspiring leadership that Charles brings with his game. In both our '97 championship and GB's Superbowl, teammates regularly cited things Charles _said_ as inspiring the team to win.
Those sorts of things are difficult to put on a stat sheet but are invaluable in the locker room.

didn't Big Will get in trouble for jumping on a car hood or two?

Thanks for sharing. And that professor deserves some sort of awesome bonus if Hand commits.

Alabama and Florida actually _border_ each other.
By definition, they're closer to each other than Michigan is to New Jersey.

83- 67 Michigan Wins!
This time Burke's 3 pt shot goes in.
well, I've seen other people say double post many times. Now I've experienced first hand.
I haven't heard from Coach Hanlon speak in quite a few years. I used to love his analysis on WTKA on Friday nights.

The real Shakey Jake would say something like, "Hey, I've been around the world 12 times... but never in an airplane."
