Michigan Arrogance

Gonna be a good year for us to be distracted by Neb and Scotty F.

Questions is, will Trev Alberts have the stones to fire a fellow alum and favored son of the cornfields? Usually a new AD in this situation is a recipe for a mid season shitcanning but I heard of someone on a podcast that talked to a Neb alum firend who said Albert can't fire Frost b/c that would essentially be admitting the death of Neb Football. And that's probably right

That person is right. It’s like admitting your last gasp effort to re-establish relevance failed.

Nebraska - like many non-southern schools, is very close to becoming irrelevant.

Michigan isn’t at this level yet, thankfully, and is a bit more National in recruiting profile and overall brand. But what is happening there could happen here if another coach were to come in and bomb out.

This is what I’ve been saying since 2018 when the Fire Harbaugh mantra began.
Nebraska wrote its death warrant when they fired 9 win-a-year Bo Pelini. I feel we would be doing the same if we canned Harbaugh. We need to build a sustainable culture a-la Bo, Barry Alvarez, Kirk Ferentz etc… With the footprint Michigan has in the history of college football this will eventually bring us championships again.Hopefully whoever takes over after Jim gets a handoff from Jim and was his best assistant, and Jim sticks around Ann Arbor with honor, does not leave in shame. Brand new coaches every 5-7 years with all new cultures and football philosophy is recipe for constant mediocrity on the threshold of total irrelevance. I feel like we fail to understand that we were almost at that point with RichRod/Hoke and it was actually Jim who pulled us out of that pit.

I stand behind Jim and anyone trying to truly compare his tenure to Scott Frost’s at Nebraska is just looking for clickbait and knows they are lying.

It looks like all the Dirt on Scott Frost , his divorce, cheating on his wife, getting his mistress pregnant and MUCH MUCH More is starting to spill..I ran into a Wolverine/Cornhusker at the Grocery store the other day and she lives in Lincoln and Boy did I get a earful on whats happening with Frost, why Moos left and the rest. It looks like all this is breaking though. She seemed pretty knowledgeable about the inner workings and circles..apparently excessive drinking parties at some sort of club was taking place too...buckle up..she doesnt think he survives the season..his buyout is 20M and thats alot

Yeah, UCF is a giant-ass school in a football-crazed state, FL's biggest school, maybe the nation's biggest. It was also designated one of the state's three flagships not so long ago by the FL legislature. Eventually, that dog is gonna hunt. Frost could have stayed and become the patriarch of the program; instead, he chose to lead the incredible shrinking corn people. It hasn't worked out. Guy leads with his ego, though, and doesn't come across as intelligent or aware. On to the next victim.

I’m not sure how relevant that is to Michigan. If I am not mistaken, we seem to hold tightly to our gameplan regardless of what the defense is showing. A stubborn refusal to ‘take what the defense gives’.

So rather than throwing out our gameplan, we double down on it (at least until we’re down 2+ scores and then have to start throwing on every down).

Michigan is nothing like that. Michigan sees what the defense does and just doesn't adjust anyway.

We don't throw our gameplans out or adjust them. We double the eff down on the one we have and refuse to change it, because change is for suckers.

Am I doing this right?

Goofing on Scott Frost, while absolutely justified and fulfilling, reminds me of something from elementary school:

When you're the laughingstock and least popular person in your grade, do you know who you often get it the worst from?

The second least popular person in your grade.  Because while it may also suck to be them, at least they're not you.
