Let’s all point and laugh at Scott Frost
I initially found Scott Frost’s comments extremely funny until I realized that his comments also sum up Michigan’s offensive game plans. Now I has sad.

He looks like QB2 from the series Friday Night Lights (also of Breaking Bad and other shows): Jesse Plemons. Kind of reminds me of Howdy Doody as well. My wife is a Husker--she gets tired of hearing me say how much I can't stand Frost...

Did Frost’s mommy write to the media and fans reminding them about 1997 and also how much her son was paid in the NFL?

I am not going to point and laugh because I am superstitious and I don't want any bad karma to hit my team.

So you have been an angel for what, 16 years or so?
September 1st, 2021 at 9:35 PM ^
Obviously not. Have you seen Michigan ’s record?
September 1st, 2021 at 3:36 PM ^
Gonna be a good year for us to be distracted by Neb and Scotty F.
Questions is, will Trev Alberts have the stones to fire a fellow alum and favored son of the cornfields? Usually a new AD in this situation is a recipe for a mid season shitcanning but I heard of someone on a podcast that talked to a Neb alum firend who said Albert can't fire Frost b/c that would essentially be admitting the death of Neb Football. And that's probably right

It is a long road back at this stage. But a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. They're gonna have to get moving.
September 1st, 2021 at 4:08 PM ^
That person is right. It’s like admitting your last gasp effort to re-establish relevance failed.
Nebraska - like many non-southern schools, is very close to becoming irrelevant.
Michigan isn’t at this level yet, thankfully, and is a bit more National in recruiting profile and overall brand. But what is happening there could happen here if another coach were to come in and bomb out.
September 1st, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
This is what I’ve been saying since 2018 when the Fire Harbaugh mantra began.
Nebraska wrote its death warrant when they fired 9 win-a-year Bo Pelini. I feel we would be doing the same if we canned Harbaugh. We need to build a sustainable culture a-la Bo, Barry Alvarez, Kirk Ferentz etc… With the footprint Michigan has in the history of college football this will eventually bring us championships again.Hopefully whoever takes over after Jim gets a handoff from Jim and was his best assistant, and Jim sticks around Ann Arbor with honor, does not leave in shame. Brand new coaches every 5-7 years with all new cultures and football philosophy is recipe for constant mediocrity on the threshold of total irrelevance. I feel like we fail to understand that we were almost at that point with RichRod/Hoke and it was actually Jim who pulled us out of that pit.
I stand behind Jim and anyone trying to truly compare his tenure to Scott Frost’s at Nebraska is just looking for clickbait and knows they are lying.

Trev Alberts has plenty of experience killing a football program as he was the AD who put an end to the University of Nebraska Omaha football program. A DII team.

This has to be the least self aware post in MgoBlog history - especially considering your screen name!
Well done!

I’m very aware of the state of Michigan’s program. That doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy Karen Frosts son never being able to even get to .500 in 4 years in the B10 West

The whole point of killing UNO football was so that all the giant farmboys in Nebraska would walk on at Lincoln instead and bring them back the glory days. Hasn't exactly worked out like they hoped.

It looks like all the Dirt on Scott Frost , his divorce, cheating on his wife, getting his mistress pregnant and MUCH MUCH More is starting to spill..I ran into a Wolverine/Cornhusker at the Grocery store the other day and she lives in Lincoln and Boy did I get a earful on whats happening with Frost, why Moos left and the rest. It looks like all this is breaking though. She seemed pretty knowledgeable about the inner workings and circles..apparently excessive drinking parties at some sort of club was taking place too...buckle up..she doesnt think he survives the season..his buyout is 20M and thats alot

his divorce, cheating on his wife, getting his mistress pregnant
Sounds like he's maintaining Tom Osborne's strict standards for personal behavior.

with all that, I'm sure there's a conduct related article on his contract that would null the buyout clause.
September 1st, 2021 at 4:03 PM ^
That buyout is probably why the school basically screamed from the rooftops to the NCAA about breaking practice rules during covid.

This thread is an amazing look at how big of a douche Frost really is. I bet his mom can't defend him from this...

I thought Frank Solich was who got a cheerleader pregnant and they kept it hush hush? Sounds like theyre keeping tradition alive.

How did Frost go from an offensive genius at Oregon and UCF to a complete drooling moron at Nebraska? Honest question.
September 1st, 2021 at 4:10 PM ^
He inherited far more talent at those two stops.
September 1st, 2021 at 5:40 PM ^
Yeah, UCF is a giant-ass school in a football-crazed state, FL's biggest school, maybe the nation's biggest. It was also designated one of the state's three flagships not so long ago by the FL legislature. Eventually, that dog is gonna hunt. Frost could have stayed and become the patriarch of the program; instead, he chose to lead the incredible shrinking corn people. It hasn't worked out. Guy leads with his ego, though, and doesn't come across as intelligent or aware. On to the next victim.
September 1st, 2021 at 10:05 PM ^
UCF was a good program under Frost's predecessor, George O'Leary, too - except for the year before, when team chemistry was shot to hell and the team quit on O'Leary. Frost's "miracle turnaround" was fool's gold.

I think Jim is bright, just pretty tortured. Whole 'nother psychic ball o' wax than Frost, IMO.

It's all fun and games until Gattis calls for a wildcat pass from Haskins on 3rd and goal.

Right. The lack of self awareness here is stunning and bordering on embarrassing.
September 1st, 2021 at 6:28 PM ^
I think you need to read more carefully.
September 1st, 2021 at 3:46 PM ^
I’m not sure how relevant that is to Michigan. If I am not mistaken, we seem to hold tightly to our gameplan regardless of what the defense is showing. A stubborn refusal to ‘take what the defense gives’.
So rather than throwing out our gameplan, we double down on it (at least until we’re down 2+ scores and then have to start throwing on every down).
September 1st, 2021 at 3:51 PM ^
Michigan is nothing like that. Michigan sees what the defense does and just doesn't adjust anyway.
We don't throw our gameplans out or adjust them. We double the eff down on the one we have and refuse to change it, because change is for suckers.
Am I doing this right?
September 1st, 2021 at 4:02 PM ^
Goofing on Scott Frost, while absolutely justified and fulfilling, reminds me of something from elementary school:
When you're the laughingstock and least popular person in your grade, do you know who you often get it the worst from?
The second least popular person in your grade. Because while it may also suck to be them, at least they're not you.
(Source: was alternatively both at various points)

Scott Frost strikes me as a guy who goes all in on every hand, hoping no one calls his bluff, but they frequently do
