PUUUUUUUKE!
October 12th, 2019 at 4:01 PM ^
I think this team is weak mentally from the Head Coach on down. If the players aren't performing, yank them and get in their girll and rip them a new one. Instead, we have 17 fumbles to our credit and the bad weather hasn't even hit yet. What are we going to do when it rains or snows? Harbaugh's teams don't hand adversity well. That 2nd half first 18 minutes were some of the worst football I have seen played on any level. Fumbles and a defense that laid down. WTF? You are supposed to play 60 minutes and we played 40. Good enough to beat Illinois; we are going to get crushed by good teams. We have the talent to win, top 10 in the country; but, our game day coaching and mental preparedness and toughness by this still leave a lot to be desired. Football is a game of emotion; and I don't seen enough of it on that sidelines. It seemed like we were content to take a 28-0 lead home with us and our guys quit and the coaches let them. Hell, give me EMU's coach who looks like he is having fun out that there and competing over the "crap show" that I saw out there today.

Michigan certainly has its problems, but I’d say they handled adversity pretty well today. After Illinois made it 28-25 and had all of the momentum, Michigan drove down the field, converted a crucial 4th down and scored a touchdown. Then, the defense stiffened, made two big plays and set up another touchdown. Sorry if that doesn’t fit your preferred narrative.
October 12th, 2019 at 4:18 PM ^
Yes... that certainly was... impressive
October 12th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
When Illinois looked like they were threatening to make a comeback, I was having flashbacks to 2009, when Michigan played Illinois, got up early, seemingly had the game put away, and completely choked it away under RR.
This time was completely different, in that Michigan got back to business and ended up winning comfortably. Of course, it's not good that they let them get that close to begin with, but at least they didn't give up like they had in years past.
And what's a little strange, is if you look at the stats in this game, Michigan completely dominated the whole game... outside of that third quarter. Very strange indeed.
Hoping for some sort of miracle turnaround in Happy Valley next week. Not expecting one, but stranger things have happened, I suppose.

SC beat Georgia. But honestly, I see no potential scenario where we are within 14 points of PSU
October 12th, 2019 at 4:33 PM ^
You are over estimating the PSU offense and you lack vision.
October 12th, 2019 at 5:37 PM ^
You are overestimating Michigan's offense, and you lack vision.
October 13th, 2019 at 1:14 AM ^
We certainly will be....at kickoff!
October 13th, 2019 at 9:50 AM ^
They had a similar game against Illinois under Carr around 2003-2004 iirc
October 12th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
We played against a team that Eastern Michigan beat. Does that dampen your optimism?
October 12th, 2019 at 4:22 PM ^
Enabler
October 12th, 2019 at 5:02 PM ^
Its illinois. Have some ambition.
October 12th, 2019 at 5:06 PM ^
I just think that the game had the feeling of being so decisively over at 28-0 that Michigan kind of stopped paying attention. Even at 28-25 I was “irritated” but not “worried.” Isn’t a great thing to see but these are kids. They were absolutely pounding them and I think they just checked out for a bit.
October 12th, 2019 at 5:46 PM ^
And that's why we're a B+ program run by a B+ coach trying to compete in a world that demands A level results. Our players "check out for a bit." While we "checked out for a bit" Illinois...am I really saying this?...fucking Illinois outscores us 25-0!!!
October 12th, 2019 at 5:52 PM ^
K. There are a lot of reasons to be unsatisfied by this season. That stupid 15 minutes of football doesn’t rank highly on that list.
October 12th, 2019 at 5:57 PM ^
Agreed. Just one more notch in the bedpost.
October 12th, 2019 at 10:36 PM ^
That in itself is a reason to be dissatisfied.
I agree with whoever above said it's time for some coaches to start getting in people's faces. At least the ballcarriers. At some point maybe what's needed is for the coaches to tell them, the next fool to put a football on the turf can just forget about going back in the game.
October 12th, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
What kind of grading curve are you using when 0-5 against ohio state and 0 appearances in Indy in 5 years is a B+?
October 12th, 2019 at 6:52 PM ^
B+???
I wish I would have you as a teacher in school. On a yearly average we are third best in OUR DIVISION, and at best 4th in the conference.
If we are B+ what is OSU? AAA?
Come in, our expectations are so tainted by the last 15 years of futility. This not even a B- program right now. When we lose badly to PSU and OSU and maybe to ND, will this still be a B+??
October 12th, 2019 at 7:12 PM ^
We just won a road conference game by 17 points. I get that opponent caveats apply but 10 years ago we won against that opponent at home 67-65 in 3 overtimes. We’re gonna have a lot of time to claw our own faces off after next Saturday. I would just prefer to wait until then to start.
October 13th, 2019 at 1:16 AM ^
Ok, so please feel free to go put your head back into the sand.
October 13th, 2019 at 8:56 AM ^
I blew the whistle on Harbaugh long before basically anybody else on this blog did. I called out early signs of decay as early as Florida in 2017 but everybody had their savior so most of us feeling that way just shut up. Now I call for a bit of calm after a decisive win and I have my head in the sand? People on this blog have lost their damn.mind.
October 13th, 2019 at 11:24 AM ^
If that is the case, my apologies and you were ahead of the curve.
October 12th, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
It’s become a weekly tradition here.
If you don’t join me in my circle jerk of bitching, it means you have low expectations and look what the last 15 years have done to you!
October 12th, 2019 at 9:08 PM ^
As opposed to the circle jerk of bitching about the bitching?
Or the circle jerk of HEY it is HARBAUGH we got 10-3 every year! Its whack-o-riffic!
October 12th, 2019 at 11:16 PM ^
Just don't say anything bad about Brown or you'll be thrown off a cliff.
October 13th, 2019 at 11:26 AM ^
....or our fine running back coach jaybaugh!
October 12th, 2019 at 6:03 PM ^
Michigan, as with all good teams, has faced adversity against inferior opponents multiple times, and has always done enough to win under Harbaugh.
The reason fans are hyper sensitive to this issue is that we’ve never shown the ability to respond to adversity against good teams. Even mediocre teams are able to pull that off on occasion, but we are 0-fer in such opportunities under Harbaugh.
October 12th, 2019 at 6:35 PM ^
Michigan played much better. The offense looks improved and Shea looks much better. It’s funny .... I looked at the comments regarding Patterson and you wouldn’t know that he had 3 touchdowns and no turnovers in a comfortable win. Some idiot on here actually said he was the worst qb in college football and it wasn’t close. Someone actually said that. We got up to a 28 point lead, took the foot off the gas for a quarter and then won by 17 and were downing the ball on the 10 yard line with 2 minutes to go. Big deal. We will be fine at Penn State although it shouldn’t surprise anyone if we lose to a top 10 on the road. The sky is not falling.
October 12th, 2019 at 10:46 PM ^
Its ok to lose to Penn State? To be 1-11 vs top 10 teams? Youre a pussy.
October 12th, 2019 at 8:52 PM ^
Bullshit. Michigan CREATED the adversity. The game would have been over at halftime if the coaching staff had any balls
October 13th, 2019 at 5:09 AM ^
^^^^^This exactly^^^^^
October 12th, 2019 at 5:31 PM ^
It wasn’t nearly as bad as you think it was.
October 12th, 2019 at 9:15 PM ^
It was the same feel as the game against Iowa. Early on it looked like we were going to run them out of the stadium. Then SOMETHING changes, either the other team adapts and we have no counter, or the coaches let off the gas pedal. I don't know which one it is but I do know that we are lacking a killer instinct this season. I hope we can find that instinct before next Saturday night.
October 12th, 2019 at 9:38 PM ^
What? We won
October 12th, 2019 at 4:27 PM ^
Every game this season is more evidence that “Harbaugh is the best we can get” is total nonsense. What these coaches are doing to the players, in terms of lack of development, is really sad to see.
October 12th, 2019 at 4:36 PM ^
Garbage take! Jimmy till we die!!! Only real Michigan fans blindly support a coach and team. We are only two plays away from wins against OSU! Christian Turner is gonna be All Big Ten!!!

Yeah that Turner thing everyone was so pumped about...i didnt get it. Thst guy isnt ever doing anything against a top ten defense.
October 12th, 2019 at 5:08 PM ^
I mean, it got weird for a minute but there were was certainly evidence that they were “prepared” to play today.
October 12th, 2019 at 5:56 PM ^
For a minute? It got weird for about 20 minutes. Of clock time. I real time it felt like hours.
October 12th, 2019 at 3:45 PM ^
Lots of dumbasses on the board. Can't wait till you all sober up and see how stupid your comments were today.
October 12th, 2019 at 3:47 PM ^
Hmmm... so you think it's unreasonable to call out this team for allowing 18 unanswered points to a team who lost to EMU at home?
October 12th, 2019 at 3:49 PM ^
Quit drinking and go to bed.
October 12th, 2019 at 3:58 PM ^
Witty.
+1
October 12th, 2019 at 4:00 PM ^
No he’s absolutely right! Quit excusing this piss poor product we see on most Saturday’s this season. If you’re excited about beating an Illinois team starting their 3rd string QB....you have issues!
October 12th, 2019 at 4:13 PM ^
I have a feeling Michigan would have had a much easier time against Illinois' first string QB. . .
October 12th, 2019 at 6:00 PM ^
You are probably right. Not sure who that says more about. Harbaugh or Lovie.
October 12th, 2019 at 4:06 PM ^
They weren’t “unanswered” lol
