Tuesday Night College Hoops Open Thread

You know the drill.  Not too many games of intrigue but a couple of Big Ten games none the less.

Indiana at Michigan State in progress.

Purdue at Northwestern tips at 9 on Big Ten Network.

If all else fails, we can talk about the big one at Crisler tomorrow night.

Not terribly inspiring play at Breslin - Indiana is beating MSU by 1 and holds over them an effective field goal percentage of 45.00% to State's  44.00%. I suppose the difference might be Indiana going to the line about 100 times, it seems, but then in a game where there have been only 7 offensive rebounds combined and 15 turnovers combined, I don't know what exactly one might expect here.

Wow Indiana is up against some serious home court officiating right now.  Those were phantom fouls on Valentine and Dawson.

Sparty looks like Sparty, they'll finish near the top of the B1G and make a run to the sweet sixteen. Why can't some rabid Sparty kidnap Tom Izzo and keep him locked up in the basement?

the more B1G games I watch this year, the better I feel about U-M's team going forward, I think we're one of the top 4 teams in the league.

Can you imagine if we had a healthy McGary available?

This MSU team looks very, very beatable.  Bad transition defense, mediocre forward play, and inconsistent at protecting the ball.  I predict a Michigan victory.

We're for 30 minutes against Indiana tonight. Payne will play and probably look close to 100%. Keys for Michigan will be to not turn it over and not get killed on the glass. This will require Horford and Morgan to stay out of foul trouble. It could happen but don't kid yourself in to thinking you will see this same Sparty team on Saturday.

Boy i wish i shared your sentiment. But the msu izzo runs plays big and tough in the paint. Notice izzo always has big thug players that look like football players inside. Beilein goes with three perimeter players and without McGary we have no chance. The fans rattled Stauskas last yr so much that he was unplayable and theyll try the same. This is their apex dont forget. All they care about is beating us.

It's neat at times to see how teams play and realize what they really practice. Ohio State takes time to work on defensive in-bounds plays and it shows. Indiana and Iowa on the other hand definitely work on getting the ball inbounds after makes; they are very good at jetting up the floor and forcing the opponent to get back and almost have to play transition defense after their own made shot. I type this as Indiana decides to give the game back to Sparty and go down double digits.
