Moderator Action Sticky #3
Hello. The previous mod action sticky was cumbrously long so this is a new one. What this thread is for:
This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.
NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.
Update: There's now a Mod Action Sticky IV.

It was wingsnwolverines. Gay slur, masturbation and virgin jokes... Just awful stuff.
November 1st, 2013 at 12:18 AM ^
Then there is this guy:
http://mgoblog.com/users/b1ghouse
He's a serial anti-Michigan contrarian who likes to repost. He's made my watch list, along with that nickb guy. Neither have broken the rules, per se, but both are just flaming away.

OT:Snowflake MGoStaff / Coach Concerns
The tribe spoke on this one, but I did leave it up for a bit because I was wondering where this would go admittedly as a "snowflake" thread in the hopes that it could be repurposed perhaps. Sadly, that didn't seem like it was going to happen.

This guy was mentioned earlier. He should probably go, or get a time out.

To be fair, you could go through the open thread and come away thinking 30% of the board needs to be banned.
November 2nd, 2013 at 6:35 PM ^
I'm shocked, honestly shocked, that he wasn't sent to Bolivia for his post the other night with the gay slur and the masturbation jokes. Like, that's inexcusable. This guy is 100% mlive as it is.
November 2nd, 2013 at 6:44 PM ^
That had already been deleted by the time JGB or myself got to this particular reporting. Needless to say, he hasn't redeemed himself and is gone.

Did some caving and deleting. Bando, every slur I've seen results in a caved poster, but I didn't see it. Sounds like it ended up happening anyway.

Gardner got sand in his vagina?

Is this our second worst O-line ever?
...as well as...
Is this the worst O-Line in the history of Michigan football?
...and what's more...
IF Hoke an co. beat OSU at the end of this season, is all forgiven?
These would all be snowflake thread material - we're going to manage the board tightly, I think.

Is Gardner a QB?
Snowflake, and an awful one at that.
Rant!
I think this was meant to be a comment in a thread, from the sound of it.
Time for Borges to go
At least a foot of snow in the forecast for the MGoBoard this evening....
November 2nd, 2013 at 7:02 PM ^
I Have A Gnarly Face was already banned as Wolverines Dominate, right?
November 2nd, 2013 at 7:15 PM ^
He was also "We Are Borg" at some point. I personally am waiting for the day he comes back as "We Are Darth Gnarly Face".
November 3rd, 2013 at 7:18 PM ^
Can you not ban his IP address?
November 3rd, 2013 at 7:33 PM ^
I believe it can be done, but only by Brian and anyone else with direct server access. As I recall, I have heard them mention that this process is somehow not terribly easy. Not sure if that is a Drupal or server provider issue though.
November 16th, 2013 at 8:46 AM ^
Yes, he was also Darth Wolverine. The guy makes it so easy to spot him—he can't help himself from negging any non-football hello posts. If recruits are supposed to treated with such respect on this site, why isn't negging a hello post an insta-ban? How much more disrespectful can you get?
EDIT: Another Hello post negged: http://mgoblog.com/node/83056/vud-votes

for wishing a heart attack on Borges in the Narduzzi thread
November 2nd, 2013 at 7:26 PM ^
We're not going wish health issues on anyone - there's being passionate about Michigan and then there is being terribly mean.
November 2nd, 2013 at 8:14 PM ^
Is there a way to halt site registrations for the night?
November 2nd, 2013 at 9:11 PM ^
The email module could be turned off, but that would have to come from Brian.

That's an overly-dramatic snowflake, posted as a diary, no less.
November 2nd, 2013 at 11:08 PM ^
Yeah glad to see it gone.
November 3rd, 2013 at 6:00 AM ^
it is time to fire borges
Certainly there will be an opportunity to express this in a Sunday Snowflake thread.
Recruiting Fallout..?
It's probably a little premature to start freaking out about recruiting.
we still spell better than Sparty
Win or lose, I think someone has to be the bigger blog here...
Is Hoke as determined as Carr, Dantonio, and yes Bielema?
This one probably falls below the snowflake bar, and there is a Snowflake thread for the day.
November 3rd, 2013 at 3:51 PM ^
Hello mods
Thanks for keeping the board from going full Chernobyl. Pruning out the stupid threads really cuts down on the MLive factor. Can't envy being a mod after losses like this.
November 3rd, 2013 at 5:29 PM ^
More Coaching Parallels
It was cute, of course, but the answer to the question (now confirmed) is Mark Dantonio and I don't know if that generates a lot of useful discussion that isn't being had in the other "parallel" threads. There has to be a limit here.
The MSU disrespect needs to die. Now.
This is a lengthy post that is far below the Snowflake bar (which also ignores the fact that the appropriate thread is still on the front page). I understand what the OP is trying to say, but as someone mentioned, self-aggrandizing as a means of coping is probably a poor strategy and will not generate original discussion this week (or ever really).
Today, in football/Bball: OSU, Wisc, MSU>UMich. Tomorrow will be different?
Call me strange, but I left this going for a bit because I wondered if it would go in a different direction than the other "parallel" threads, but it doesn't seem like it. If I am wrong, let me know here.
Brandon's optimal poker line going forward
Pretty sure thatDave Brandon is not quite thinking along these lines.
November 4th, 2013 at 6:11 AM ^
Since Bo died
I slept on this one, but on further reflection, it seems like another thread where there is self-aggrandizement going on and it just isn't useful, in my opinion, and indeed, it covers things already being discussed in some form in other threads.
It's amazing that so many here hate the NFL
There was an intriguing observation in here, but I think the presentation is not going to get much discussion going. When a majroity of the comments are about the phrasing of the OP, it's probably not a good thread to leave up. That, and probably a snowflake contribution.
This program can talk, but it can't walk
I struggled with this one, but it is stuff that is already being hashed out in numerous other threads condensed somehow into its own separate thread. It answers an amalgamation of questions from other threads, but probably isn't itself threadworthy. This is a trend we are trying to mitigate for the next couple days at least. Again, if you disagree, let me know. I keep these links and could always put it back.

Threatening to massacre Michigan fans is bad, as is the mindless denegration of the team. But mostly the mass murder thing.

Possibly more than just a banishment. To even say that jokingly ... WTF?
November 4th, 2013 at 2:03 PM ^
We at MGoBlog are still anti-massacre. Comment deleted, user spared for the time being (appeared to be an IRL hack).

It'll be a shame to lose the heartfelt condolences but you'll never keep up with the trolls and there should be no place for this crap. Even when you do finally clean it up, it's obvious what's missing and I don't think it should even be hinted at here.
Honestly, this might have been the low point for this message board, ever.
November 5th, 2013 at 11:03 AM ^
Honestly, if Brian was seriously considering kicking people off the board for "insulting" recruits, there should be a strong consideration toward kicking people off the board who are that out of touch with reality. If he thought that recruits would react poorly to what was said before, how does he think they are going to react when they see stuff like that on the board? If I were a recruit, I'd extrapolate that and expect the fanbase to call for me to get kicked off the team if I had a bad game even if someone died.
November 6th, 2013 at 2:02 PM ^
And anyone do an ip address check, because man if that isn't feeling like BRCE 5.0.
November 5th, 2013 at 3:02 PM ^
within that disgrace of a thread by electric bugaloo to raise the start a new thread threshold to 500 points. I strongly encourage that for at least until the end of the season.
November 5th, 2013 at 3:21 PM ^
I immediately regretted commenting in that thread but, damn, that was hysterical!
A higher point threshhold for starting new threads (at least 500) needs to be established during the football season. Its getting ridiculous and the 2+ moderators working their butts off shouldn't have to be the only ones responsible for maintaining the Board. They have their own professional and personal lives, a fact that too often gets overlooked (not to mention the complete lack of any acknowledgment, praise, and even communication from on high - but thats neither here nor there). Its time to address the situation that almost every senior poster has acknowledged many times over.
November 5th, 2013 at 4:09 PM ^
...out of touch? Even with his mods? Hard to believe this is true.
I'm starting to think this site should just stick with front page material and can the forum and diaries.
November 5th, 2013 at 6:18 PM ^
Definitely disagree about the diaries. Some of the best material on the blog is from the diaries. The forums are more mixed in their quality, but I think if certain aspects were retooled, then it could be greatly improved.
November 5th, 2013 at 10:20 PM ^
...the diaries for sure. My comment was tongue in cheek, for the most part.
