and saying Texas has already looked better. They lost by 20 to Ole Miss at home and beat a hapless KState team by 10.
However, it will be our luck that Gerg somehow makes them into a top 20 unit

Pulling for the Cyclones (+9) anf the Hill Toppers (-7.5). Your prayers are appreciated.
October 3rd, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
I don't care that it's in Salt Lake City, that game is going to be a bludgeoning.
October 3rd, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
UCLA (-6) should work nicely.
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:38 PM ^
A good friend of mine is a Utah alum so I've watched a few games with him. Utah is pretty decent and has a good QB (Travis Wilson). UCLA will likely win, but I don't think it'll be a blowout by any means. Plus it's in Salt Lake City so you've got the Thursday night upset factor going
October 3rd, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
Go Utes. The Utes are tough at home.
Also, go Cyclones...please drop 60 on GERG's D. Score however many points are necessary to generate an appearance from a stuffed beaver.

I turned on the TV and thought Iowa State was USC. Those uniforms are uncannily similar. Double stripe on the shoulder instead of single, and obviously no Trojan on the helmet, but other than that they're identical.
October 3rd, 2013 at 11:20 PM ^
Good move on their part, like when Iowa changed their unis to look like the Steelers. Look like a winner, maybe you'll play like a winner.
October 3rd, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
Iowa State has about 40 yards of offense in their first drive, but almost as much as this in penalty yards so far. Two steps forward, two steps back, right?
October 3rd, 2013 at 7:57 PM ^
I know it's terrible to say this, but Iowa State has some brutal cheerleaders.
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:36 PM ^
None of those girls are on the Hostess committee, I'm guessing.
Sorry, I went there.

Hostess? As in, twinkies, cupcakes, ho-ho's and pies? I love me some hostess.

HALOL!
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
...or does the Texas D-line look like they are loafing when ISU gets to the second level? No backside pursuit. I know they're big, but also lazy or tired already.
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:34 PM ^
He does look dashing in his Texas swag, though.
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:35 PM ^
Texas needs a fuzzy animal

Here we go Cyclones. Capitalize on this feild position.
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:41 PM ^
Great college game right now and of course, I'm watching my Cleveland Browns. I never thought I'd be cheering for a freaking Sparty.
EDIT: and of course, Hoyer gets injured.
October 3rd, 2013 at 8:44 PM ^
that will stop Iowa State.

Not a good finaly minute of the half there for the 'Clones. Dropped pass probably cost them 4 pts then gave up a junk TD. Decent Half overall though.

but you already did.

The one thing that is fairly evident so far - Aaron Wimberly is not getting the most mileage out of his carries, but he definitely is the rusher of choice for the Cyclones.

Don't forget about DII Harding at Southern Arkansas on CBS Sports Network! It is Harding's first ever time on National Television! My AP Chem teacher's son plays for Harding and was wearing his Harding Bison shirt today.

Longest pass play in Iowa State history. 97 yards for the TD. That awful angle the safety took looked familiar
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:59 PM ^
The out of position safety made me start looking for Tony Gibson on the sidelines.
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
Now THAT looked like the GERG defense I remember. 97 yard TD on a 3rd and long.
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:38 PM ^
GERG'D!
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:39 PM ^
'Clones are out playing the 'Horns. They got 3 points on a short FG after that fumble; then a Hail Mary TD at the end of half.
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:39 PM ^
Doesn't get more scintilating than that for analysis.
Thanks Jesse
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:41 PM ^
Can't say it too often. That was GERGian safety play if anything was.

October 3rd, 2013 at 9:44 PM ^
Now that Iowa State increased their offensive yards by about 30% on one TD run, we see again the typical problem that you have within Greg Robinson defenses where you sell out against the nothing on an obvious something play and promptly get burned.
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:45 PM ^
Iowa St. D needs to focus...uncalled PI just then on ISU.
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:47 PM ^
Chuck it deep, watch them commit pass interference, profit
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:53 PM ^
That hit by Davis was awful. Aiming for the knee of a player way outside the play, after the play was done is inexcusible. Should've been an ejection, considering (IMO) it was worse than any targeting ejection this season.
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
Thats a textbook example of "intent to injure". Much more so than any of the targetting penalties safeties have been racking up this year. They should've tossed him. What a dirty, goon play
October 3rd, 2013 at 9:55 PM ^
For anyone who missed it:
October 3rd, 2013 at 10:04 PM ^
That should be a multiple game suspension. Ridiculous.
