it's true, classes at OSU are pointless.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:27 PM ^
Didn't Adolfus Washington say the same thing last year?
I bet he doesn't start this week. Oh wait, he's 3rd string? Education isn't very important when you are 3rd string, because you are DESTINED for a life in the NFL where knowledge is useless.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:30 PM ^
Washington something along the lines of 'they won't let you fail, you'd have to try to fail to actually flunk out'. Was talking about academic support.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:37 PM ^
Thought that was Tate Forcier.
Too soon? No, not too soon.

It's a little weird to have the jersey of our nickle corner in your closet, but he did have the game sealing INT against Ohio last year, so I can dig it.

I was a David Underwood fan too
October 8th, 2012 at 3:59 PM ^
When he committed, that "even with minimal effort, it's impossible to fail."
October 5th, 2012 at 12:25 PM ^
He is absolutely right. He didn't get into OSU because of his great grades. This kid was brought in to ride the bench his entire career. Classes surely would get in the way of that.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:43 PM ^
in front of my desk, so that fact alone won't make me feel superior to the guy. Still, good PR this twit's twitter isn't.

there are many people who choose not to go to college because they don't like school.
I think it is more an insight on the hypocrisy of the system where people who have no interest in a higher education, are given scholarships, academic assistance, etc., just so that institution can succeed in a sport.
I am sure there are many ex-high school football players out there, who would really appreaciate the opportunity to continue playing football, and get a higher education. That is what is sad to me.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:28 PM ^
I'm glad he picked Ohio over Michigan.

I'll have you know, he's going to get top dollar when he goes to sell his books back. That reminds me, my sister has a communications class next semester. Who do you think will be cheaper, amazon, or Cardale?
October 5th, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
I certainly hope he is not a communications major. The only thing he has communicated well is that he is an idiot. Isn't it great that he is receiving a free education and not someone who actually wants to learn?

Haven't lol'd at a post in a long time. You are a credit to your craft.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:30 PM ^
Nice. This tweet dovetails nicely with Urban Meyer's attempt to emphasize Ohio's academic superiority for football players in comparison with Michigan's (major comparison he highlighted before the season started).
October 5th, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
Since when do they have to go to class?
October 5th, 2012 at 12:33 PM ^
I'd love to know what the assignment was that put Cardale over the edge.

Cardale: "Are you saying I failed my entire freshman year?"
Professor: "GO AROUND AGAIN!"

Do you like my party hat? Do you like my party tat.?
No Sir, No Sir, I know fo'sure sir...
I would not like it, in one of Terrel Pryor's loaner cars... I would not like it from behind Maurice Clarett's bars....
I do not like it with a bow tie.... I do not like it when they dot the "I"...
You can take your buckeye's and shove them up your wazzoo... Cuz I am from Michigan, just outside of Kalamazoo...
Rooting for Ohio is just not my scene... Because I am a true blue, Wolverine....

Common misconception. Go Dog, Go was not a Dr. Seuss book, it was written by P.D. Eastman.
October 5th, 2012 at 7:16 PM ^
but J.D.'s poem was a hybrid of Go Dog Go and Green Eggs and Ham.

He was really disappointed to see that dog was not spelled "dawg".

October 5th, 2012 at 12:34 PM ^
I don't think that is what the professor teaching your class on existentialism meant when they told you to apply the concept of "Absurdism" to real life. Then again, the meaning of life to Jones is clearly football, which if this is the only facet he will consider, it makes classes extraneous. Camus might very well have bought that as a practical application. Well done, Cardale.
Granted, he would have had to go to that class to understand this....
October 5th, 2012 at 1:05 PM ^
i think you managed to write something less grammatical than that tweet

October 5th, 2012 at 12:47 PM ^
I doubt Cardale will be on the team much longer.
On the other hand, he's right. Many "student" athletes don't care about school, but going to college is the only way to get into the NFL, which is what they really want.
October 5th, 2012 at 12:52 PM ^
Although I can see that line of thought for a guy who comes in as a starter and is one of the better players on the team, but that is not Cardale, and he should know that by now. Not only will he not go to the NFL, but he will likely never take a meaningful snap in college.
If Denard had that viewpoint, I'd be disappointed but I'd get it. If Kenny Wilkins did, it would be stupid. Cardale Jones has as good a shot at the NFL as Keny Wilkins, and they both should be looking to not-sports as a career after college.
