There's also this tweet:
NewLeadersOrg New LeadersCongrats @CatoJune for being named Head Football Coach at Anacostia HS! You'll love working at a New Leader-led school - Ian Roberts rocks!
Here's wishing him nothing but the best. Hopefully one day he'll be able to send a few kids to Ann Arbor!

For those of that don't know, Anacostia is among the worst areas in DC, if not the country. I wish Cato the best.

Agree; if you are East of the Anacostia river (such as Penn. Ave east of 295), turn around.

That's where he went to high school, so I'm sure he's well aware of the area. I'm also betting he won't live in the direct vicinity. I too wish him the best of luck, and hope he does well (whether or not he sends us recruits)

The prices for homes in Anacostia are rising very quickly because the Department of Homeland Security is moving their headquarters to Anacostia. The neighborhoods surrounding Anacostia are still economically disadvantaged, but for Anacostia itself, the conditions are changes quickly.

I guess many are under the impression that Anacostia still resembles the Anacostia of old during Marion Barry's heyday.
Way different.
LoL @ "(one of the worst places in DC,) if not the country." Not now, and not even back then.

but across the river is a tough area.

That's two shootings, a handful of assaults and a ton of robberies (not thefts). All in the last two weeks. Now, those "worst neighborhood" rankings that come out from time to time are definitely idiotic considering last time they listed anacostia and navy yard side by side...lolwut? Yeah, bottom line, I'm not taking pleasure walks through anacostia.

It's so awesome to see this news. I hope he molds the lives of some young men in a positive fashion. I was always impressed by his transition playing college safety to NFL LB.

Good for him! Cato has been active recently with the DC alumni club and is a quality guy
