Utah joins select company
With the victory on Thursday night, Utah joins a very small subset of Michigan opponents. Since 1945, only three other non-conference opponents have won three straight (or more) regular season games against Michigan: Army ('45, '46, '49, '50, '54); Washington ('83, '84, '01); and Notre Dame ('87 thru '90).
It's of course true that the '08 and '14 teams Utah beat were two of the weakest Michigan teams since 1969, but that doesn't obscure the fact that Utah has been a pretty strong program since 2003. I'd compare the loss in SLC to the road losses we've had at UCLA, Washington, and ND over the years in terms of strength of opponent. Utah doesn't have the major-program cachet of those teams, but last year they beat USC, UCLA, and Stanford, the latter two on the road.
Chris Petersen to Washington
Chris Petersen expected to be named Washington head coach today. Will be one of highest paid in PAC-12.

Big Ten Network Live Comments on Hoke
Just watching the show and it was great to hear very comments towards how involved Hoke is with the defensive line on each practice that they have seen and how those players react and comment on this involvement. just how much coaching and improvement those players make during the last two seasons.
That should be copied, saved and played for every single D lineman we are recruiting. Revsine and Griffith both pointed to the significant improvement and Griffith noted how much better both Washington and Campbell have become each week during the season. Nice to see recognition for their efforts on what was a big big question mark going into the season.
10 years ago today
On an insanely hot day in Ann Arbor, at the big house, where fans were dropping left and right from heat exhaustion, we played Washington. And Phil Brabbs, who had missed 2 field goals earlier in the game, did this with 2 seconds left...
And he and Navarre had a reaction like this...
And Brady Hoke congratulated him like this...
And today he has a family like this...
Morgan Trent Picked Up By Skins
He was released on waivers by the Jags (?) recently. Apparently the Redskins are showing some love.
Skins have been doing a lot of restructuring lately with the pick-ups of multiple young quarterbacks, etc. Hopefully they have a spot picked out for Trent.
