Oregon to wear winged helmets (NTWHs) in Rose Bowl
Sure, I'm doing exactly what Phil Knight and the Nike overlords want me to do by drawing attention to their new uniformz, but I am still ANGAR! Now we know how they really swayed Jake Fisher.

Do not have the audacity to called those winged helmets...they are atrocious.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:21 PM ^
Those are awesome.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:28 PM ^
Would it really hurt them to just put the uniforms on some actual players instead of this professional shadowy photo shoot?
December 27th, 2011 at 1:55 PM ^
Yes, it would. We have to let the players feel like they're fukkin' sikk-azz warriorz. Otherwise it's just a guy wearing ugly clothes instead of a recruiting tool.

True Baller status with those on, wonder if wiskey will be changing it up at all.
December 27th, 2011 at 5:31 PM ^
Addidas wanted to, but the Where's Waldo brand flipped their lid and the jerseys were rejected by the legal department.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:16 PM ^
Those things are badass. They should use them permanently, but they won't. They'll design something cool again for their next game.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:07 PM ^
Agree, those are actually pretty cool. Nothing like ours. No harm, no foul.
December 27th, 2011 at 2:56 PM ^
Wow. I love them. A bit outrageous, but awesome none the less.
December 27th, 2011 at 3:04 PM ^
Same. If I were a college kid, I'd be so geeked to wear these. They look like sick, dark football warriors from the future in these unis.
December 27th, 2011 at 3:35 PM ^
You're confusing real college football with playing on your XBox
December 27th, 2011 at 4:04 PM ^
So is Nike
December 27th, 2011 at 9:50 PM ^
And so, in all likelihood, are Oregon's recruits.

Oregon gets their ass kicked
December 27th, 2011 at 12:19 PM ^
Oregon is ridiculous.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:19 PM ^
It looks like the duck's wings have duck pattern baldness
December 27th, 2011 at 12:20 PM ^
I hope when they run out onto the field that have actual wings jutting out from the sides of their helmets. That would be badass.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:49 PM ^
Yeah like something right of Thor. That should give the Badgers something to grab without having to take a facemask penalty.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:24 PM ^
Those helmets are feathered, not winged. And since they're feathered, they kind of remind me of:
John Stamos in 80's feathered hair glory. This must be the Ducks' mascot in the Rose Bowl. Make it happen, Phil Knight.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
How do you guys pronounce "winged"? Is it wing'd or wing-ed?
I said wing-ed helmet at a game (talking about the kid in the Master Chief suit and how he should have made it a winged helmet) and my friends in my section thought it was weird. But I didn't ever think anything of it.

Your friends are right ;)
Seriously, though, I (and most people I know) pronounce it as one syllable.

Also, in "Comfort Ye" the soloist will typically sing "accomplish-ed" and "pardon-ed"
December 27th, 2011 at 12:21 PM ^
That is all
December 27th, 2011 at 12:23 PM ^
and I still can't see any wings worth the name.
Regardless, their unis still suck. They're no different from Arena league uniforms.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:25 PM ^
Everytime I think there is no way Oregon can look any more ridiculous, they prove me wrong.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:15 PM ^
mated with Maryland, then yes, this
December 27th, 2011 at 12:27 PM ^
Oregon's tradition of having absolutely no tradtion continues. Next year they'll just come out in other teams nike pro combat unis
December 27th, 2011 at 12:47 PM ^
but guess what recruits love it so it really doesnt matter. I also happen to love their uniforms, As much as I love Michigan I really do get tired if hearing that traditional uniforms and stuff like that is the only way to accomplish things. Sometimes you have to be the trend setter and that is what Oregon does with their uniforms and athletic facilities.
December 27th, 2011 at 1:29 PM ^
I like the helmets. I'd like Oregona uniforms if they decided on 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 , but come on atleast make them with a color that is in the same family as your schools colors.
After seeing the newer picture of the entire uniform I don't like the helmets. They look like something from a campy 80ies super hero movie

Not to be outdone DB unveils Michigan's new, revised super secret Sugar Bowl uniforms a few hours later...

Those must be the lingere bowl unis....
December 27th, 2011 at 12:48 PM ^
Male reporters in their locker rooms? That would be awesome!
December 27th, 2011 at 12:35 PM ^
The feathers on the helmet reminds me more of an indian mascot than a duck. I can see it being a cool head dress design if they were the Oregon Indians.
December 27th, 2011 at 12:38 PM ^
Wings? Looks more like kitchen knives laid out on a table.
