And then they went to Iowa, down to Florida...B'YAAAAH!

Gunderson and Mateus say "haters gonna hate"
September 20th, 2011 at 4:10 PM ^
"The field goal at the end of the half, my call, didn't work," Dantonio said. "But I don't think that's why we lost the game. But I'll take the blame for that"
He doesn't think that's why they lost the game, so he'll take the blame. Otherwise, it's all on the kids.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:12 PM ^
And yet our OL is still better...even when you bring in a bunch of JUCOs to fill the voids.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:15 PM ^
Are we "some people"? Is he talking about us or some other program?
Anyway, fuck him. Things are getting back to normal in the college football universe. Last year, he was a "genius" for calling "Little Brothers" (oops, I mean Little Giants) for a last-second trick play win over ND. This year, he's an idiot for calling trick plays in the same game. He had the best year he'll ever see at MSU and still might not crack the top 5 of the conference recruiting rankings for 2012. He's going to lose his QB, WR and TE and top defender. His mentor will never coach college football again because he's a lying piece of shit. Anyway, Warden, hope you enjoyed the last three years.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:12 PM ^
Is "Little Giants" a play on "Little Brother"? In other words, "no we're not Little Brother, we're GIANTS WATCH US ROAR!"
Dant seemed so satisfied with himself in giving the play name to the reporter - why would you give the name of the play, unless it was top of mind (and therefore had significance)?
Further indication of obsession if he's naming his plays after this meme.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:20 PM ^
I bet you're right. He is the same guy who started a shit talking feud with a college athlete (and then complained that the college athlete was talking shit in return). Might he name a play as a jab at Michigan? I bet the trick play against ND was going to have a neat name too if it had worked. Maybe "The Hart Breaker"!
September 20th, 2011 at 5:49 PM ^
after a movie starring the great Devon Sawa as "Junior Flyod".
It's probably my second favorite Sawa Performance.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:31 PM ^
I had never even considered that, yet it makes perfect sense. My god they really do have a complex up there, like, whoah.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:40 PM ^
This is sarcasm, right? Because it makes no sense.
September 20th, 2011 at 10:17 PM ^
Why doesn't it?
September 20th, 2011 at 11:11 PM ^
I thought crazy people had compounds and not complexes. Complexes seem to be reserved for supervillain types.
September 20th, 2011 at 8:53 PM ^
Well put.
Very few people realize how @#$%ed up ND was on that last play. A trick was more than moderately probable on a FG of that length.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:16 PM ^
September 20th, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
Duh, you just keep moving more defensive players to the offensive side of the ball and they get perma-better. National recruiting, criminals, cows, slap. The pieces are all there, someone make the joke for me.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:26 PM ^
September 20th, 2011 at 6:06 PM ^
I took it as him ripping us for having only 9 guys on scholarship, saying we have a bigger problem than he has. But if he's moving guys over from the defense, then I don't think it's the case.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:17 PM ^
September 20th, 2011 at 5:06 PM ^
I thought he was referring to the fact that Michigan only has 9 scholarship OL to start the year. Which doesn't make sense because MSU obviously didn't have a bunch either.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:25 PM ^
He thinks he's in better shape on the Oline than UM? This makes my head hurt
September 20th, 2011 at 6:07 PM ^
I'm not sure. I'm confused as well, but that's my take on his answer. He is commenting that they have depth on OL, aka more than 9 scholarship players. Which is fine, except that he just shifted a DL back to OL, suggesting he doesn't have enough depth at OL.
In other news, Mark Dantonio is an idiot.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:38 PM ^
Yeah, it all doesn't make sense. Does he have more bodies than us on the OL? If he's ripping our numbers, then I would think he does, but the fact that they're moving guys suggests otherwise, especially considering they don't have much depth at DT either.
The other think about their OL numbers is that I think the only have three guys redshirting this year, and only one of them was sought after at all. Their numbers won't be getting much better at OL next year (not that ours really will either).
September 20th, 2011 at 4:22 PM ^
Obsessed, kinda like never wearing red or referring to a rival school by another name.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
I thought they were recruiting GALACTICALLY because they are RESTORING the GLORY.
What a f*ckface.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:09 PM ^
Heard Zoidberg is picking between MSU and Nexelmatica Intergalatic National Football's team next week.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
He needs to learn how to count. We've got 10 guys on scholarship.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:28 PM ^
now we just need to flip a few DL to OL so we can up our numbers.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:51 PM ^
You know counting isn't Sparty's strong suit.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:30 PM ^
So, is Dantonio counting the THREE (3!!) guys on theircurrent OL two-deep they've flipped from the D since the end of last year. Or the JUCU recruit whose only been with them for less a month.
Yes, Mork, it is indeed good to have all those Schollie players on the OL. Too bad you dont really have them either....
herp derp
September 20th, 2011 at 4:32 PM ^
winner.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:09 PM ^
Fucking Mork...
September 20th, 2011 at 4:36 PM ^
The title of this thread should just be, "Dantonio, what a Dantonio"
September 20th, 2011 at 4:42 PM ^
So, if someone does something douchy, I can simply say that the person pulled a "Dantonio" from now on? Outstanding!
September 20th, 2011 at 5:27 PM ^
....that if someone ever needs a cavity cleaned out, they must need a good Dantonio-ing.
(e.g., "Before they performed the procedure, they Dantonio-ed my colon.")
September 20th, 2011 at 5:30 PM ^
I just saw an advertisement for a new product that is set to hit drug stores nationwide: Summer's Eve Dantonio (comes in assorted fragrances).
September 20th, 2011 at 5:34 PM ^
you had a great opportunity and missed.
Tremendous>outstanding
September 20th, 2011 at 4:39 PM ^
Wowwhatadick.
I can't get over the fact that this guy is supposed to be a grown up.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
I'm surprised he didn't try to quote some scripture, also.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:40 PM ^
But I keep being reminded by Pat Caputo and Mike Valenti that Dantonio owns this state. Why he mad?
September 20th, 2011 at 4:58 PM ^
I knew they were desperate for money in Lansing, but I didn't realize they sold the whole state. Does that include the Mackinac Bridge? What about the Soo Locks? Did Canada at least put up a counter offer?
September 20th, 2011 at 4:42 PM ^
I'm very confused as to what this quote means...that M did their diligence and actually has backups? I mean shit we are freaking out because next years two deep is going to include a lot of those steller incoming frosh's Hoke is pulling in.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:48 PM ^
but I bet any one of them would be a starter on MSU's line right now.
September 20th, 2011 at 4:52 PM ^
I would agree with you on everyone except Joel Foreman. He is a very solid guard and could start on any line in the B1G.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:03 PM ^
Foreman was brutal, desperately had to tackle ND D lineman to keep Cousins in one piece. He had multiple holding calls on one drive in the 4th quarter alone.
September 20th, 2011 at 5:43 PM ^
I'm not going to asess a lineman on one game in his 4 year career. He was all-conference last year.
September 20th, 2011 at 6:15 PM ^
I was trying to say that Dantonio could take any of our 9 guys and he would easily start somewhere on that line, not necessarily that all 9 guys are better than the entirety of their hodge-podge of Joel Foreman, JuCos and converted DTs
September 20th, 2011 at 4:53 PM ^
"Coach D is embedded in their collective heads. They hinge on everything he says trying to somehow figure out how it might be a slight towards them. I love it."
makes perfect sense...
