Michigan lands 2012 walk-on WR Bo Dever
Your words are weird.
5-7-11 Haiku form:
Looks a little slow but tuff!
No, run after catch.
I do see him playing speacial teams.
He nailed it, as long as "speacial" is 4 syllables.
here is a good write up on Bo. Sounds like a steal to get this kid to walk-on.
No offense but that fluff was barely readable. Bleacher Report is such crap it's unbelievable. Absolutely no value in there.
Nothing wrong with a good possession WR. You do not have to be the fastest guy to run a good clean route, get behind the LB's and in front of the Safety. Not every WR has to be a deep threat.
after watching Denard there is no doubt that not every deep threat must be a WR.
Do we get a Hello: post for walkons? I'm going through Hello: withdrawal..
especially since this has been his dream to play for UM. You have to respect a kid (and his parents?) that would rather pay out-of-state tuition at Michigan than go somewhere else for free. Best wishes for you Bo!
More like "Hey" or "Hi" or a head nod?
Says much, and I don't think we'll ever see that kind of blind devotion from a former player in our era. Although we all did read the "baby Tress" story, which is actually more evidence of fan stupidity than player loyalty.
My son, Brady Mattison Wagner, has something to say to you..
We considered naming our daughter Maizy(sp?) or Maizy Blue but then we didn't.
Edit: We have a doberman named Woodson
I have four dobermans. named BO, Desmond, Brady, and Victor. I'm gonna get another one and name him Chuck. I have a daughter named Madison. guess my wifes alma mater.
Madison State?
nice Fudd. you put 2 & 2 together. I see whatcha did there. impressive.
I have an almost-1 year old names Charles (Charlie). Don't tell his mom, but I pushed for that name because of a certain Heisman winner. Not Charlie Ward.
I've told my girlfriend that if we ever end up getting a dog that we're naming it Denard, but it's a dog...not a human being.
Named my dog Maizee, but don't think I could have convinced the wife to name my daughter that.
and the coach was a huge mentor in your life, it would be OK.
I don't think anyone said it wouldn't be. Hell, I'll likely end up naming (or middle naming) one of my kids after someone big in my life.
I feel old now.
Dave and I were in the same class. He roomed down the hall from me in South Quad. Congratulations to his son. I'm sure he's proud as hell.
This kind of thing can be good for building a farm system of potential coaches, too.
Welcome, Bo.
I love getting guys with this kind of passion for Michigan!
We are talking about Bob Denver, right?
Welcome Bo! Anyone named Bo is fine by me!
Remember Blair White?
6'2" ish, 205, walk on possesson receiver, average speed, Yeah shut up Sparty.
Good luck to the little Dever.
Welcome aboard, Bo. Glad to have you with us, and you made a good choice. We have had some walk-ons prosper here. Take a look at leading tackler Jordan Kovacs. Hang in there, and show everyone what you can do . . .
You're gonna do big things Bo! It's wonderful to have you on board.
78 comments for a walk on commitment.. I love MGoBlog.

Does anyone know if this kid is a preferred walk-on or a walk-on ? There is a huge difference. Reason I am asking I did a little research on his stats and wasn't very impressed.Seems he is more of a D 3 player ! Also "Bo" is a nick name his name is David Dever ( which means nothing but thought I would put that out here). Also what will Michigan do now that he has such a serious injury, a torn ACL, means he is out for the season ! This after two broken ankles last year. Will Michigan still take him as a walk-on or let him go and play D 3 ?

There is nothing wrong with playing at a level you belong at. My question is does Michigan keep a walk on that has a torn ACL, this coming off two broken ankles last year. He is out for the season.

When you look at the big picture, there isn't really much difference between a walk on and a preferred walk on. If he's a preferred walk on he gets to skip a try out or two and might have an easier time getting into UofM. He can still essentially be cut from the team if the coaches want to. I've never seen any backlash for a coach cutting a walk on during fall camp. His dad played for Bo. Legacies with a sufficient amount of talent generally get the offer of a walk on spot.

Schools are only allowed a certain number of walk-ons. Does Michigan keep this kid who is injured already or open up that spot for a healthier, faster player.

I've never seen someone complain about the use of the walk on slots. There is no harm in bringing him in and if he's too injured to make the team, he's too injured to make the team. If James Ross broke his leg next week, should we drop him too?

Listen here buddy. Bo Dever has been working his ass off to get to where he is. This has been his dream since he was a kid to go to Michigan and play at Michigan. If you have a problem with him receiving this amazing offer why don't you just keep your comments to yourself or man up if you are from LF. You are just jealous that Bo is living out your dream for you. Can't wait till he proves you wrong. So stop trash talking an amazing young man and why don't you go blog about something else. Bo you are going to do amazing things at Michigan. Don't let someone blogger get satisfaction by putting a damper on your dreams! go BO! Prove this person wrong!

If you knew anything at all about this subject you would understand that we need to fill the slots with players that can add something to are team . this kid has a history of serious injuries. Why should we let him take a spot from a better player ?

It's a walk-on spot. He can lose it prior to fall camp to a different walk-on if he isn't healthy. There is absolutely no reason to yank a walk-on offer from anyone, let alone a legacy.

So when did Bo drink your milkshake?
