Huge win without Dickinson. But Houstan  going 0-10 and Johns going 0-5 I just don’t see this team making past the first weekend. Great job by Martelli coaching in these last games that were must wins. I would love to see some tournament magic but I just don’t see it from this team. I hope I’m wrong. We will see soon enough.

Boy, no kidding. Phil Martelli - what a magnificent job that man has done.

We so needed an experienced hand to adapt on the fly to losing our best player at the last minute. Coach Martelli stepped up.

We desperately needed a calming presence when the wheels came off at the end of the first half. Whatever Coach M said to the boys at halftime sure worked!

In crunch time, we need a battle-hardened guy who's seen everything to help the boys close it out. Those drives and pocket passes as the clock neared 0 were just perfection.

Can't give enough credit to the coaches and players for what they accomplished today. Magnificent.

And we beat the damn bucks - again!

Go Blue! Go NCAA's!

Martelli has had about as little as anybody to do with winning today, or any of the last 4 games.  He is the first to give more credit to the players, the other assistant coaches and Coach Howard when the team gets a win.  He should know.

No surprise Jones has played well with Martelli as the head coach. His guards were always strong when he was a head coach!

Game vs Rival without are best player (who matches up vs their best player) on the road. Eli and Jones did what veterans needed to do. Diabate didn’t back down, T-Will may be that x-factor we are looking for off the bench.

Lace up the dancing shoes, and we will tie them up on Thursday!

What a second half ! Always good to beat OSU.  Big time win, especially on the road.  Could not be more impressed with Coach Martelli.  Go Blue !

So glad I didn't read the game thread during the game.  Fortunately I saw that the turn-around was the very next page.  Fun reliving the good part.

So an MSU win means Indiana then possibly Wisconsin. An MSU loss means Maryland and possibly Illinois.

"as little to do with the win as anybody"

I dont know man you think if Martelli deserved credit he would say so? Thats kind of our job.

Way to go coach. MORE TWILL. Sixth man of the tournament award should be a thing.

If Maryland beats Michigan State today, then the Spartans will fall to 19-12, 10-10 and in eighth place in the Big Ten with eight losses in their final ten, regular-season games and possibly dropping from their current NET ranking of 39.

Coach Martelli came up with a great game plan without Hunter able to play. They caught Ohio State off guard. It worked. Impressive win!

Wonderful 3-pt defense during the second half.  The speed and quickness turned the game around.  Perhaps it would make sense to rest Dickinson more during games and play this group more to confuse opponents' play.

It was surprising that M won without a big offensive contribution from Houstan.  Also happily surprising to see them win a game when they trailed at halftime.  Loved that Bufkin 3 pt basket.  That may have been the most crucial score during the last couple of minutes and it was his only basket of the game.  Go Blue!

Great defensive game plan by doubling post and making their 3pt shooters beat us. It worked for OSU early but then they cooled off and Phil did not abandon it. Where the hell was this earlier in the year? Good job Martelli.

The same focus, intensity and grit will be needed to make the tourney. I believe Michigan needs to win against IU to get a NCAA tourney bid. Win 2 and we really improve our seeding from an 11 seed.

Action starts this upcoming week. Big win today, rest up and get ready for March Madness

Of course, I hope that Martelli stays on staff as an assistant to Juwan Howard for years to come. However, he's clearly still got it as a head coach (no doubt there) and doesn't seem to be willing to ride out into retirement. If he wants a head job, he deserves one. The fact that his wife never even moved to Ann Arbor indicates to me that he doesn't think he'll be here long-term.

These are future thoughts, though. For now, what a job to win 3 games as coach, today being the most impressive. All the appreciation in the world for coach Martelli.
