Super Bowl Predictions

Submitted by Tampa 2 on
Happy Friday Friends! With not much football talk on the board today and the SB about 48 hrs away, I thought a SB prediction thread would be fun. I got the Patriots 20-16. I think the Eagles get 3 fgs and a td. NE will struggle early, but halftime adjustments will be the difference. What do all of you think?

For the life of me, in the five years I've been a mod here, I do not understand the hills that some people choose to die on. At this point, I am not sure I really want to understand things like "Why this issue?" or "why this thread?".

I think the Eagles have the momentum going into this game. I also think they have a similar style of defense to the two Giants teams, who beat the Pats... 31-21 Eagles.

19-14 Patriots.  I am expecting good defense on both sides and low scoring.  I have a feeling the Pats will be down 14-13 late and Brady gets another comeback win.  Missed 2-pt conversion.

If the Nick Foles who eviscerated Minnesota shows up, and if Philly's DL can get pressure on Brady, this could be close going into the final minutes of the game. If the Foles who limped through Atlanta and Oakland shows up, this game is already over.

In the end, I don't really care who wins. Brady's legacy does not change even if he loses this game. He's a 5x Super Bowl winner, and still the best to ever play the game. But if I had to pick who wins, I can't bet against New England. This game is nothing new to them. The stage isn't too big, and you can't do anything that will surprise them. Honestly, the only way I can see Philly winning is if their DL goes full Michael Strahan and just ransacks Brady early and often. Possibly even force a turnover or two that leads to points. And even then Foles will still have to make a few plays. Too many things have to go right for Philly to win. All NE has to do is keep doing what it's been doing.

NE - 28

PHI - 17

In Foles' defense, though, I'd still have the Eagles losing even if Wentz was healthy. The game might just be a little closer.

Well, considering my office square numbers are 8 & 4 and 7 & 9...

Then I'll take either the Eagles 28-14 or the Patriots 17-9

I like all the Michigan ties in the SB, I just want to hit a square or two and it would be nice to see Brandon Graham get a ring but also for Tom to get his 6th!

Want to see Brady get another one but I think the Eagles win a close game. Eagles D will get to Brady just enough and the Pats D isn’t good enough. Close game but Eagles win.

I socialize the whole weekend about how the NFL sucks and should be disbanded then around 3pm Sunday I commence to drinking beer and eating nachos until I pass out alone on my bed before halftime.

Patriots 31, Eagles 24.

The GOAT gets his 6th championship, and the conversation begins on not whether he is the greatest football player ever (he is.  That's already been decided), but whether Brady is the GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL-TIME.

Minnesota Nick Foles shows up for an encore and lights up the Pats D for 4 TDs, while Fletcher Cox and Brandan Graham spend the day harrassing Tom Brady.

Eagles tack on 2 FGs to win 34 - 21 and I end up climbing all the way up a lightpole covered in Crisco.

#1 Offense vs #2 Defense   Pats already conquered the #1 pass defense.   Hmmm but something is wrong.  Will this game be nothing like expected?  27 - 0 or 37 - 35?  My input is worth maybe less than you paid for it.
