WIlson is fast in open space but doesn't see holes great and didn't play after MSU game anyway.  Offense can run without him.

Marshall is straight legit.  But if Braxton can return punts, plus we have a few others that can do so, and/or play Hback well, then it mitigates losing him.

SMith is an ok receiver but really good blocker.  Not irreplaceable though.....

Bosa......geez.

so dumb.

They still have Loeffler, so you can expect the offense to be horrible, so I'd think the Bosa loss isn't much. Last year they caught OSU off guard with their Bear defense and JT Barrett's 2nd career start. With Barrett likely starting again and Braxton and Elliott in the backfield, this game doesn't look to be competitive, even with the suspensions.

I would imagine that they still could beat Virginia Tech even with one hand sort of restrained but perhaps not completely tied behind their back. It does not help Virginia Tech's cause that Beamerball has now become so advanced in its evolution that it has transcended the need to actually score points, at least in regulation. Sadly for them, conventional wisdom regarding football demands that winning point totals should normally be expressed in whole positive integers.

You all know now that this is the part where Braxton Miller is inserted at WR and he has 18 catches for 250 yards and 3 TDs, right?

But in all seriousness, while I believe that this game is still already over, it does make it slightly more interesting. Running the ball might've become a bit more manageable, but if VaTech wants to win this game, its going to have to keep up with OSU on the scoreboard (which is about as likely as finding a flea on an elephant's ass), as well as create some turnovers and give its offense a very short field to work with. Oh, and Scott Loeffler will have to call the game of his life. And that might still require the 19-20 year old version of Michael Vick to miraculously appear and lead the offense.

Missing Bosa will hurt them, but only in the form of maybe giving up some additional running yards, and maybe that spots VaTech a TD. They might miss Marshall a little, but guys, let's be honest: it will take another miracle for VaTech to even be in this at halftime.

Especially in Bosa's case.

You think he gives two craps if he gets caught with weed? Unless he's doing coke or starts getting in a bunch of drunken fights, he's heading for a huge payday next April, and getting caught with weed won't change that one iota.

This feels like a fair punishment, but I'm kind of surprised they imposed it against VT.  I'm not expecting an upset or anything, but OSU might be in for a bit of a rough day against Foster's D and was probably going to rely on that defense as well.

Hard to fault a college kid for wanting to burn one or two on the weekend, but kind of dumb partaking knowing they could be tested. One game rip seems fair,if for no other reason than being stupid. OSU will be fine against VT, Bosa and Marshall will be good to go Wk 2. Wilson could easily drop down the depth chart behind Miller and Curtis Samuel, and Corey Smith has a ton of talent pushing for his spot too.

I think that was due to the fact that it was an NCAA-administered drug test for Mitch, whereas I'm guessing this was internal punishment by OSU. It's really a matter of what the NCAA directly gets their hands on.

Not that I don't agree with you. It's fucking ludicrous to suspend someone an entire year for weed when you have guys (admittedly from our own team, sometimes) that are suspended for 1-2 games for far worse crimes.

And don't get me wrong, I'd rather we had a full roster, but this may help Urban get and keep the team's attention. We have 5 weeks to prepare, so it isn't a last minute issue like Braxton's injury last year.

And this is the dirty side of college football.  ND would have booted them out for atleast half the year missing the entire season or more.

Why do we lose players to pot in A2 where weed is virtually legal yet these dudes just get a one game susp?

It's not integrity anymore, it's just ridiculous.
