I belive the video you are…

I believe the video you are describing is from the local CBS affiliate in Columbus.  The link below is the article.  Many of the stills are from Tom Orr from Buckeye Huddle who, with Tony Gerdeman, does the Michigan Monday.

Glad to here he is doing…

Glad to hear he is doing well, and hope he has a speedy and full recovery.

A few years back at swim meet at Bowling Green, I had several seizures in our hotel room.  I had not been to a doctor in years and had undiagnosed Type 2 Diabetes and had too many of the free hotel cookies.  It was just me and my older son.  He had just gotten his license and had to drive me to the ER at 2 in the morning in a strange town.  There was a fire/accident on I-75, and there was going to be a delay in getting an ambulance. I thought maybe I was having strokes.

I am not in any way suggesting that might be what happened to him, I imagine he is better a out physicals than I was.  I just have a little extra empathy for him because it happened in a somewhat unfamiliar environment, and I know disconcerting that was for me.  And, to be honest, I don't need to know why it happened.  If he wants to tell folks, he can.  If he doesn't, it is his business.

Actually, easier than that. …

Actually, easier than that.  Unless they have moved them since I last visited, they were at the Kuhn Honor and Scholar House.  It used to be where the OSU President lived before they moved that off campus during the Vietnam War.

The new house actually was on my paper route, near Whetstone Park/Park of Roses when I was a kid. It has relocated a couple times to different, larger homes in the Bexley area, close to the Ohio Govenor's Mansion.

That would be funny, BTW.

The Illibuck is a carved wooden turtle that serves as the trophy awarded to the winner of the game. Two junior honorary societies, Bucket and Dipper of Ohio State and Atius-Sachem of Illinois, are responsible for the care of the Illibuck. Originally the "trophy" was a live turtle when the tradition began in 1925, picked for its expected long life as a symbol of the anticipated long life of the rivalry. From 1919 to 1933, the Illinois–Ohio State game was the regular-season finale for both teams. Since the original turtle's death on April 14, 1926, ten wooden replica Illibucks have been carved, each with the scores from games on its back. The Illibuck is the second oldest trophy passed between Big Ten Conference football programs (the Little Brown Jug was created in 1903).

I liked them up until the blasphemy they spewed in their ad for their live show.  They got it half-right saying it is the night before the greatest rivalry in college football.  They just got which rivalry wrong.

Who am I kidding, I still think they are very funny.  I particularly loved the long running Hope gag, until Georgia ruined it by winning it all last year.  If they keep playing like they did against Missouri, she may return, though.

Joel appreciates you spreading the word about his podcast.  :)

Seriously, I really enjoy his stuff as well.  I like he can and does take the time to explain some of his thoughts.  I particularly liked how he addressed why he was critical of Michigan against Maryland. He got in a small dig at OSU for not having any road games yet, which is fair.

I also enjoy the College Football Nerds as well as Josh Pate.  The Nerds just feel like a casual conversation with friends.  Pate is sometimes a bit full of himself but is clearly passionate about the sport and doesn't seem to consistently troll any given team or conference.

I miss TWIS.  Though I have often wondered if it was Brian's fault Michigan suffered the late Carr, post Carr Era due to schadenfreude because Brian was writing TWIS.

Sorry, forgot that it didn't auto link.

I will say his comment near…

I will say his comment near the end, to paraphrase, that the study was needless because it just conformed what we already knew seemed a bit out of character for him.  It also showed, imho, misunderstanding of the purpose of research, which is a bit at odds with some of his other videos.

I have been reading your…

I have been reading your stuff since the very early days.  While I was living in DC I worked with a Michigan fan and I would share some of the old Ozone columns from the guy who preceeded Tony Gerdman.  After a couple months of that, he found MgoBlog and started sharing your content in return.  He also eventually found Yost's old MZone site.

I read for years.  I saw the excitement for RichRod that ended in disappointment.  I have to confess I did enjoy some of the misery, I started my Freshman year at Ohio State along with John Cooper, so hopefully you at least  understand, if you can't forgive.

I saw you try to make the best of the Hoke years, even though it was clear you thought it was a step back that was doomed to failure. You tried, as best as you could, not to say I told you so.

Somewhere, around this time, I started feeling bad for you. Not all Michigan fans, but many and definitely you..  I started occasionally posting when there was talk of moving The Game.  I would occasionally weigh in with an opinion, but I tried hard to not troll.  I even thought about sending you something when you were headed to the bowling alley, but I was afraid it would come across as insincere.

I, too, thought Harbugh would return some balance to The Game.  So far, that has not been the case.  I confess I did enjoy some Michigan fans and their misery, folks in the Steve Deace mold. Not you.

I appreciate all the content.  I understood the lack of OSU UFR's, though I would have be interested to read them.  I am one of those folks who knows what I think a out OSU so I avoid most OSU stuff and have little interest in posting on Eleven Wariors or the Ozone.  I would rather spend the limited time I have to engage with other team's fans.  The Covid year has kept me busier than usual and most of the threads I looked at related to that topic and I decided my time was better spent.

I am sorry for the toll this has taken on your personal life.  I hope for the best with you and your wife.

Could have been 3 FGs and a safety.  Downside, no TDs, upside, 4 good special teams plays (three field goals and a good punt or kick coverage that pinned Wisconsin deep) and then the defense getting a TFL.

For a moment, I thought the subject line was going to end in 2014, given the usual hyperbole for M00N.

I heard this the other day, but I can't recall if it was one of the local sports shows or Dan Le Batard's show.  Whoever it was said they always found Conan to be really entertaining when he was a guest on other shows.  He always seemed more relaxed and natural and it allowed his humor to come through so much better than when he was hosting his own show.

The radicalization scene at the begining of episode 7 was both depressing and chilling given current events.

I guess, in a way, it must be nice to know a famous writer was describing your philosophical underpinnings.  Or, lack thereof.

DeWine did do steps to shut…

DeWine did do steps to shut things down in Ohio, and he did have a mask mandate in April.  For about a day. And then he caved to people who are merrily letting themselves be led around by grifters like Rep. Nino Vitale, who is the dictionary definition of punchable face.

Three months later DeWine rei-mposed a mask mandate, about the same time Larry Householder the Ohio House Speaker and anti-masker was arrested, for crimes unrelated to Covid.

DeWine did okay, he could have done better.  He caved, at a critical juncture, to a vocal, visible, but small minority and it set Ohio back and cost more lives.  And he still gets all kind of flak from the folks who listen to Tucker, Limbaugh and local radio hosts and guys like Demetrius Stanley, who clearly took more shots to the head in his career than anyone realized.

Deace is wonderful…

Deace is wonderful entertainment for Ohio State fans.  But if the Walmart Wolverine guy sporting a Harbaugh tramp stamp is your go to source for football news, you will are sadly misinformed.  And if you are using him for a source of political news, I pity you for whatever life choices got you to this point.

At first I thought your…

At first I thought your shift key was broken or perhaps lazy, consistent lower case was part of the Michigan difference.  But then I noticed you were able to go to the trouble of capitalizing Ohio, but apparently couldn't be bothered to capitalize Michigan.  Glad to see we are worth the effort and respect but your Alma Mater is not.  The namesake you use for your username deserves better.

He will have other articles,…

He will have other articles, but not a Michigan Monday.  He's never written one after The Game.  It isn't the stated purpose of the article.  That purpose is, basically, to have him watch your games and let Buckeye fans know what you are up to and what we should think about it.  The assumption is, after The Game, we don't need it because we saw they game and the other usual post game articles would cover it.  Not like Brian skipping UFR's when you lose The Game because he doesn't want to have to watch it over and over again to do a thorough UFR, but instead the aspects of Michigan Monday are in the other post game articles.  It is late and I don't feel like checking, but I don’t think Tony does one after your bowl game since we aren't playing you again that season.  I imagine he would do one if we were both in the playoffs and didn't play in the opening round.

I don't see the tone change several folks have mentioned, but it may be my bias.  I do know since Hoke, almost every season there are folks who see a change in tone after a big Michigan win and insist he is worried that this will be the year the tide will turn.

Also, there are questions here about how he may cherry pick certain stats, his favorite seems to be to down play yards per carry by taking out big plays.  He has done that with analysis of Ohio State as well, so it isn't something he uses just to try to down play your offensive success.  Whether it is a valid point is debatable, all those plays happened, but it is there to discuss and if need be discredit.

I will say at some point he did realize that he has a number of views from Michigan fans and writes it with that in mind.

May have posted a few times In general, I mostly lurk to get a different perspective. I was introduced to this by my Michigan co-worker, when I was still living in exile in Washington DC. He found it, and the old Mzone, when he was looking for something to compliment/counter content from the Ozone I would share with him.
My money... Is on the latter.
Funny once Imho, not multiple times.
The joke isn't 3 x funny Only submitted once.
If he wins that way... Will Kate Upton approve?
A Michigan Man can do better It is an Ohio, not a Ohio. But I will agree coming on to just troll is stupid. Of course, admittedly, I am not adding much here. So I will say, congrats Mr. Peppers.
Maybe Brian will break tendencies And do a UFR. I saw one OSU site mention you went from Man to Zone.
Saw this today https://bwi.forums.rivals.com/threads/2005-michigan-vs-psu-game-bad-cal…
I think Weber was wanting a flag As I recall, the defender drove him out of bounds and then kind of threw him down. I don't think it was worth a flag because I think he was completing a play that started inbounds. And I think that is what the ref was telling Weber there. But I agree the butt smack is odd.
A few more shocking stats

In those four shutouts, Rutgers totaled 126 passing yards. OSU/UM/PSU/MSU: 751.

Rushing? Rutgers got 265 yards in those 4 games.  OSU/UM/PSU/MSU: 1,507.

Overall, 2,258 yards to 391.

Rutgers 24 1st downs,  OSU/UM/PSU/MSU 100

They forced 12 total punts, meanwhile RU punter Michael Cintron punted 46 times for 1,729 yards. He punted 43 times in their other 7 games for 1,642 yards. He's got 3,371yards on the season.

First P5 team since Baylor in 2002 to be shutout in 4 games in the same season.

Like mistletoe

Look!  There's a rule, a tradition which says...

I have to kiss this girl.  She's just upholding the law. It's a federal law, actually.

With College

The top two are Baseball and Football, the order varies depedning on which schoool you are talking about.  #3 varies, as you say, after that.  At Iowa and Penn State Wrestling might actually be #3.  Heck at PSU Wrestling may be #2 because their basketball has been so dreadful for so long.  At times, at OSU, Women's Hoops were probably 3rd. That still might be the case, though Hockey is close if it isn't.

I think you have some apples and oranges there

The Interwbes tell me the Wilpon Complex seats 2,800. I don't know what regular season ticketrs go for, but at MGOBLUE.COM, the tourney tickets are $8-12,  I would assume regular season tickets to Hockey or MBB are 5 to 10 times that.  Not to mention Yost seats a bit more than twice that number (6,600 is the number I found) and Crisler about 4 and half times as many (12,707.)

It sounds like you have a strong core of supporters for Softball which is great, but I don't think comparing the sellouts is a fair way to judge the comparitive interest in the sports mentioned.

A pro sports example I saw the other days was an argument between Pens and Priates fans.  The Pens have had a bunch of sellouts, but  the Pirates still have the higher radio and TV ratings.  PNC Park holds about twice what the Consol Energy Center does.

Sorry about that.

Last year it was our turn to be the marquee home game for Rutger

They seem to be following the recent Penn State trend of having either you or us (depending on the year) as their big night home game.  We are PSU's white out game, again this season.  Since 2010 it has been either you or us except for 2011 when they did it for Alabama.

Interestingly Maryland has not gone that route.  Our game in 2014 and yours in 2015 were both Wolverine Devotee approved noon kickoffs ay Byrd.

The real question is

Yes He and his wife had lead the fundraising for it and reportedly donated several million dollars. They love her as much as him and I think their BOT decided that might be a bridge too far. Their Food Science ice cream shop still sells Peachy Paterno. Much to the consternation of the cultist, they named the building for the President who signed the Consent Degree with the NCAA. The McAndrew forum at their Rivals site is the epicenter of the crazies. They have a dozen or so folks that can best be described as the Free Jerry bloc. They are convinced he was railroaded and just had boundry issues. They are easy spot because when they discuss the young men were abused by Sandusky as "victims." Their view is the real victims are the Paternos and themselves. Many of the rest think those guys give the rest of them a bad name.
I was living in exile in DC The local government I worked for hired two new folks to act almost like living mirrored drives. That way if one of us was sick, on vacation, etc the other would be there. I was one and my compatriot, John, grew up in Ann Arbor, went to Wisconsin and had worked for PSU. Started in the late spring of 2002. I would regularly share stuff from the OZone, way before Tony Gerdman was there with him. We were the only B1G folks, our boss was a Terps alum, wonderful guy. John wanted a little more balance and dug around and found the MZone and MGoBlog. There wasn't a lot of good free content to a couple B1G guys starving for news. I lurked at both, along with some other B1G team sites, most which are defunct or got picked up by sbnation, for a long time. The MZone was much more casual, so I posted there when Yost started the site back during conference realignment. When he semiretired and went to tweeting I finally started posting over here.
Reminds me of a wedding reception I wnt to in Chicago years ago Where the bride insisted on having the DJ play U2's With or Without You for their couples dance. Marriage ended about 3 weeks later.
At one time

There was even a groupon for half off membership.  While not Dave Brandon's idea, it did seem Brandonesque at the time.

Penn State has a similar philosophy of letting friends of the University join the alumni association.

Ours is a more traditional approach, per the alumni website, we limit members to:

Individuals who have earned associate, bachelor, graduate, professional, or honorary degrees from Ohio State, as well as medical resident graduates of the university.

Should be Josh Groban Instead of Josh Gracin. Oh wait, wrong coach...
If Saban did it

Or Urban Meyer or (insert your favorite coach to dislike), would you find it objectionable?

Maybe it is because I come from the Dark Side, but if he was upfront with them, I don't have much of a problem with it.  Especially if it might be a one season thing.  He grabbed a lot of these kids before the season started or got going.  As the season started to exceed expectations he got better plays to show interest.  The probelm is how much did he tell them and when.

Having been on the revieving end of this with a few girls back in the day, it sucks and I feel for the young men.  But again, how much did they know and when did they know and that is something that can't really be answered at this time.

I almost posted something like that at Testudo Times But the wounds are fresh, and humor from a Buckeye might not be well received so soon. I did tell that to some Terp fans I know from my years in DC, but I prefer lurking to trolling as a rule anyhow. I was here not long after Brian started. A coworker who was a Michigan fan when we were both living in exile in DC introduced me to it and the Mzone. I didn't start posting here until a couple years ago.
It wasn't all on him You guys had gotten bitten badly and repeatedly by the injury bug. Yeah the timing sucked and if Beck or Warinner had announced they took a job after we pooped ourselves against MSU where we had only the weather and overconfidennce to blame, I'd be bitter as well. So I get it, I just think he wasn't going to come up with much better given the pieces he had left.
Maybe he should tweet him Let him know what a disappointment this "low character behavior" is. That can't hurt, right? /s
And don't forget your towel.

That And the fact cars run fine on "water" from Flint, the market in Michigan is flooded with a lower cost alternative. And it works great on old engines no special additive required like you need with unleaded gas.
Between the screen name

The needless vulgarity in his posts and the slightly oblivious sexism, I'm excpecting he might get to visit Bolivia soon.  So over the top, leads me to wonder if he is genuinely a Michigan fan or partaking in a crude form of performance art.
