Robert Smith/Blake Corum interview, plus Heisman odds update
There's a great interview between Robert Smith and Blake Corum. Here's a highlight:
Here's the full 42 minute interview. If you didn't know much about Blake Corum, you will get to know what he's all about from it. It really is a great interview. It made me forget about the day.
In Heisman odds news, Blake has moved into 3rd in the odds, passing Caleb Williams.

I know the Heisman isn't intended to go to the most valuable player. So this next stat won't help him move up. Having your highlights on tv all the time seems to be more significant to the Heisman voters. But this stat is a meaningful number, and shows his value. (BTW, Hassan Haskins lead college football last year in this same stat.)
These stats also show his value:
But to get him more Nationwide attention than this guy? That is a tough task.
If even he didn't move up enough to pass him, what would be a nice gift for Michigan fans would be if Blake moved up into second in Heisman odds over CJ Stroud. Seeing him at the Heisman ceremony with more votes than CJ Stroud would the nicest Heisman thing for Michigan since, well, last year.

Penix frustrated the Beavers on that game-winning 18 play, 92 yard FG drive, poking just the big-enough holes along the way.

an earlier drive was thwarted when Penix tried to hit the wrong hole and was denied.
It happens.

I didn't know Hooker was a 5th-year senior. Tennessee hit the jackpot in the transfer portal with him...

He looks about 48 years old in the pic above.

Yes, serious Greg Oden vibes

Looks like he could be LeBron’s uncle

Hard to believe that Milton started over Hooker and a change was only made initially due to injury.

Good on Blake Corum for appreciating The Cure.

Not sure why I didn’t realize this before but man Tennessee would REALLY hate us if we denied them a Heisman a second time in 25 years.

Especially if we beat them in the playoff

I hope Blake stays another year at Michigan but I know RB need to start their NFL careers early!

Yeah, their shelf-life is not long at all on average. So any runningback that leaves early deserves zero scorn.

Would love to see Georgia dismantle Tennessee today as it would likely knock Hooker down a couple notches setting up a head to head, Corum vs Stroud, winner take all showdown in Columbus.

Great stuff. Thanks for posting.
It's enjoyable seeing a Michigan guy and an Ohio State guy having a fun, mutually respectful conversation.

Love that Blake Corum is a Michigan Wolverine. Probably my favorite player this year. What a great player. Very positive person who gives max effort every play.

Nope. Robert Smith would have loved East Quad in the 90s.

BC could, conceivably, get closer to Derrick Henry’s final numbers than Ingram’s, if he has a 2-3 more monster games this season, but unless hooker stumbles big time against Georgia, the best he does is second. Henry had the benefit of going up against another rb and a very good but not great qb. Ingram won despite not having the best stats for an rb that year and because of the inherent difficulties any defensive player has just to make the final, let alone win the Heisman.

As long as Blake finishes above Stroud for the Heisman, things will have gone just fine.

Smith was an outstanding RB and, as far as we know, a very good person. However, here it is disappointing how often he interrupts Blake and goes off on a tangent about himself...and then doesn't allow Blake to even finish answering the question he has asked him. Otherwise, Blake is his usual, charming self-a delightful young man.

Wow, totally disagree. Thought he was great.

Corum reminds me of Smith the way he runs.

Am I the only one who's never heard of Robert Smith?
