Punter Will Hart in Transfer Portal
Hate to be the bearer of bad news after a day full of great recruiting news but Angelique is reporting that Punter Will Hart is in the transfer portal.
I had forgotten that Robbins took over midseason. Kind of a bummer. Hart was a rockstar last season. Hope he lands somewhere good for his career.

Hard to imagine a place better for a punter's career than Michigan.

Hahahaha I hate that I literally laughed out loud at this comment but alas, here we are.

Savage.

I know you're probably joking but the Lions' punter Fox looks like he's gonna be one of the better ones for a while.
December 16th, 2020 at 8:59 PM ^
No kidding, might have been the only position Quinn was good at evaluating.
December 16th, 2020 at 8:57 PM ^
Just think, if you got to play the Lions every week, you wouldn't need a punter.

Kirk Ferentz is still at Iowa though..
December 16th, 2020 at 11:54 PM ^
Nah - he makes it tough to get your average up because he keeps punting from the +38.

HEY-OHHHhhhhhh
December 16th, 2020 at 10:16 PM ^
Brilliant

The position most likely to be team MVP under Harbaugh.

I hear Doman is ELITE in all caps...Hart must have read the writing on the wall.
December 16th, 2020 at 10:59 PM ^
Robbins had a similar profile coming in
December 16th, 2020 at 8:41 PM ^
Rumor had it that Hart didn’t feel comfortable after a position switch to DT. I completely understand his reason to transfer and wish him the best in his future.
Go Blue!
December 16th, 2020 at 8:50 PM ^
Wish he would have stuck around because of his ability to coach a zone defense. Next man up.
December 16th, 2020 at 9:25 PM ^
Damn! Another DT bites the dust
December 16th, 2020 at 8:41 PM ^
Good luck to him, between losing his gig and Doman coming on board, this kinda makes sense and opens up a scholarship if I'm not mistaken?

Very strange career trajectory
Three year starter, benched halfway through his senior year and is now grad transferring for a fifth year that I assume is granted only because of COVID
Best of luck, sad it ended poorly
December 16th, 2020 at 8:55 PM ^
I'll refrain from calling it a Hart-less decision and instead wish him good fortune wherever he transfers unless and until his next team faces Michigan.
December 16th, 2020 at 9:02 PM ^
He needed to stop eating chicken! These kids never learn!
December 16th, 2020 at 9:04 PM ^
Hey, when there is a six star guy coming in sometimes you gotta keep your options open.
Seriously, though, good luck to him if he chooses to move on.
December 16th, 2020 at 9:09 PM ^
Robbins ain't the answer either.
December 16th, 2020 at 9:49 PM ^
Robbins #1 punter statistically in the B1G by wide margin.
December 16th, 2020 at 9:55 PM ^
Don’t tell that to Franz.
December 16th, 2020 at 10:17 PM ^
I have inside information from Chernobyl that between 1-50 more players will enter the transfer portal.
December 16th, 2020 at 10:31 PM ^
He was the punter of the year in 2018. He has probably graduated and didn't want to wait around anymore.
December 17th, 2020 at 12:03 AM ^
Punter is one of the few positions in Harbaugh's tenure that has been consistently good. If there is one thing we do well, it is punting. Sad to see Will Hart leave but we will reload at punter.
December 17th, 2020 at 12:05 AM ^
Yeah, it's like not a punter outright cost us a game.
December 17th, 2020 at 3:17 AM ^
Too soon.
December 17th, 2020 at 10:30 PM ^
I was thinking about that as I typed my post. Beating a dead horse but our blocking scheme on that play wasn't exactly setting up the punter for success.
That was one horrific play. Otherwise it's been good.
December 17th, 2020 at 12:36 AM ^
Honestly this transfer is best for both parties. We already have a really good punter so having the extra scholarship will be helpful. If Nordin stays for another year we will already have 4 kickers on scholarship without Hart.
December 17th, 2020 at 6:57 AM ^
He was already a fifth year player and graduate student according to (sorry) the Freep. I would imagine it is very possible he might not be offered another year by UM. Time to move on.
