obviously Penn State made it a moot point, but there was discussion about what if Wisconsin won the Big Ten and it was them or M/OSU representing the Big Ten in the CFP. Of course Alvarez has to leave for the Wisconsin discussion, but do you really think he'd give M/OSU a fair shake when they came up, knowing that if they get it then Wisconsin is out? No.

I saw this on ESPN. My first thought is F that. But in reality, those guys have to exclude themselves from all discussion about their school, i.e. Barry Alvarez with Wisconsin last year.

Smith, who has been Ohio State's AD since 2005, knows a thing or two about selection committees as he previously spent five seasons on the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Committee and served as its chair in 2010-11.

It's still alright if we can get Smith to agree to recuse himself when they are talking about football, right? I mean, if he can get the organizational hierarchy backwards, surely he can be made to agree to this.
