Moorehead was Randy Edsall’s OC at UConn in their final year, when they went to the Fiesta Bowl. Edsall then took the job at Maryland, and opted not to take Moorehead with him. He wanted Gary Crowton instead. Moorehead was then demoted by Paul Pasqualoni before he moved to Fordham. Edsall also decided not to keep the Maryland DC he inherited, Don Brown.

If he spent serious time coaching at Maryland with Moorhead and Brown as his coordinators he's probably in a top-20 P5 job right now. And if he brought them with him he's probably considered a great coach.

You know, the story of who becomes the next OC at Penn State just became a very intriguing sidebar to the coaching carousel of November / December 2017, at least in my opinion, although it probably won't matter much to anyone else outside of the Big Ten East.
