I'm trying to remember the last time we got this good of news.

I know it may be pushing our luck, but any chance Franklin decides to pluck an NFL coordinator from a team with a poor offense?  Pretty please?

Moorehead was Randy Edsall’s OC at UConn in their final year, when they went to the Fiesta Bowl. Edsall then took the job at Maryland, and opted not to take Moorehead with him. He wanted Gary Crowton instead. Moorehead was then demoted by Paul Pasqualoni before he moved to Fordham. Edsall also decided not to keep the Maryland DC he inherited, Don Brown.

Here's what you're referring to:

Edsall must in a dark room somewhere, whittling a branch down to toothpicks, listening to bad music and softly saying "It was going to work" over and over to himself.

This is a great hire for Mississippi St. and I think a good one for the rest of the Big Ten East as well. Looking forward to how Nick Fitzgerald develops under him.

You know, the story of who becomes the next OC at Penn State just became a very intriguing sidebar to the coaching carousel of November / December 2017, at least in my opinion, although it probably won't matter much to anyone else outside of the Big Ten East.
